This is my "go to" jacket for most conditions. I use it for bow hunting in late fall and used it in Alaska fishing. The zippers on the arms are great for airing out and having two pockets in the front on the chest outside is great. This way, I can access my phone or camera or other small items i don't want to put in my pockets where my hands go. Great design. Love the jacket! Thanks.
Genuinely windproof, unlike many jackets that say so, and fine in a light rain or mist. Comfortable and versatile, high quality construction and zippers. I use mine (solid moss) a lot in Spring and while traveling. However, as someone else mentioned, I wish you would offer tall mens' versions in the solid colors. I'd buy a second one in XL Tall, solid black, if it were available.
The versatility of this jacket sets it apart from all other soft shells, because you basically get a soft shell and hard shell in one package, that's still comfortable. I wear it over base layers down to 40 degrees and over a down jacket down in to the teens. It keeps heat in, but keeps wind out. The pit zips also make it easy to hike in. Very pleased so far.
The first time I took this jacket out was in Texas on a white tail hunt and I thought this jacket alone would be enough; boy was I wrong. This jacket is meant to be layered and works great for that, it is thin and light but does stop wind. When layered with a sweatshirt or one of the Sitka base layers this jacket is great even in the cold Nevada winter hunts. You have to get into the Sitka System to understand all the different layers and how they work to keep you comfortable on the hunt.
