Poor design, plastic triangle for straps hurts my toes
Very disatified with the new strap system using plastic triangles. They hurt and rub on my toes. The Sport and Halloway were very comfortable . I dont look forward to wearing these and when I do I take them off as soon as I can.
I got introduced to Teva by my girlfriend. At first I was hesitant, but then the designs grew on me. I purchased these and I've been wearing them to college ever since. They're comfortable, snug, and easy to walk in. I went up a size cause I think they didn't have my size (10.5 but went to 11) and they were perfect.
I would buy them if you want to be dissatisfied in 3 months!
After using this sandal daily for less than 3 months the tread starting separating up by the toes. A few more days later it was already half way separated in the middle on the side. This actually makes this fourth pair in less than 3 years that I've run into this issue with all of my Teva sandals. Customer service told me that sounds like normal 'Wear & Tear' and wouldn't be covered under any warranty. Excuse me while I go wash the egg off my face... Oh the good news, one pair I own have been treadless for 3 years and the straps haven't worn off on the bottom yet!
Solid sandals, one of the best I could find for the price
Very solid sandal. Takes a few days to get broken in, but feel great once they are. There's a bit of cushion, especially in the heel. The tread has great grip and is good for going on trails. I like that they're waterproof, and the straps have some extra padding which is nice too. The only downside that I can think of is that they only come in full sizes (like most sandals), so they're a tiny bit long for me, but they're a great deal for what you get.
After seeing how much my wife loved her new Teva's, I purchased these for our trip to Costa Rica. I wore these up trails of dirt, gravel, volcanic rocks, sand, and in water, with zero problems and no blisters. The shoes are very comfortable and I believe the multiple ways to adjust to ensure a perfect fit, prevented any blisters are painful rubs. Great shoe!
At 68 years of age, this is the first summer I have ever worn sandals. My daughter recommended this style and they feel great! I was a little self-conscious wearing them into the grocery store at first but it didn't last for long. Now, I wear them all day and can't imagine going back to shoes. Take some time to get the straps adjusted just right and your feet will thank you.
I use this sandal as a casual shoe in NYC. It stands up well to walking quickly outdoors and going up and down the subway steps. It performs well in the rain as well- despite a slight feeling of your foot slipping when the sandal is wet, the straps do a good job of keeping your foot secure. Definitely a better rain option than flip flops in the summer.
I wish I had discovered these shoes years ago. My first pair was from a DSW store and I ended up wearing them home. The straps never chafed or made the slightest blister. It's the closed thing to going barefoot. I'm addicted to them now. The first pair was the Hurricane XLT and I just purchased the XLT 2. It's interesting that while the XLT size-12 was a perfect fit, I had to exchange the XLT 2 for a size-13.
The XLT 2 has a thicker, beefier sole and and a thicker heel pad on the strap but they are basically the same shoe. If I had my choice, I would prefer the older style. I have some fatigue pain with the XLT 2 that I didn't have before and something seems to be chewing on the ball of my foot.
Never the less, these shoes are keepers and I'll get used to them. They are a fabulous design and I'm already shopping for socks so I can wear them well into the winter. I can't imaging going back to regular shoes!
Have had a chance to wear these a few times now. After tweaking the straps, these are great! They haven't been wet yet so don't know if the glue will hold together (this has been an issue with others). Over all like them.
Came with two different lengths of straps for the arch. One was too short and was unwearable. I'm still waiting for the replacement pair. Teva should have let them cross in the mail as I shipped back the bad ones 10 days ago. I paid for these in advance. The least they could have done was to credit my credit card and then charge me again after they were delivered. The purchase came with an annoying amount of requests for a rating. You would think they would be careful not to do anything to rile up a long-time customer.
I went camping last week and wore these almost every day. On bike rides, walking around camp in the rain, and by the river. The straps make them extremely adjustable so if something started to rub or was too tight I would adjust it until it was good! The grip on the bottom was perfect for slippery rocks and when they got wet they dried quickly.
I'm a 79 year old woman with some mobility problems. I also have a very wide foot and a very high arch! This is why I need to buy a man's sandal. I wear this when I travel to Wyoming from Colorado, when I do easy hiking, and whenever I'm wearing jeans. The straps give enough security to make the sandal very comfortable, and of course the velcro adjustability is essential. I haven't found any negatives for this sandal.
I use my tevas from everything from wearing around the house to hiking. While the sole is thinner than that of my chacos the flexibility and comfortablility is better and the grip is the the same if not better. While I am fans of both brands my Tevas remind me each time I put them on my foot that support with the right amount of cushion is a must for anything strapped to you foot for more than a few hours. Price is definitely an upside too, doesnt break the bank.
It is definitely one of the comfiest sandal I have had. It does have some great grip but wouldn't recommend doing anything physical in them. I have tried actually putting them on rocks and hikes and they do well for a while but there are times my feet ache.
These Teva's were a little small to size and when I adjusted them to fit my feet, the multi-colored aspect (the reason why I purchased them) was lost and the only thing that showed was the turquoise velcro closures. My other pairs of Teva's have the outside patterns showing but with these, the strapping must be much shorter. Very disappointed and returned them immediately
I primarily use my Teva Hurricane XLTs for kayaking and trips to the beach. I just got done speaking with Teva customer service concerning my second pair of sandals falling apart (the sole separates) in less than 6 months. The sandals were probably not worn more than 20 times. Very hard to believe that I have had the same failure mode on the same product, and the other reviews don't reflect that. In the automotive industry, we conducted containment or recalls when we knew defective products had been built and shipped. The gluing or adhesion process is failing, and I can't believe I happened to be the only person to get the defects, while other customers reported a 4.5 rating. I won't be purchasing any further TEVA products until someone from their Customer Satisfaction organization can statistically explain how I got two defective pair within 1 year on a 4.5 rated sandal. Interestingly enough, the adhesive failed on both sandals this morning while washing my truck. Sadly amazing.
As soon as I put the sandals on I could notice a difference in the comfort of the sole. I then read how it had been changed from the original XLT, so I returned then and was lucky to find some original XLTs online.. Bad move TEVA.
