Perfect for day hunting
I have worn this on a couple hikes and weekend turkey hunting trip. The real test will come this fall on my September elk hunt, but I feel that I have used it enough to give a fair assessment.

This pack is great, especially for how I plan to use it. (Mainly day hunting and packing out elk and deer).

The pack has features I didn’t know I wanted. The 270 degree zipper is incredibly usefully. The interior open pockets with elastic top is also very convenient. I used the pocket closest to the zipper for cold weather (beanie, gloves, etc). I like the exterior pockets that can be used over the side tension straps.

The pack was was relatively easy to adjust. Took a few tries to get the macro adjustments. It’s easier to do with two people, but can done individually. I made some minor adjustments in the field and the pack is very comfortable! Max weight I have carried so far is about 35 lbs over only a few miles. The pack was great.

I find the pack to have ample room for day use, but can be cinched down tightly if you have only a small load.

I would recommend this pack.

Good so far
I bought this pack for hunting season and haven’t had it out yet. But, fit and feel so far is great! I packed it with the usual gear for a day hunt (that includes the essentials for unplanned overnights and put it on to check sizing, weight distribution, etc. Just that “test run” has me looking forward to getting woods. I run a MR fireline pack at work so I have no concern about quality.

Great for a 3 day pack
Using the same frame as my Metcalf it promises to be comfortable on long hauls and heavy loads. Size is great for a 72hr bag and 270° zipper is awesome.

Almost perfect
This is a nearly-perfect day or ultralight weekend hunting pack. Little needs to be said about the quality: Mystery Ranch deserves its top-tier reputation for quality, and this pack is no exception. The Guide Light MT frame is a stunning thing, disappearing on your back with light loads and settling in nicely with ~100lbs or more. There's nothing comfortable about carrying 100lbs on your back, but none of the discomforts came from the pack itself on a ~4mi packout with half a bear on my back last fall. I hope to repeat that experience many times :).

My only nitpicks are about the design. The 270 zip is its own animal, and it requires a bit of adjustment of expectations when packing the bag for a trip. Nothing wrong with it, it just falls and folds differently than true top loaders. When you're stumbling into camp after a long hike and need to get to your gear quick, that 270 zip really shines.

The main reason for a 4 rather than 5 star rating is the omission of a feature that IMO is obvious and glaring -- the bottom straps that secure the pack to the frame do not have buckles. This makes it extremely annoying, if not impossible, to use the straps to carry a tent, sleeping pad, etc. Given that this is a 45 litre pack, the ability to (easily) strap things to the bottom of the bag would be extremely beneficial when pushing it into an overnight or weekend trip. The only other nit to pick is the lack of any elastic bands on the shoulder straps for securing/managing hydration tubes.

All in all, this is a typically excellent pack from MR.

Untested, but great design and construction
I haven't had a chance to put it to the test in the field yet, but I love the design and the quality of the pack. It is very well engineered with quality hardware. Sits nice on my back and hips with plenty of room for adjustment. Can't wait to take it on a long hiking and camping trip.

Rides like a Cadillac
Real nice pack. Once you get it adjusted for your height and waist belt angle it feels like you’re carrying much less weight than you actually are. Quality zippers and pockets are in the right place. I highly recommend

Perfect for Ultralight Hunting
Search the internet over and you won’t find a single review that doesn’t list this pack as a daypack or “quick overnighter”. If you are like me, and carry the lightest most minimalist hunting gear, this pack has plenty of space for you. I use it to elk hunt in my home state of CO and can easily get 4-5 days of gear in this bad boy. Excellent purchase. Highly recommend.

Perfect Backcountry 1-2 Day Pack and Meat Hauler
Prefect volume for a day pack or over night bag that still has the strength, support, and functionality of a meat hauler. Well designed and fits as advertised. The internal layout and zipper structure are perfect to secure and organize gear, but also not an inconvenience to regularly access.
