This was a replacement for my 20-year-old pack. I was embarrassed to send in my old pack for repair and, surprisingly, Osprey sent me a replacement. So grateful for their policy and standing behind my original purchase so long ago. Really enjoying some of the improvements of the feature set of the new Atmos. One negative point - I am struggling to zip the pouches on the hip belt while wearing the pack. Should work easily one-handed but it does not work well. Encountered another backpacker with the same model that said he was having the same problem. His pack and mine were both brand new. Hoping it improves with use and break-in. Really pumped on the pack overall. I personally use the 50 L and it is the perfect size for 1-3 night trips. It is extremely comfortable with around 30lbs of gear. I love the sleeping bag pocket on the bottom of the pack, absolute necessity and only a feature on the atmos AG NOT the atmos LT. The pack is super comfy to wear and I love the suspension system. My only gripe (which is a big deal to me) is that it is really narrow and tall to make the 50L. My equipment isn't ultra light but not low end bulky stuff either. The sleeping bag and tent alone make the seams want to burst. I stored my food in the top cover pocket which made it awkward when you had to get in the bag. Overall I like it, just wish I got the 65L which might make a difference. I recently received this as a warranty replacement while on my AT thru hike. No hassle whatsoever and was throughly impressed with the whole situation and especially their customer service. The changes from the older design include two side zippers for the main compartment which has already been very useful I've found. They also changed how the trekking poles are held which seems to also be an improvement. The entire harness has also been redesigned for more comfort with additional padding and rubberized mesh. The water bottle pockets are taller improving the retention of said bottle. Also the hip belt pockets are probably 25% larger as well. Now I'll detail the changes I think are cons. The hipbelt is barely able to accommodate my 28in waist whereas the the small size atmos was perfect with some spare. The top lid(brain) is removable but no longer has the quick clips and lacks the extra flap for use without the top lid. I normally use the top lid so this isn't an issue but I had to add my own quick clip system for more effortless removal more reminiscent of the previous design. Overall this pack is definitely an improvement on the latter designs. I've carried an atmos pack for 7 years traveling the country. After trying other \"ultralight\" packs I've always returned to the ole trusty dusty atmos. Not so dusty atm but only a matter of time.
