This was my first pair of Topos, and if they're all as awesome a these MTN Racer 3 Trail Running shoes, then I'll be a loyal Topo fan forever. They are so so comfy right out of the box. Nice and squishy cloud-like fluffy sole. But, I am a heavy woman and am often wary of running shoes because the knit doesn't always give my feet the structure/support needed. The material the upper is comprised of isn't a fabric mesh, but kind of a plastic, (but not plasticky feeling) mesh. Hard to explain. I think they call it engineered mesh and I'm down for it. It totally DOES offer the support I need to keep my ankles from rolling. And, even better is that the cushy sole is wide, so you set your feet not just on top of them, but kind of into them - like they're perfectly molded to envelop for your foot. Have never felt so confident in my stability in any other running shoes before. Great arch support, too. Love the beautiful aqua color. I wear a 9 medium in most sneakers, which I got here. However, if you don't like your toes actually touching the inside front, probably best to size up half a size.
