I forgot the type I usually buy. I like the mid drift type. It keeps sawdust out of my shoes. These will have to do till I get my next pair. I like the fact these shoes last over a year. My past shoes from a different brand lasted about five months. After a year only the shoe lases start to come apart, or the loop it goes through comes apart. Otherwise the shoe is still stitched together and not coming apart like other shoes.
i have been using these for work, 8hrs a day, 4 days a week. just walking and they are already coming apart. its a shame as they felt great walking. i have spent much less on walking shoes for work and have got 2 yrs out of them. so just ordered them to replace these.
Been through around a dozen Moab versions over the years. Tried other Merrells but they all have weird arches or something. Just break out a Moab sub brand and give us better options for style. The black toe wrap is getting pretty dated.
Been wearing Moab Ventilators for work, hiking, etc pretty much every day since 2005. The Moab is just as good now as then, in fact I’ve only seen the quality improve with the Moab 2. Comfortable out of the box. Classic look. Couldn’t be happier with them.
So far, these have proven extremely comfortable and suitably rugged on several hikes around my area. I haven’t tackled any really gnarly trails so can’t say if they would handle that but I don’t think they’re meant for the really tough trails anyway.
I had been using all different kinds of shoes without much preference. For a safari to Africa last year my wife convinced me to try Merrill's. She has been a huge fan for quite a while. I had such a wonderful experience with my Merrill's that I am now committed to them. Great, comfortable shoe that is a great value.
Go up and down a few Hills for my walk, a few uneven areas. Merrell's are so much more comfortable and give better support than other shoes I have tried. I've had a few issues with my feet that have been resolved once I switched Merrell.
I have been buying the Moab Ventalator for over 20 years it seems. The wide width is a great fit for me, and always comfortable from the moment I put a new pair on. This shoe is rugged for my trail walking and good looking for my 'Sunday go to meeting' shoes!
After a bout with plantar fasciitis, I went to the Moab 2 Ventilator for relief. The cushioning at the heel, great arch support and ample toe room helped get be over the problem and continues to help keep it from reoccuring.
These shoes are good quality as always. The sizing is a bit different than I expected. I have had several sizes of this same style/model of these shoes over the years, and I'm still not sure which one is exactly correct. I've worn sizes 12 Regular, 13 Regular, and now I have 12 Wide. I'm not sure where the inconsistency is but the shoes are durable, functional, and comfortable. I do recommend these. Thanks.
Second pair of Ventilators; first lasted from 2010 to late last year, 2019. They are my everyday shoe because of comfort, support, stability, and the feel of a solid ground connection. They look cool, too.
These shoes are so comfortable I use them as my daily shoes, not just on the trail. They are very durable and do well even when I give them a beating while hiking. I particularly like how they dry out well and I rarely find any moisture in them the day after a hike. If I was to find any fault at all it would be with the traction on wet rocks and roots. Granted, nothing is going to give you 100% traction in those cases, but I would love to see a little more. Otherwise, I give these shoes my highest recommendation and they are my go-to shoes when hitting the trail.
My husband loves these shoes! He is on his 4th pair and they are perfect for his line of work and also all of the outdoor activities we do in WNC. They fit him perfectly and we will continue to buy them for years! We even got a pair for our 4 year old so he can be like just dad :)
These shoes feel great! I recently purchased a 2nd pair of black Moab’s to replace the Moab’s that I wear at work. I purchased a pair of Gold Moab’s back in May that I use regularly. These shoes are meant to last. I’m on my feet 9 hours a day so it’s nice to have a high quality pair of shoes to support my feet and ankles.
My husband loves these shoes! They're comfortable and supportive, and though they're a hiking shoe, they're surprisingly lightweight. He wears them for hiking in addition to bike riding. He has very wide feet, but these are a great fit. Will definitely be buying Merrell products in the future.
This is my second pair. I wear these every day all year and after 1.5 years it was time for another pair. The first pair still has plenty to go during dirty jobs. The soles on the Moab wears far better than any athletic shoe. Uppers are showing almost no wear. I went with the wide width for comfort. After being wet, these shoes dry well. Overall, a great value.
Buying shoes on the internet can be a crapshoot. This experience was wonderful. Service was quick, fit was spot-on, comfort is outstanding. Not to mention it is a real treat to find someone who still recognizes that some feet are wider than others. I'll be back.
I have several pairs of Merrell shoes and the Moab 2 Ventilator is one of my favorites. I bought them to replace another pair of the same style shoes that I have worn for several years. They are a comfortable, sturdy pair of shoes and I expect to get many years of wear out of them.
