They fit good in the store so I bought through there website. When they arrived I started to break them in. After about a week decided to walk outside for about 2 miles. Now I have a hole in the back of my foot at the leather is so hard it's not breaking in. Contacted the company and have not heard anything for a week. If this is the sign of the company I'll buy another brand. Just wish they didn't feel so good in the store that I tried them on at
I'd been wearing Riva's exclusively for 15 plus years (8 pairs?). No more. Although the redesign (Arrowood) is aesthetically attractive, they have now become unwearable for me. The higher heel back chafes my ankles, and the repositioned metal loop is now too far back to be used without further discomfort. The old Riva's were the only shoe of this type that I could wear comfortable with my Morten's Neuroma (foot condition). My toes go numb after 15 minutes of walking. I've been wearing the Arrowoods off and on for over a year trying to break them in, and just have sore feet for it.
I tried these on and every step I took caused the shoe to dig into the back of my ankle. Needs more padding there. I tried to tighten them and loosen them but nothing helped. I really like the way these look but I had to return them.
Please never stop making this shoe. I've used this as my daily shoe for hiking, biking, working carpentry, etc for about 10 years. It's waterproof, extremely comfortable while still being very supportive. I wear them out in about 3 years of wearing them everyday and being very rough on them. Please never stop making this shoe.
They size a little big but would be perfect I wore hiking socks every time. Also, the ball of the foot is nice and wide so they feel stable without being overly clunky. Leather looks nice. Haven't tried them in the water as of yet but I don't plan on swimming with them.
Unfortunately, I had to return the shoe.I loveEd the look of the shoes so much I thought as a female I could wear a men's size 7 however it was still too large. I wish they made this shoe in a women's size same color olive and black
While I love the look of the shoes, they hurt the top of my feet when I wear them. There are two different materials sewn together in the middle of the tongue and the stitching really rubs on the tops of my feet.
Bought this pair as a replacement for the same shoes, so it was refreshing to see they were identical to the worn ones replaced. After a a day's break-in, they felt the same as when their predecessors were new. What I like about these shoes is not just the casual, go-anywhere style, but the support is tremendous. They come higher than similar shoes, but that extra height is an ankle-saver on trails, where hidden hazards abound. And while my feet ached after a long trek with other brands, they don't after a good hike in these. But alas, the soles got thin on my old ones, pointed rocks started making themselves known, so I was happy to find new ones on the Teva website. Thanks, Teva!
I have bought this product many times - now on my 4th pair.
The comfort, support, and stability are excellent, lasting well past the tread on the soles. I have a new pair for hiking mountain trails, and two semi-retired pairs for around the house and neighborhood activities.
Just purchased my second pair. My daily shoe for dog walking, casual hiking, work, and play. The stitching around the toe has frayed and the rubber covering the toe box has delaminated. Then again, I've lived in these shoes daily for 18 months. I'm happy to be walking in a new pair.
These shoes are comfortable, look great . My problem is that the heel area has essentially collapsed down vertically from putting on and off daily. Not smashed flat like people that just trash their shoes. A line sticks out around the heel cup area where the material has just given up. This is with less than a year of use. This disappoints me as these shoes cost just as much as the Scarpa's I previously purchased that held up for 3 years. For a similar price I also had a pair of Vasque shoes that held out for at least 2 years. Yet these Teva's were breaking down in under 12 months of wear. I would recommend buying these if you are going to wear them occasionally for a day hike or night out. However, they are just not built for daily/long term use.
I've tried virtually every brand on the market, and this is the only one that provides room for the toes to wiggle, while at the same time offering excellent snug support everywhere else. On my second pair. LOVE EM
The first pair I had were Kimtahs that blew through the top stitching after 3-4 years. I called in and they said to send them in, and replaced with these which are nearly identical to the Kimtahs. I can say they were some of the nicest hiking shoes I have had. They wore incredibly well and had nice firm outer soles so you did not feel every rock like I do with Keens (though i like them alot too). Not sure whey the stitching tore when it did but Teva backed them up. I wore the heck out of the old ones, but they said that should NOT happen.
It funny the laces on the old ones were too long and on the new ones possibly a touch too short. I like primarily that they are leather (old school) and stretch to mold to your feet over time unlike all the synthetic shoes nowadays. I look forward to several more years of hard wear with these. so far they fir and feel nice, requiring minimal break in. Becasue of the leather look they are also nice enough for casual wear.
I have been wearing New Balance for years. I needed a pair of water proof shoes for a trip I am taking so I decided on these. Of course I wanted to make sure that they would be Ok before the trip so I've been wearing them a few weeks now. Very nice. I can wear them all day. They are very comfortable.
