Your problems may all fade away the second your line hits the water, but the storm around you will rage on. Protect yourself like a pro from the elements with Simms' G3 Guide Tactical Waterproof Jacket. Durable, lightweight three-layer GORE-TEX® with water-tight cuffs provide a waterproof seal that keeps you dry even while tailing or releasing your catch of the day. Stash every piece of tackle in your arsenal, and warm your hands while you are at it, in seven convenient pockets and two micro-fleece lined hand pockets. The packable Storm Hood adjusts to fight the fiercest downpour.
I just received this and wanted so badly for it work out, but I had to send it back. The cuffs single-handedly ruin the jacket. I'm not sure what Simms was thinking. The hood is also problematic. The newer Goretex is thin, but very stiff and crinkly. Even a company as good as Simms misses the mark sometimes. I will say the camo pattern is great.
Great jacket. Easy to fish in with a lot of room. Deep pockets allow you to take most of your gear with you without a vest if you are going out for a quick trip.Keeps bout the wind for those cold winter evenings. Make sure you get a size larger than you are used to in order to make sure it fits over your waders.
This is the first new wading jacket I have bought in 20 years. Its great. The cuffs tighten and now I don't get my sleeves wet. Ampule pocket space for gear. I have already been in 2 rain storms and stayed dry and comfortable the whole time. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone.
Glad I bought this awesome jacket. Went on a week long trip after it came in the mail. 1 day was a torrential downpour all day long and this jacket kept me bone dry. Great features and lots of pockets.
Amazing jacket!!! Light weight easy to pack and keeps you dry as a bone in a downpour. I like the ability to layer under it. The cuffs do a great job of keeping water out when tailing fish. only wish it had fleece lining in the lower hand pockets
I bought this jacket and returned it for the simple fact that there is No Back pocket. I don't carry back packs, sling packs or waist packs. I'll be hanging on to my old jacket till you figure out that that back pocket balance out the jacket with stuff out front
With Simms Warranty this is likely my last wading jacket purchase. It is super waterproof. I used it all season and one week in BC with a couple days of downpour and was dry as toast. The two major pockets work great and aren't something hanging off the front with flaps. Zippers work great. Is really light for a major league jacket. It is too bad it's so expensive but maybe it's worth it if it continues to perform like it has for me. I am pretty rough on gear and this thing stands up.
Don’t buy this coat! In my opinion this coat is a death sentence with the wrist adjustment the way they are. Heaven forbid you find yourself in a life and death situation and you can’t get your coat off. In my opinion this coat turns into a straight jacket if you don’t release the wrist straps and try to take this coat off, your in trouble. The other thing I missed was that the two large chest pockets are a mesh material not Goretex . What I did like was quality of the goretex it seems better the hood adjustments seem better, a higher collar in the face , and the cut of the coat feels better.
I was looking forward to receiving this jacket from Simms. However, the only question I had, Is the size consistent with a G3 guide jacket?" Because the jacket is new for 2018, none of the local fishing stores carried the jacket to confim fit. One would think the fit would be similar, but the G3 Tactical is larger then the G3 guide jacket. My thinking is the designer made the shell larger to accommodate the fishing gear people would stuff into the interior pockets? The pockets are huge, even overlap. I carry my gear in a backpack and don't need large exterior or interior pockets, but overall Simms missed the mark on this one. Fortunately, my brother weighs 240# and it fit him perfectly, so he bought it. For size comparison, I am 6' and 215#. Caution on size?
