I wear these to walk the dog right now around our yard. I would go barefoot if I could. But these are comfortable. I used to need orthotics, but something either happened to my feet or these sandals have made a difference. The strap to pull them tight could be an inch longer to make it easier to get hold of. I can leave it sort of loose and pull them on and off without adjusting. So it's not a big deal.
Fans of the Hurrican XLT/XLT2 will not be disappointed. Other Teva sandals may be lighter and easier to get on and off, but the Cross Strap fastening feels more secure in bonding your foot to the rugged and protective XLT sole. This one is not going to come loose under any circumstances.
This is my first time trying Tevas. I ordered three pairs of my size online to ensure I got the right fit. Unfortunately, each pair had different strap placement and the straps were too short to easily get my foot in and out of. Everything fits great, but the main pull strap is way too short rendering the shoe non-functional. I will be returning and possibly trying another brand that doesn't skimp on the straps.
I like the straps and the comfortable footbed. The straps are secure, but I wish they were longer. The footbed is quite comfortable, but gets hot and sweaty after a couple of hours. Definitely not great for all day use, especially if you are very active. Falls short on the execution. I'm hoping the design inproves with age.
I bought these sandals because I have always wanted a pair of quality sandals. I was tired of my sandals slapping me in the heel. I first tried them on in Sun and Ski Sports while browsing around. Before seeing them I already had a clear picture of what I wanted my sandals to perform, look like, feel like. I tried on a size 8 and instantly fell in love. I knew these were what I was looking for, but I still checked out all the other sandals. The Chaco sandals seemed sturdy but were heavier than what I wanted. I tried other Teva Hurricane 4 sandals and did not like how the plastic pinched my foot. So I went back to the Hurricane XLT 2 Cross Strap, which has straps that cover the plastic parts and feel really comfortable of toes and the top of the foot. I will say that I did try the size 9 and discovered it was loose and horrible for me. I would suggest that you try the sandal before purchasing if you can to make sure it fits you right. I will also say that I have a wider foot, which the sandals fit well. Also, it was a tight fit at first (which is what I wanted), but since I have owned it for a month it seems to be breaking in nicely and are still secure. Note: I am a student, so I purchased it from Teva because of the student discount after I knew the size I definitely wanted.
First time I got the wrong size. I normally where a 9.5, so I got a 10 and it was way too big... so I did the measurements and got a size 8 (which seemed crazy). The sandal ended up being perfect in length, but it took my a while to fit it on, and was way too tight. Had the strap been longer I could have adjusted it good. I wish this ran in half sizes it might have worked out better.
In the short time I have owned these sandals they have quickly become the most comfortable and versatile ones that I have ever owned. I put my sandals to the test and they are passing with flying colors. They do it all and offer happy feet in the process.
