The option to add my own coffee grounds or use pods was great! But 7 months in, my husband added a pod and it LITERALLY blew up, when I say blew up, Coffee EVERYWHERE... out every single crack, all over my kitchen, down the cabinets, on the floor. We thought at first it must have just been the pod was bad. So we cleaned it really well, ran it through a cleaning cycle several times, cleaned every single part, etc. Let it completely dry, and tried again. NOPE, round two did the same thing. So disappointing from a NInja product. Some brands of k-cups are more susceptible than others. The high altitude instructions to push the k-cups down during insertion are flat out wrong.(Location is at 7100 feet.) The inner filter will be pierced most of the time. \nIf there is excessive vapor released and a low volume of brewed coffee then DO NOT OPEN THE LID. Opening the lid promptly will cause the grounds to explode all over you and your room as well as throughout the machine internals. There is no pressure sensor to prevent or warn of this situation. The pierced filter can release grounds that plug the fluid path. The keurig k80 series that this machine replaced had never pierced a filter in 4 years and more than 2000 k-cups. \nThe frother works well but is hard to clean. Frothing hot soapy water \nfollowed by a toothbrush under running water works.\nBrews better than average coffee when it works. \nPurchased at Best Buy. Well within a few days I found it leaking from the base so I exchanged it. This time I kept getting grounds plus it was taking a very long time to brew. Babysat it one morning and found the top would not latch. There's a lip plus a type of latch that was locked in place. Tried to depress it, tried to force the top down and only succeeded in scraping my knuckles. I'm a lot disappointed because all our othe Ninja products are great! My Keurig was breaking every year, so I thought it was time to try something new. I was attracted to all of the various drink options as well. \n\nThat being said, my coffee just isn’t as good - especially with the pods, which is what I use most often. Even on the “rich” setting, my coffee is weak. It also does not measure out the coffee properly. I’ll select 10 ounces and get 4 ounces. I have also spend countless hours on the phone or zoom calls to troubleshoot the issue.
