However, it is too large for small Whitetails and Pronghorn Antelope. I would like to see a smaller version for these smaller animals, especially the Pronghorn. These animals are often killed in warm weather when rapid cooling is essential. When I first started hunting we would use a notched 12\" 2x4 to help open up and cool down the body cavity. When the \"Steel Stick\" first came out I bought one immediately. I'm lucky enough to have private deer property to hunt in both states. I average 3-4 deer a year, and the Steel Stick has been used on every deer I shoot. I think the most helpful part is when used you're able to easily reach in high and cut the windpipe. Making the \"gutting\" so much easier.
