I've had a couple foot surgeries, so a lot of shoes are uncomfortable. These were a little stiff at first, but once they broke in it was very comfortable. I use them for cardio, workouts and just running around. I'd definitely recommend them.
I picked up a pair of Sonic's in the later stages of training for my first marathon. I was cycling through a pair of Apollo 2's and Gemini 3's but with the increased milage I was afraid they wouldn't make it to race day. I was very pleased with the initial feel of the Hovr Sonics. It was a much softer ride than I was used to. Soft , but not squishy which was perfect for all the road miles I had in the heat of August. Fit was snug, but comfortable. No blisters or hotspots and I was using these mostly on long runs so they we're tested early and often. Two points that, while still content with, could improve are 1: They lost that responsiveness a little earlier in the run than I'd hoped. Perfect for a half marathon, but after around 25k, there was little bounce back left. It would return after a day off, but still, I'd have loved that feel right through the 42.2k I ran. 2: durability was acceptable, but I saw pretty noticable wear on the forefoot treds (strange, as I'm a midfoot striker) after less than 200k. I've put another 200k on and the treads are still holding up but I was worried early on. Over all I loved these shoes and would suggest them to any runner as long as they are part of a few pairs, or for lower milage training and runs.
I bought the red ones when they came out and out lots of miles on them and they held up well with normal tread wear. They still have some life left but picked up another pair of the gray and black ones. Now I use the older red ones outside and the gray and black at the gym. Says something about a shoe when you are a repeat customer. Great comfort, cool style, breathable, high performance show all around. I'll be picking up another pair around spring.
I have worn 10.5 size athletic shoes from a number of different manufacturers, but these were way too small, and I have to return them. This was my first UA purchase, so I am going to be very careful going forward. You should warn folks about the size issue for these shoes.
I really wanted to like these shoes because I love the pair of under armour that I own. But these run small. I tried them a day and my toes couldn’t take it by the end. I bought that same 10.5 I always wear but these didn’t match up. Will have to return.
I decided to get these instead of the other model which looks like it has more foam. I have to compare this shoe to my Bandit 3 shoe. I fit all of my jogging shoes with replacement foam insoles and it seems very close to the Bandit 3 which has the soft compound Charge. Both have soft strobel boards and good forefoot feel. The HOVR foam seemed firm feeling it with my finger but the out sole also is very soft like Cushlon. The upper, however, is another story. It allowed me to use my thicker insole and still had room. I like toe room and it flexes with my feet. Both shoes are neutral runners which I recommend anyone to try instead of knocking the brand
I bought these because the connected version was sold out. Well... And I love the style. I got the Moroccan Blue and they look amazing. I'd say the comfort is below what you'd get from my last pair from another top brand and that's why I have them a star off. They still perform great though.
One last caveat: Under Armours own app (Map my run) doesn't list these shoes in their shoe tracking section. The only way you can get mileage tracking is to buy the connected version.
I absolutely love the look of these shoes. I got the red ones and they are perfect for me. The sizing was right in line with all other UA shoes I have. The HOVR technology is great, definitely not just a gimmick. I do have one complaint about these shoes however. I tend to wear no-show socks and with these shoes my heels rub against the shoes a lot. I know that kind of happens with most running shoes, but these are really bad. I'm not exactly sure why it happens, but it is a slight inconvenience having to specifically choose longer socks to wear with this one pair of shoes.
The UA HOVR Sonics were my favorite shoes with great stability and cushioning but after ~ 300 km of walking (I'm a big guy} it feels like the inside edge in the heel area of one shoe has lost support resulting in heel slippage and foot twisting. Great shoes but wish they would of lasted longer for me.
These are some fairly comfortable shoes but lack some stability given the material on the sides. I found that my feet would shift some in the shoe when running and would be cautious if there was uneven ground because I did not want to turn my ankle. I purchased the Phantoms and prefer them as they provide a little more stability with the base and style of the shoes or the strive 7s. May be good for straight and even surfaces.
There’s an old saying you get what you pay for! These shoes fit this to a “T”. They are the best fitness shoes I’ve ever had and talk about comfort they feel great on your feet!! I ordered the same size as my old shoes and they fit perfect. My next fitness shoes will be another pair of these!!
Size is just fit with enough width, pretty comfortable to my feet. HOVR midsole is really energetic for me. Light with great performance. The durability still need time to confirm, but seems the rubber look ok after 1st 5km test run. I will strongly recommend this shoe for daily practice or even competition (marathon).
I never thought I could find a pair of runners so comfortable. I thought I would try Hovr Sonics. They are the most comfortable runner hands down. I don't do a lot of running but they are great for power walks and shopping at the mall too.
The first size 11's I purchased were more like 10.75's, the second pair in a different color... perfect fit. So, some inconsistent sizing, but these shoes are really comfortable, and make excellent walking/training shoes. 310 miles on these and looks as though I will exceed the standard 400 mile usefulness limit.
I've tried most of Nike's running shoes and none of them match the level of comfort or performance that this shoe provides. Its been comfortable without losing the free motion I need and has great durability.
