This is probably my favorite piece of Sitka gear to date! I often wear this as my outer layer when my Delta isn't needed. Regardless, it is always on for mid-to-late season for waterfowl. And the big pocket in the front is awesome for just about everything from keeping hands warm to holding a pair of gloves for that moment you need them. I recommend this without reservation!!!

This is my "go-to" piece of equipment for Wisconsin duck hunting. I wear it the entire duck season and will layer the Dakota Vest under it in bad weather or over it in nice weather. I own a Delta Jacket but never take it along unless it's raining. By far my favorite clothing item.

My first Sitka purchase and it will not be my last. Worth every penny. I’ve worn this in the rain, wind, warm, cold and this “hoodie” is not only warm and waterproof it’s also the most comfortable thing I’ve ever owned. I wear this jacket/hoodie under or over my waders in early season and in late season I will throw on a vest or some layers under and I might not even wear a shell. I’m 5’10 and 195lbs with an athletic dad bod. The large fits me absolutely PERFECT. If you are taller then that I would recommend a LT, not an XL unless you are an XL shape.

Absolutely the best decision on a purchase I've made for waterfowl. Saved my tail last November layout hunting on lake Huron. Winds gusting to 25mph, 30°F and hands were frozen but the hoody front pocket warmed them up in no time! Usually pair with grinder and if extremely cold I will throw on merino heavyweight, then grinder, and then Dakota and good in virtually conditions here in Michigan. Puddle hunting you will heat up real quick retrieving ducks or wading so be aware. I own the gradient hoody and I don't even wear that anymore now I have this. 5'11" at 218lbs and XL fits perfect with two base layers as mentioned above.

Solid choice
Not the kind of jacket to wear in -20 degree weather without something underneath as a layer. But very nice to have when it’s around freezing temp and does a great job as a wind stopper, as advertised.

One of my first Sitka pieces - Awesome piece
Awesome piece. Coyote hunting in Indiana all night towards the end of February - 25 degrees with 15+ mph winds I only wore a tshirt / quarter zip / and this hoodie. Wind was completely not a factor. Would recommend. It is not the quietest piece so if wearing for stalking it may not be the piece for you. For what it was designed for - waterfowling and other types of hunting where you’re not 100% worried about noise - it is perfect. Very comfortable.

Well Built, Would Recommend
Extremely well built hoody. It feels more like a jacket than a hoody and look forward to using during the upcoming waterfowl season. Highly recommend.

The Dakota hoody did well on the few duck hunts I used it on this past season, but the real test came this week when temps. where I live in Texas went down into the single digits. I wore it while checking for busted pipes, wrapping plants, busting ice off our driveway and sidewalk, and going up into the attic to add insulation to pipes. I also used it as my outer layer inside the house when we were without power for 24 hours. After seeing how it performed through all that, I'm convinced that the Dakota hoody is worth its weight in gold. It's definitely a piece I'll never do without.
