We purchased these shoes for my son last year, however, during Covid and quarantine he was not wearing these shoes. He has gone back to school over the past few months and has worn these shoes to school everyday. He is a senior and a huge fan of Giannis, and loves these shoes but, they squeak so much when he walks that he hates wearing them and complains everyday about it along with being teased at school about his squeaky shoes. We love the style and look, but can't give a 5 star rating with the squeak aggrevation.
Great shoes and wonderful looks out of the package but totally different when you try to put them on. It’s very uncomfortable to get into the shoes, the opening is very small. Also the lace built and the holes are poorly designed so it’s difficult to loose the cuff. I was able to get one foot in, gave up on trying the other with the struggle involved.
I have two pairs of these shoes and have loved every part from the fit to feel and performance, But the quality of material and build is terrible. After playing outside for less than 2 weeks, the shoe's front had split open into both pairs.
As soon as I saw this shoe, I knew that it was what I wanted for the upcoming season. I tried them on and they fit to size and were decently padded. When I laced up for my first practice, the were very tight on the tongue and my feet started to hurt after a few minutes. Now I have learned to lace them very loose, but enough to keep them on my feet. They feel quite clunky like a brick on your foot and there isn't too much padding on the bottom, so my heels and knees began to hurt after a few practices. I have owned these for maybe 4 months and the materials are starting to fall apart slightly after about 3 uses a week for basketball only. I bought some LeBron's last year and will buy another pair for the upcoming AAU season.
I got these in the beginning of January and have been competitively playing basketball in them since. They have amazing traction, and they don’t make my feet hurt like other shoes have in the past. I have broken every shoe that I’ve played in in the first month for the past 6 years, and have not broken these yet. Great shoe. I will be using Zoom Freaks for years to come.
Excellent fit and price. Best shoe for the it’s price.
I bought these for my good friend’s birthday. He needed new basketball shoes and I really hit the spot with these. Great price, great fit and the perfect shoe if you want elite basketball sneakers to help your on court performance without wasting $200. They shipped out super quick and actually came a day before his birthday even though they were scheduled to get here the week after! Super happy thank you Nike!!
This is a good shoe, it runs true to size but for people with wide feet, id recommend they go up half a size. It is not as comfortable as a lebron 17 or 18, but easily better than other shoes. I have been using using these for two hours a day, 5 days a week, and i have had very minimal fraying. Overall I would easily recommend this shoe to anyone.
The durability feels good, the materials feel like they will last a long time, I would say 5 for that. The fit feels good for what I normally wear, would give that a 5 as well. I got to play on some outside courts but the responsiveness in the shoes were great. Overall I love this shoe! Love these shoes, played outside with these shoes, the responsiveness is really good. These shoes are also very comfortable just for casual use too. I went on a 4 mile walk in these shoes. My favortie basketball shoes I have played in yet.
they were amazing! I got to play in them last night and I loved it. It was the first time wearing the shoes and I didn’t get any blisters, they’re extremely comfortable to play in! I’d rate it a 5 out of 5 for two main reasons. The comfort was noticeable right away, and the control while playing was incredible. The shoe responded exactly how I wanted it to every time and every move I made felt like I had complete control. The durability and materials of the shoe seem better than the first generation so I was impressed with that as well. The fit was good, the width was right on. The shoe feels like the toe is a little longer than the first generation so that took a little while to adjust to but besides that it fit great! It’s an extremely comfortable shoe that responds exactly how you would want it to while doing whatever moves you try!
I haven't had the chance to play with these indoors, but the Zoom Freak 2s are light, very supportive, and seem to have good grip/traction. I wish I could feel the zoom in the forefoot a bit more, and the midsole feels a little stiff, but the padding in the upper and all around support and lockdown make this a really solid basketball sneaker. Hopefully the midsole will break in and the cushioning will get a bit softer in time.
I absolutely loved these shoes! The design is super cool, they are extremely comfortable. I loved wearing these at the gym and to play basketball. If you liked the Zoom Freak 1s you'll love the Zoom Freak 2s!
Ankle was very supported. Felt like the whole heel/ankle area was being hugged by a pillow. They seem very durable, after the first few wears. The sizing was just right, the freak 1s seemed to run a little smaller. Love the design, super grippy sole, easy to get in an out of, structured for comfort.
For the size ill give it a 4 because they run a little small, comfort ill give it a 5, i have wide feet and these are amazing for me, and durability a 5 because the material makes it easy to make cuts and just run on the court, and the shoe wont break at all. So the shoe gets a 5 overall i love it
These were tight getting on feet at first but once you loosen up the laces it sort of formed to your foot. The shoe cradles your foot and it feels protected. I couldn't play ball due to quarantine but I did a sprint work out with suicides and didn't feel slippage at all. They look slightly bulky but feel incredibly light on feet. I got the black/white colorway and man they are fire on feet. I started wearing them casually. The swoosh detail adds a nice pop in the design while keeping an overall clean look.
The shoe is nice and supportive in the ankle area, but gives your foot to feel less-constricted near the front of the shoe. Also, my normal shoe size in this shoe fits perfectly. I had 0 issues with the durability of the shoe, and I tend to make a lot of cuts / speed changes while playing.
This shoe is a major upgrade from the Freak 1 when it comes to style and performance. I currently play in LeBron 17s because of the cushion but the Freak 2 might just be my new basketball shoe! I could tell right off the break how well the shoe was holding my foot in place which is crucial because most shoes I feel like you have to break it in by playing a few games first. I really like how the heel and the forefoot are decoupled and I can feel the shank helping my stability while I play. I really like is how you can really feel that zoom air in the forefoot and also how lightweight the shoe was especially compared to the Lebron 17s. I normally play indoors but given the how good the traction of the shoe is it would be great for indoors and/or outdoors. Last but not least the reason I say this could be my new basketball shoe is the price point of $130! It’s not too often you can buy the league MVPs shoes for $130 and get your moneys worth in style and performance. Also in the days of people buying shoes for style over performance this shoe has a lot eye appeal. The oversized Nike logo on the midsole combined with the small details like his families’ name on the sole itself make this a shoe not only for ballers but for sneaker heads in general. Personally I can’t wait until the other colors of the Freak 2 drops so I can pick up more!
I was a big fan of the freak 1 so to receive the freak 2 as a gift was a blessing. The sizing I would say is almost true to size. I think it’s a bit longer than the freak 1. The comfort is amazing. As soon as I put it on it was such an easy shoe to play in. The traction Is the only down side. Although it has a very well traction system, I’m afraid of the durability of it. After wearing one time I can see the traction start to peel on the forefoot. Overall. I loved the shoe.
I usually prefer high tops to play basketball and be active in, however these were great. Awesome traction and stability. One thing I will mention, I am usually VERY true to size with NIKE 10.5, but these did fit a little snug. If I would have known, I would have went a half size up to 11. I love the detail omg he swoosh and the ice bottoms
No blisters but my foot was abit hot Probably becuz of the material the ventilation could have been better but I guess for the price point it’s decent I would like Nike to slim down the usage on the clear outsoles becuz for one they do tend wear faster on court both indoor and outdoor and also they tend to yellow much quicker But the traction was surprisingly good since I really do enjoy herringbone these were solid for being clear sole I definitely enjoyed the cushioning system with the forefoot zoom I kinda wish Nike would go back to using full length zoom like one of my favorite all time hoops shoes the Nike Zoom Turbine and Nike Zoom BB The traction was really good considering the dust in the gym was bad The cut of the shoe is perfect It’s not a low but not a mid just perfect The shoe feels very fast Overall I definitely enjoyed these ALOT more than the Freak1 And the material on these Freak2 do feel more durable
Well first and foremost, the design in my opinion is flawless from the hints of his Greek origin, to his shoutouts to his family are all amazing! The fit is perfect and true to size, great heel and forefoot lockdown! It feels a lot similar to the Kobe signature line and that line was top tier. The cushioning with the air zoom felt as if you are walking on clouds and it’s just amazing. This colorway of this shoe is great but I know there are future colorways releasing that will make this shoe 10x better on the court! My favorite thing about this shoe is the traction, a good squeak to it along with it feeling like it is reliable in the forefoot and heel! Overall a 9.5/10 shoe! Once these colorways come out it will be a 10/10!
A very nice improvement from the ZF1. The decoupled outsole was a pleasant surprise how well it allows your foot to move freely yet securely while making cuts laterally, and the zoom bag in the forefoot is a huge upgrade compared to being doubled stacked in the heel. The materials used for the uppers has a nice rugged yet sleek feel, each overlay and component you can sense is genuinely there for a reason towards performance and not just there for looks. Can’t wait to see and collect the upcoming colorways!
The Freak 2s are absolutely amazing! With everything going on I have not been able to play any hoops in them. However, they do feel great on the feet and I have been wearing them 10 plus hours a day working retail. They are definitely eye-catching and are always complimented by others! They appear to be slightly bulkier that the Freak 1 but are just as light on the feet. These shoes make you want to move and keep going all day!
I have been getting in some runs on the court with them the past few days. BIG BIG fan so far! I loved the Zoom Freak 1 (one of my favorite Nike hoops shoes in some time) and these are a definite improvement while still maintaining a lot of the things I liked about the Freak 1 such as the fit and court feel. Also think they look great visually. Great progression for the line!
Love these shoes. These Zoom Freak 2s are perfect for any style of play both on and off the court. I tested them in multiple pickup games, and can truly say that I have never worn a more comfortable basketball shoe. I play a lot of pickup games over the course of a week, and am constantly cutting and changing speed/direction. These shoes allowed me to do all that comes natural to my game, without my feet throbbing once I take them off at the end of my hoop session. Plus, they are a great looking shoe. I am very much looking forward to getting some continued use out of these!
Very impressed with the craftsmanship and overall build of the shoe - support is fantastic with the ankle padding and the forefoot zoom has a nice bounce to it. Traction worked great outdoors and indoors; they feel light yet durable. Nice improvement over the Zoom Freak 1!
