I purchased this to use in a whitewater packraft. I needed something Solid and small To do overnights and this fit the bill perfectly. It ticks down in the cockpit of the raft or inside of the tube If you have a zip option. I’ll use it for other inflatables I have As well. This is my second K-pump as I have a high volume for by SUP that needs to go up to 18lbs. K pumps are great and not a “pool toy” Pump
Used it only once so far, to completely fill a couple of air chambers on two maverick IK1's, and to top off all the chambers on both boats. It worked well, was quicker than I expected given its small size, but was also louder than I expected, making a kind of growling sound.
Don't be fooled by the "mini" in it's name, this thing is amazing! We used it to pump up our IKs from being folded up, and it works as good or better than the 4" floor pump! There is little to no resistance, it glides like a champ and makes for the easiest top-off ever. Stores super easy; and the case has a handle that made for easy carabiner-clipping in the raft.
I used this to top off my Airtight Inflatables Shredder after filling it with my Blast Pump. It was also an absolute necessity to top off again on the river when the cold water caused the Shredder to soften a bit.
As expected, this is a pretty low volume pump so it takes a while to use. However, I bought it because it is small and lightweight, therefore ideal when space and/or weight are a limitation, such as shipping it to where I will be boating, putting it on a bush plane, etc. It is also fine for a top-off pump if you have an electric or high volume pump to use initially. I knew it's limitations when I bought it, and it works great for my applications.
Bought this last year for use on small inflatable boats with boston valves, similar to IKs. This is the only pump we take for up to 3 boats. We keep it in a strong sealable bag inside the bag it comes in because it spends a lot of time under water. Each boat is filled with about 350 strokes. Every pump to the very last top off is almost not even felt. Easy, easy, easy to pump, about 2 minutes per boat, pumping very quickly. Not at all tired when done. Considering a larger IK now and expecting/hoping to use this pump alone.
I had read so much about high volume pumps, top-off pumps, and two-stage pumps that I wasn't sure this little guy would be the only pump I would need. Well, it is. Compact size with a lot of volume to fill a 350#-rated float tube surprisingly quickly and firmly. I'm very happy with this purchase.
The pump easily inflated a 9.5' Bandit IK from totally deflated to full in less than 15 minutes. I recommend buying the C7 Leafield Valve Adapter (#14821, less than $5) so you can thread the pump into the valve and not have to continually press the pump into the valve. The pump comes with a fitting that is the right size for the adapter. In the attached photo, you can see how a couple of zip ties and a stainless hose clamp can be used to insure the adapter doesn't get separated from the pump while you are on the river.
I bought this pump as I wanted a sturdy K pump for my 12' cataraft, but wanted the ability to backpack it when I take a float tube to high mountain lakes. The trade offs are not too bad. This little guy puts out enough air to easily top off my raft and it is not too bulky to slip into my backpack for a hike with a float tube. It is not super lightweight, but appears to be K pump bulletproof. I am happy with my purchase and it fills the bill. If you want a top off pump that is portable this is it.
So we use this pump as our primary pump for a 2 person IK that we travel with between Central America and the States. For this use it is great-a bit of a work out-but that is the trade off for size-about 20 minutes for our IK.
I use this as my top-off pump for an inflatable kayak. Since it's small, it's easy to stow and comes with its own storage bag (for clipping into the boat). Perfect choice for IKs or similarly sized boats.
I use this pump for hike in tubing trips in the backcountry. It's relatively small, compact, bullet proof and effective. Perhaps a little slow, but was expected given its size. No complaints and would recommend it and buy it again.
The floor in one of my Kickboats is prone to over inflating itself and developing leaks. So if I'm on a multi day trip I partially deflate the floor when I get off the water, then pump it back up when it's time to hit the water again. The mini 100 fits easily into one of the boat pockets and is easy to use. It would take a long time to inflate a larger chamber with this pump. Best for small jobs or topping off.
