I've worn boots from every major brand, merrell, danner, keen, and even a few niche brands and these are without a doubt the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, perfect toe box means the instep and ankle can fit snug and secure and not mash up your toes, true to size, I can't speak for durability on super harsh rocky terrain but the waterproofing holds up a these keep decent traction in mud which they should with a vibram outsole I will definitely buy these again and recommend them to anyone looking for a hiker
I bought this product because since Teva bought out ahnu I figured the quality of the ahnu boot would be present in the Teva boots sadly it is not.
Ahnu was so incredibly comfortable Teva is not in a boot I am so disappointed I have to find another company that provides a wonderful boot the way that Ahnu did.
I'm still giving three stars because they're very lightweight and I'm hoping that eventually they'll break in and get comfortable.
But the Ahnu boot had zero breaking. So I was expecting the same since Teva bought out Ahnu. Ahnu NEVER hurt my feet.
I'm already getting some pain with the Teva boot. Again due to the light weight I'm gonna hope that in a month or in a couple weeks it will break in and be at least somewhat maybe almost as comfortable as there Ahnu boot was.
Teva please follow the exact design of the company you purchased when you make your boots otherwise this is not gonna work.
I've loved your Arrowood Riva leather boots for years, walking many happy miles. But, sadly, the last pairs are worn out and you don't make them any more. This new style is hard to put on, awkward to lace, uncomfortable to wear, leaky in the rain, and not much to look at. So now it appears I'll need to find a new shoe company.
Purchased for outdoor activities - most recently, walking on snow and ice covered sidewalks and streets. Pro: Very sturdy and excellent under foot grip on slippery surfaces. Con: The fit is good in all respects, except tight across the toe knuckles, causing discomfort on the big-toe knuckle. Note, I bought a 1/2 size bigger so I would have room to wear a heavy sock for warmth. Shoe fit is always tricky, especially when purchasing on-line.
The initial fit was uncomfortable as the grommet pressed into the top of the foot. I changed the pattern of the laces from over to under and it took care of the problem.
The shoe is soft all around. It is almost sneaker-ish with a hiking tread. Good for city hikes, however, the question remains, are they supportive and tough enough for the rugged trail? I am leaning- no.
I love the style and the fit of these boots. But being waterproof and goretex these do run very hot and your feet will sweat and get unconfirtably hot. In New York where I am from it is currently winter time and they are bearable outside with the cold. But inside the house you need to remove them ASAP because they get uncomfortable and feet get very sweaty. They advertise for weekend hikes or day hikes but I couldn't imagine treking around in these in the summer months. I really want to wear these shoes year round but I do not think it will be wise or even possible. I decided to keep them for a seasonal shoe/boot but I have to keep hunting for a spring/summer shoe. They should be advertised a little differently in the description I believe.
My initial sizing was tight so I exchanged for a /2 size larger. The exchange is a perfect fit. The boots are very comfortable. Im looking forward to some time in the snow. Good gripping and waterproofing should make snow and cold a breeze
The most comfortable, great for walking and hiking. I bought them as "everyday walkers" for the winter season because they're waterproof and warm, but I'm surprised how comfortable they are, even when wearing them all day.
Just got back from western NC where I wore these all week. Great on the trail and just out and about. Very comfortable. Great grip. Also very stylish. Listened to the reviews and went half a size smaller than I usually wear. Perfect fit.
Amazing boots ! I have two pair. I got these for clubbing instead of hiking due to the looks. The boots look amazing with black and darker tones pants . Very comfortable. I don't wear socks with these boots the interior lining a first rate. Very spacious and comforting on the inside. Five stars!
I ordered these shoes for a planned hiking trip. I have worn them for a couple of days and they are comfortable. As the product description says, the toe area is enlarged to afford more comfort. I like this feature though they look a bit clunky because of it. My feet are narrow so the extra width may become a problem. Not sure the heel is elevated enough, unlike mm current hiking shoes. I like the strap that is incorporated into the laces. It will help hold the foot back while hiking down slopes. I really need to wear the shoes on an extended hike to give a positive rating.
I was in the market for a good hiking shoe/boot that was waterproof and could handle a full day of hiking. I wore these boots fresh out of the box for an hour in the car and then tackled a 7 Mile hike. I was amazed at how well they performed on the trail. It had just rained before we hiked and these boots kept me sure footed the entire time. At the end of the hike my feet weren't sore one bit, keep in mind this was the first time I wore them. Excellent boots. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality boot.
I bought these and wore them a few times walking around the neighborhood before going on a 9 mile hike and another 4 mile hike in Rocky Mountain National Park July 22-27th. They were perfect. They have good grip and good support. I would highly recommend these.
I took these camping, and used these to hike across creeks and rivers. They absorbed some water on the outside, my feet was dry. I was literally walking through 50 ft stretches of 1 to 4 in of water sometimes. They felt amazing to wear all day. Should of ordered a 10.5 but not to big at 11. I say they run half a size big.
