Continue the next evolution of speed with a racing shoe made to you help chase new goals and records. The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 2 builds on the model racers everywhere love. It helps improve comfort and breathability with a redesigned upper. From a 10K to a marathon, the 2 still has the responsive cushioning and secure support to push you towards your personal best.
Still the Best Energy Return Yet Nike ZoomX foam delivers Nike Running's greatest energy return yet. A full-length carbon fiber plate creates a responsive feel that keeps you moving through your stride. Ultra-Breathable and Soft A redesigned upper uses mesh fabric placed in areas where you need breathability. The result is a softer, cooler design that conforms to your foot. Secure Containment Reinforcement along the forefoot provides extra durability and secure comfort. An internal foam pod at the heel gives you extra cushioning. Light padding on the tongue helps reduce lace pressure at the top of your foot. The laces loop through lightweight side supports that eliminate the need for an arch band. This helps reduce the shoe's weight. A wider toe area gives a roomier fit. Flexibility grooves on the sole give you multi-surface traction in a variety of weather conditions.
I got the Bowerman edition the day it came out and could not have been happier spending $200+ on a pair of shoes. I got them for my first marathon and they've held up great except for one weak spot on the inside heel. Right before the inside rubber on the heel of each shoe, I have worn off a small patch of foam. If the rubber on the inner side was just as long as the outer side, I wouldn't have this problem. It doesn't seem to cause any functional issues though. Still love the shoes, this just irks me.
This shoe is amazing by all means. Yet people need to know that this shoe is for racing only and maybe some very fast trainings or unless you can afford them every 3-4 months then you might can to train in them every training. But if you want to improve your results then this is the right shoe for you. From 21m on 5km to 18:02 and from 43m on 10k to 39:50.
Just under 400 miles, it seems like my pair are at the end of their life. I ordered another of the same pair to replace them. There is simply no other distance running shoe that I’ve tried that gives such amazing energy return.
Lightweight, supportive, but most of all, incredibly springy.
The mesh upper is not only breathable, but fantastic in the rain or humid Florida Summer mornings. There is no significant damage after ~400 hard miles.
The shark’s teeth shoelaces are the smallest touch that makes the largest difference; these simply do not come unlaced/untied.
These are not walking shoes. These are not shoes for slow jogs. These are shoes for your fast runs, your races, your speed work.
The only area this shoe could improve is a redesigned colorway. For the most advanced running shoe I have ever touched, it could be dressed more the part; maybe futurist style/colors like the Space Hippie series.
At full retail price, I highly recommend this pair; if you can get them discounted, they simply cannot be beat. This shoe helped me grow immensely in my running this year.
These shoes provide the best bonuses to your character statistics. +20% Movement Speed +10 Agility +15 Strength -5 Sneak +100 Style I’ve been battling monsters for years and Nike creates the best workout gear to aid me on my quest. These Sabatons are incredibly comfortable and responsible. Really help you react quickly to things. Comfortable and stylish as well. Pictured are the custom version I made using “Nike By You”.
These shoes were great early on but I'm disappointed by how quickly the toe seems to be wearing out. Ive put 155 miles on these and have worn through the rubber part of the front on both shoes. Good bounce when new but bummer that they seem to give out after a few month at such a high price.
These are incredible shoes, but they wear out very quickly. During my last marathon it appears the fabric started to seperate from the sole and I am very nervous to use them for my next race. Shoe failure during a marathon will make hitting the wall a positive experience.
So I’m a high school cross country athlete that wanted to get a shoe that would potentially give me a little boost for my xc season. I bought the vaporflys as racing flats and my first race using them, I got a big hole in the outer mid sole. Kinda disappointed with the durability, but they felt good while racing. There kinda overrated tho. I would rather race with the Alphaflys over the Vaporflys because I feel like I get a better boost with the Alphaflys
You can see the hole that was made while racing with them
These are by far the best running shoes I’ve have ever worn, the only thing that I can even say is bad about these shoes is the longevity I have a pair that I have used for about 200 miles and, they still function but the cushion is really worn out and flattened. The carbon fiber plate as well I think was so worn out that you hardly felt the bounce anymore. On the other hand I bought I just bought a brand new pair and they are amazing so what I would do is save this shoe until a big race days or they will wear out very quickly.
Excellent shoes with superb comfort for distance running. I wish that they were more durable, however. The sole of the shoe ripped apart on me during a 5 mile run when it got caught in some uneven pavement with very little force.
These shoes are incredible!! I purchased these to help manage my painful foot diagnosis, Hallux Limitus, caused by 15+ years of playing competitive tennis, which has destroyed my big toe joints. The carbon fiber technology in these shoes provide the protection my toe joints need allow me to still run and walk long distances. These shoes are superior to all all the Hoka’s I’ve purchased in the past. Very happy with these and highly recommend to anybody who’s doctor prescribes stiff toe/carbon fiber shoes for joint pain management.
Definitely all hype. First of all,it’s way Over priced. I thought the material would have a nice feel to it like previous Nike shoes I’ve owned and for $250 I was expecting maybe something even better. The shoe feels like it’s made of some cheap material, the paint was already chipping off before I even wore them. They feel even worse on your feet, these shoes hurt my feet worse than the boots I use to wear in the military. I would absolutely wear any other shoe on my feet but these. So uncomfortable, cheap material and overpriced.
The Next % are my favorite running shoes. Due to physical injuries I sustained while serving in the US Marine Corps, it is incredibly painful to run. Refusing to give up running, I began experimenting with the various running shoes on the market. When I discovered the Next %’s, I found my answer. Unfortunately, the Next % 2’s are a step back. I hurt in places I don’t versus the Next %’s. I don’t know what changed in the 2’s. I just know I’m stocking up on the first version, in case they cease being on the market.
This shoe is awesome. Tried out for a speed work. Light, bouncy, while gives responsiveness when run fast. Not sure how the magic works though. I guess zoomx and carbon plate are well glued together. The durability is a question mark at this moment.
The upper is much improved and fits more like the 4% my feet are much cooler. I am very hot natured and last years model made my feet to hot and I was unable to wear them. I will definitely buy another pair of the next % 2.
I got these today and took them out for a 5k run straight out of the box. Aqua color is great, same responsiveness as Next% 1. My only con is locked down. I experienced a lot of heel slippage even though I bought my same size as in Next% 1. It must be the new flexible upper or perhaps because the front-foot seems wider. Pretty certain this is what is causing the slippage. Some like the new upper, some don't. I personally don't. It's a shame as I was looking forward to these. I am lucky to have 2 pairs of Next% 1. Valerian Blue and the Pink Blast. Will always be a Nike fan.
Switched to Nike in 2018, 2 pairs of Zoom Fly SPs ( size 9) and 4 pairs of Pegasus Turbo 2 (size 8) later, took this shoe in size 8.5 today , shaved off my Turbo 2 record by more than 20 seconds per mile on a 5 mile run. This shoe is also the most comfortable. Mid foot striker.
