I already have 2 pair of their winter boots, and size is accurate. Weight is like that of a heavy running shoe, the outer sole is soft enough to feel the terrain underneath, and once worn in, are soft and pliable enough for a whole day hiking. The waterproofing is good, though don’t expect full submersion. They are quite stiff for the first week, but loosen considerably after that. They do work best with actual hiking as well as boot liner socks. Outsole grip is quite good, handling recent snow without problems. There is no insulation, so if it’s cold outside, be prepared for cold feet. The laces didn’t require any special techniques, though the laces themselves could be a bit longer for double knotting and tucking into the boot top. These boots would have been great to have in the Porcupine Mountains and BWCA, but I’ll work with it. Support is excellent for high arches without any special insoles; I’ll have to buy spares of those before too long. The price was good; better than I paid for boots prior. Shipping was within the week. Overall, these should do well for backpacking trips, day trips and other trail activities.
