  • Shaft: Steel Nippon NS Pro Modus Tour 105

With the JPX 900 Hot Metal Iron we set out to Engineer the Longest Hottest - broad appeal iron we've ever made. By utilizing new materials and new methods of construction we were able to produce an iron with an unmatched level of ball speed.

Chromoly 4140M:

  • 15% stronger material than 17-4 pH Stainless steel provides the added strength for our hottest face ever.
  • Ultra-thin face combined with our re-engineered CORTECH multi-thickness design provides superior initial ball speed for maximum distance.

Power Frame:

  • More mass is pushed to the extreme perimeter of the club head for industry leading MOI.
  • POWER FRAME geometry is a result of our Harmonic Impact Technology.
  • The rigid POWER FRAME provided an extremely solid impact sound while allowing maximum face rebound.

Unitized Cup Face Geometry:

  • Through complex development techniques we were able to achieve Unitized Cup Face Geometry delivering a massive COR AREA.
  • Unitized Cup Face Geometry also provides more discretionary weight than welded cup face designs thus allowing for a deeper CG and greater forgiveness.

I owned a Set of MX23s for Years and from time to time bought and tried other irons but always came back to the Mizunos most recently Taylormade P790s.... The JPX 900 Hot Metals are the best irons out there...IMO....But Them Now You won't be disappointed.

Simply incredible irons
Clearly the best irons I have ever played. Great improvement over my JPX800's. The technology is great. These feel like forged irons and have a massive sweet spot. I cannot imagine how the next generation could be any better.

Rusty too
My club pro look at me as if I had two heads when I told him to take a look. He called Mizuno and they admitted the problem of rust building up. Their solution was for me to send them back and they would clean them. What, every few weeks??? I am pushing them to replace them as this set did not get glazed or over coated properly.

Love these irons!
Got fit for a set of these a couple of months ago. Went in with an idea of the clubs I wanted, and frankly Mizuno was not even on the radar. And then I hit them....Wow. It's all I can say. I have now played several rounds with them, and feel like I can provide an informed assessment. These are the best irons I have ever hit, by far. Long, straight, (but with workability), and consistent in distance and ball flight. The feel is amazing. So glad I found these! For information, I'm a 12 handicap.

Fantastic Set
It is rare to get this level of feel from a set of game improvement irons. I don't know how Mizuno have done it but I'm not complaining. Centre strikes just melt into the sweet spot and stick to the face for that brief moment before rocketing off. They are long but they launch high as well so I have no trouble holding greens even with the 5 iron. They look good at address with a medium topline, the sole is a little wide for my liking but that is what gives it the high launch and forgiveness. Mishits hold their line well with not too much distance lost. Be sure to get fit with the shaft optimizer, it is a fantastic tool that gave me a much better flight and distance over the stock offering with no up charge for any shafts or grips. Gotta love Mizuno!!!

Long, forgiving, and.....rusty?
The clubs swing great, have solid contact (not quite the forged feel but still great for a cast club). They are incredibly long, and fairly forgiving on miss hits. I've pushed and pulled a few but no crazy hooks or slices.

My only issue with these clubs is that they rust. Like second time using them there was rust on them. Small marks on the face surprised me after the first couple rounds. I clean my clubs after each shot, and have them in individual head covers but they are SOFT! Not to mention the rust, yes rust. The 360 cup design hides grass and rust as well so youll need a good set of pipe cleaners get fish that out....

Distance, feel and accuracy - what more could you ask for?
I had been playing a set of Ping i15 irons for seven years before deciding to get a new set. I was convinced I would buy another set of Pings, but after trying several new Ping models (game improvement and blades) as well as those from all the other major manufacturers, I couldn't find anything that had the same soft feel and superior accuracy of the JPX 900 Hot Metal irons. My experience at the store has translated into performance on the course. It's as if you just have to put a decent hit on the ball and the club does the rest. Even shots that don't catch the sweet spot fly far and straight. The extra distance is a bonus.

Longest irons period
Switched from Callaway Apex which were already long...and these are even longer. I had forged irons before this (Mizuno and Callaway) and was hesitant to try "hot metal". After I nuked my 8i 168 with the hot metal, I was over the forged right away.
