From bitter early morning cold through battering late-afternoon storms, the outside elements can be a distraction when you're zoning in on the end of your line. Simms' men's Challenger Jacket fights back against the elements with heavy-duty Toray fabric and fully taped seams for completely waterproof, breathable comfort. Fleece-lined pockets warm your hands in the most numbing weather. An adjustable storm hood packs away in the collar, and a storm flap with water-resistant zippers adds protection from the driving rain.
Fully taped seams for 100% waterproof performance
3-point adjustable storm hood with stowage in collar
YKK Vislon CF zipper with external storm flap
Dual draw-cord adjustable bottom hem with dual kill switch anchor points
I used the Challenger Jacket and Bibs on a late May fishing trip in Ontario Canada. Temperatures were in the upper 40's at times, and all day rain for one of the days. After sitting on a wet boat seat for 6 hours in the rain, I did experience some dampness in the seat area, but overall kept me dry. I would like to see some velcro to fasten down the zipper leg flaps. It cut the wind well, no water seeps while traveling at 30 mph in the rain. Overall, for the price point this set is in, its worth the buy.
