Found it awesome to have a pouch on the shoulder strap of my 2DAP to keep my phone handy for ONX viewing...the front pouch is an awesome place to keep my windicator chalk handy when bow hunting as well..awesome addition with the range finder pouch
1. The pouch is about 1/8" - 1/4" too narrow to fit most cell phones with some sort of weather-proof case. It fits, but it's a really tight squeeze and there's a lot of fumbling around to get the phone out in a hurry if needed (911/medical issues)
2. I have concerns that the 'straps' that hold this holster to the line-gear will actually hold the holster to the belt when my gear gets tossed into and out of a rig. Some type of d-ring arrangement would have been a more secure design
3. I can see the elastic strap that closes the pouch losing its elasticity after a couple of seasons, if not hooked on something first. Again, a plastic clip or a d-ring configuration may have been a better design.
I have had this pouch for the past 2 months and I am very happy with it. Only a few things could be improved upon and that is its overall size could be 1/4 inch bigger and I replaced the zipper pulls with 550 cord with heat shrink over it to improve ease of one handed use.
I purchased this a month ago and the quality is just like everything else at mystery ranch, it's absolutely incredibly built and rugged as you could ask for. But I won't be able to use it because the inner dimensions are not what they say and my phone will not fit in the pouch and zip closed.
I just received this and I can't decide if I'll keep it or not. I have a OnePlus 8 Pro with a very slim case on. It measures at 6.75" and I have to really finesse the zippers to get it to close. There's NO room for a beefier case at all. 7" is the measurement is of the outside of the pocket, not the actual space inside. It would be difficult to access your device quickly for maps etc which to me was the whole point. If I have to fight with it every time I want my phone out I might as well just put it in the the Large Forager Pocket. The quality and features are great as always but they missed the mark considering the average size of modern phones.
Just got the new tech holster to be able to carry my galaxy s9+ on my pack shoulder strap now that I'm using it for my GPS. As usual its very well made and versatile. It fits my phone in an otter box and still has room for misc small items.
I bought this for my smart phone and it fit perfect the only thing I would add would be some kind of a quick metal belt hanger that could be added it has a web system that works but would be nice to have both options and a loop or small flashlight pocket would be a nice add on but very functional as is and would recommend
