Product Description

Engineered to deliver your longest shots with confident precision, the BLACK FX1000 is set to raise eyebrows and expectations among long-range shooters. Competition-ready straight from the box, BLACK FX1000 integrates renowned Nikon optics into its first focal plane optical system for tack-sharp images and dialing functionality at any magnification and distance. Proprietary glass-etched tactical reticles paired with precise, high-speed turrets allow fast, repeatable distance corrections and intuitive hold-off points. And for rapid return to your zero, the FX1000 debuts Nikon’s BLACK Return-to-Zero integral zero-stop in the elevation turret.

Nikon’s proprietary FX-MOA reticle was created expressly for the first focal plane optical system used in the BLACK FX1000 riflescope. Each reticle is designed to optimize the sight picture and provide the tools necessary for ranging, holdover and windage corrections. Illuminated reticle models with side-mounted control offer 10 intensity levels of red illumination with OFF switch between each step for quick, easy brightness adjustments. Extremely durable, yet fine and detailed reticle design that maintains color and contrast in all light conditions.

Windage and elevation turrets provide 25 MOA adjustments per revolution (60 MOA max. internal adjustment) and are clearly marked for quick adjustments. Smooth-turn aluminum ring with rubberized eye guard allows crisp reticle focus and quick target acquisition. Side Parallax knob allows adjustment without changing shooting position. O-ring sealed to prevent moisture from entering body and nitrogen purged for total reliability against thermal shock. Shockproof construction shrugs off hard recoil and rugged use.

Just picked up this scope ( 07/31/18 ) mounted it and headed to the range. I shot at 100 Y ( zero ) and the at 200 Y around twenty rounds.

First impression Very Clear, Tracks spot on and the zero stop is very nice. I don't see any reason why this scope won't perform at longer ranges.

disappointed in reticle
Was excited to get this FX model in FFP for long range shooting. Unfortunately when I dial to max magnification (24) the bottom of the reticle is cut off eliminating about 5-10 of the MOA drop calculation. This is critical on long range shots when looking to hold for elevation. You can still dial it in but for a scope such as this, touted as a long range precision scope I would expect better quality on the reticle function. I have some other high quality scopes in FFP and you can dial to max mag and still see the full reticle. The other functions of the scope seem great, but I am not going to mount this on my rifle due to the reticle. Unfortunately I will need to return it and invest in something else. Probably a Vortex PST Gen 2 5x25x50 FFP in similar price range. I have other NIKON scopes I love, and I really like NIKONS spot on ballistic match system, but the reticle cut off on this one at max mag is a deal breaker.. I called NIKON and the girl I spoke with acted like she didn't know what I was really talking about but put me on hold and looked through another one in house and said it was doing the same thing so I dont think its just my scope. I'm surprised NIKON wouldn't catch and fix this during QC before putting it on the market, dang it!

I was able to get my scope as soon they came available. I waited a month to get it and was it worth it. The clicks are great and I love how easy it is to set the zero stop. The glass is very clear definitely are par with higher end scopes of the same size and also would recommend the black precision rings with the scope love it!
