I have had my Wireless Pet Containment system for almost 14 years now. I have 3 dogs that use it, and I rarely have any issues. The one time I had my pit bull run through it, was because there was a rabbit running across the street. He broke through, and was back rather quickly. So it does work, and work fabulously! I have also taken this system camping with us, when we have electric sites. I change the area around it and they are fine! We did also pair one of the stubborn collars with this system for our husky. But this system is so easy to set up, and I have not had to touch it since then (except when we camp. You won't go wrong buying it.

Unit works great but eats batteries. Need to redesign

This is a great system! We have used it for 6 years and bought a new one for a different house. Works great and not nearly as costly as an underground system.

Ive used petsafe wireless system for over 2 years now, and love it. We have one dog who loves to wonder, and a 2 year old, now 4, who knew no boundaries when we got him. A complete lifesaver for both. And when the batteries get low, they are still nervous to go beyond the boundary, love it and have recommended this product to many. Thank you!

We've had this for almost 3 years now. We have a beagador who is 45 pounds and this product works great. I've never had to worry about him being outside alone. People walk by and of course he barks but he never goes near his end zone, even when the neighborhood cats lay right over the boundary line (they all know his limits by now). We live on the corner of a semi-busy neighborhood too and I feel safe with this.. qs long as he has his collar on he dont knos its off if we lose power. Fully recommend this to EVERYONE! We even bought a random cute collar and transfered the piece to the new collar and still works great!! I was able to get this whole thing done by myself. Super easy!

This is perfect for our strong willed Lab. He was trained quickly. I wish there were a way to change the shape from circle to oval. I would like to let our dog have full use of our yard, but that would allow him in the neighbors because of the circular shape.

I bought the wireless collar back in March. My collar stopped working. I called support and they are sending me out a new collar. Just good old fashion simple great customer service.

We have had this system for over 3 years and has only failed us when we failed to replace batteries or charge collars (we added an additional collar that was not battery operated). We use this system at our lake, and on multiple occasions one of my dogs has decided she wants to chase the beaver by our land and jumps in the lake and the collar is still working. Excellent product, gives us peace of mine and we trust it 100%

Dogs haven’t ran off. Neighbors are happy -we are happy!

I like how this works but my dog is 14 pounds and the collar seems heavy for him. It’s so bulky around his neck. I wish it came in different sizes.

The range of this system constantly moves. I've had times when my pet is well within the "flagged zone" and gets a shock. The yelping of my Goldendoodle breaks my heart. I think we need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Fence did not work properly - wiped out all the HF frequencies due to interference caused by the power supply. Company unresponsive to requests for help. I've called twice and emailed four times. Going to return.

This has been great!! Our boxer is almost a year old and we decided to do this instead of an actual fence or the in-ground fence. She learned her boundaries very quickly. The set up was easy and fast. She can now freely move around our entire yard without a leash. No more tangled leashes!

I bought this not to long ago and just trying it out the collar will not beep when we go out of the boundary we’re aren’t sure of what’s wrong but measure out the feet perfectly somethimes it beeps very close to the transmitter and sometimes it beeps 150 feet out of the boundary. If it is the boundary we are unsure of how to get a new one.
Not really worth my time.

Keeps my GSD in check, i have to replace the battery every 3 months. Had it for 2 years. Works great. At first had some issues but then i took it back a little and didn't let my dog go so close to the street and then she quit getting put. she hears the beep and she runs back to the house. Some times it lets her go a little further than its suppose to but then it kicks in.

I bought this 2 months ago and it has worked wonders! The dogs always stay in the yard! Also one of the collars clear piece had broken. I called them and they sent me a new one for free! The product has been great and the customer service has been even better. Very much recommend!

Working great. Only thing is that the boundary is not always the same in a tight area.
Hard to get it set at the right setting. Nice to not have to use any wire and can change
area any time.
Time will tell how long it will last. Hopefully as long as we need it.

Worked for a while. there is a dead spot for some reason. dog has found it. doesn't seem to be transmitting very well in the one area. not sure why all of a sudden it does this. disappointed for what it costs. tried a new collar and reset system still doesnt work

Worth the extra cost over a ground wire system because it is simple "plug & go". My GS kept getting out, then realized she would sit right on the edge with the audible warning activate until the battery died - then run free. Lesson learned. Only complaint - yards are typically not square - cannot locate hub in out building, garage, or shed. A weatherproof option would be ideal for deeper / rectangular properties.

We’ve had those for a few years now and it ha slept our Siberian Husky out of lots of trouble with the neighbors! She listens so much better and stays around the house. We just recently got another husky and we’re thinking about purchasing another collar but I wasn’t sure if you could have multiple dogs with this system?

We have had this system for 6 years and it is amazing. We even brought it with us to our new home when we moved and it works wonderfully. Completely portable. Never had any problems at all. Just make sure you replace the batteries in the collars once they start to show a blinking light. Wonderful product, reasonable, very easy to set up and keeps our dogs in. Nice system that has a variable level of electric shook if dogs don't listen to the beeping tone at the boundary. Only takes a couple times for them to get mildly zapped for them to respect the boundary.

My only complaint is that the transmitter on the collar needs to be built stronger. I have a beagle that can destroy one of these a year. The battery just won’t stay in.

I bought this for my granddog Charlie for when he visits us. . He has been trained with three other invisible fences and when he saw the flags going up, he knew what was happening. He was trained the minute the flags went up. It took my son in law one hour to set it up and figure out where to put the flags. So easy!

I have to say I was really excited for the fence but this did not work at all our dog. He took off last night and have not seen him since....yes the collar was fully charged and was working before we put him out. All other instructions were also followed. So now were out $150 for collar because he ran off with it and a system that doesn't work. I don't want to have to worry about my other dogs escaping either. We also live in the country so I'm not even sure we will be able to find him.

Initially the system worked great. I purchased it 18 months ago and it has recently stopped working. I have replaced the collar battery and attempted to reset the system following manufactures instructions with no luck.

We got the first of our wireless systems about 5 years ago. We trained both dogs to it and so we then alternate the dogs free time. One penned while the other roamed the wireless boundary lines and chased the neighborhood dogs and cats to the boundary.
The next year we purchased another and formed a bigger yard space. We never had a problem with them breaking the barriers.
We moved the following year to a place that was fenceless. No problems at all!
We now have 3 dogs on this Pet Safe Wireless system and are absolutely love it.
Batteries are cheap lasting 3—>5 months depending on the weather. I pay attention to the dogs and I’ll change them if the “one” dog becomes persistent in testing the boundaries.
I buy all my products from the company. They are extremely polite and helpful with my needs. I can even order the plastic replacement friction buckles, which is the only complaint that I have.
Advice! Take the time to train your dog well, pay attention to them for clues to replace the battery and by all means, go get you one of these systems.

I bought this 4 months ago at a local store. I was skeptical but was assured that I could return it. I have a red nose pit and he thought he was free to do what he wanted. I don’t keep it on him and I have only had to put it on him twice. He doesn’t leave the yard at all. Those 2 times he had the collar on was enough.

We live in the country and have a Setter who can scale 6 foot fences and a 200lb Great Dane who is protective. After a lot of research this was the only product that fit our needs. And it works so well! We learned quickly not to leave the collars too loose, and that our Setter would notice if we let her battery go. To our surprise the signal works inside our 20x40 metal barn :. Our favorite feature is that the dogs can come and go from any door and still be safe inside their fence.

I am writing this to warn anyone with overhead power lines coming into their house, because apparently Petsafe does not feel the need to state that in their description before customers waste their time and money purchasing. If you have overhead power lines, rather than underground, the power lines WILL interfere with the boundary and cause dead spots anywhere near those lines. Our entire driveway and side yard/wood line is a complete dead space. I called to ask what was going on after we tried moving vehicles, our boat w/ trailer, etc (we purchased this system yesterday) and that's when the agent informed me our overhead lines will interfere with the transmitter. We live out in the country and have quite a few acres. We have a pole on our property on one edge of our driveway and lines coming in overhead from the street, to that pole, and then obviously to our house. Mind you, this is all fairly close to our house, so turning the dial in would not allow our dog to even leave the garage. This system works great everywhere else on our property, except for one of the most important places...our driveway to the street! They suggested in-ground fencing, but cannot guarantee that will work with 100% certainty, due to the overhead power lines. I was also told they will not reimburse us and to try and return to the store, so hopefully the store will allow me to return it! I was always hesitant about using anything other than a real fence to keep our dog in, and this proves exactly why. Back to the large kennel fenced area we have. I'm very disappointed because I wanted our dog to have his freedom, but we also have way too much acreage for a fenced in yard. Not to mention, the reason we live in the country is because we like property/scenery. We don't want to be fenced in and would like our dog to be outside with us, not stuck in a fenced off area. Our older dog knows to stay around, but our puppy unfortunately does not and we wanted something better/larger to contain him. It's too bad this product cannot work unless you have underground electrical lines to your home.

So we got a new puppy in November and we had used the petsafe wired fence 13 years ago on out first dog, but now that we moved on bigger land, could not see ourselves actually digging and acres worth of wire. We were very hesitant of using the wireless version bit thought it would be worth a try. Our puppy husky at first was following our eldest husky everywhere so we actually didn't need it. But a few months go by and Nanook started taking his own freedom for granted so we installed the fence.

I never expected it to be so easy to install, didn't take much time. Just to walk around the area with the collar and plant the flags. We also tested out the collar on ourselves to ensure we were not going to torture our furbaby. Well he has tried only twice to go out of the boundary and came back to the house right away. When he hears the beep he will not go any further and he has learnt what his territory limits are very quickly.

Now I only wish they had a remote we could use for additional training. This is the best invention ever.

I would never ever recommend buying this product if you care about the safety of your dogs.

I purchased the Wireless Pet Containment system in 2017 and I've been extremely unhappy and I am beyond tired of fighting with it. We have two dogs and two collars, so we've invested a fair amount of money and training time into the system. The system is deeply flawed and extremely flakey. We're diligent about monitoring the battery level to make sure the collars never die and we still have non-stop issues. First off, the boundary is incredibly inconsistent. It's extremely hard to train a pet when the boundary is shifting by many feet day to day. Secondly, it never seems like the collars work right. I can walk around my yard, up to the boundary, and the collar will beep one or twice and then stop... with no shock administered. I can walk at a slow leisurely pace through the boundary and it seems like 9 times out of 10, nothing happens. Maybe a beep or two for a total for 1 or 2 seconds and then it stops. If I'm moving quickly with the collar, typically nothing happens at all. If I walk slow enough and the phase of the moon is aligned perfectly with the waxing and waning of caribou populations, halt dead when it beeps, sometimes it works.

We've tried two base units (at least customer service is awesome), different locations for the base unit, gotten rid of all obstructions, and the system just won't work consistently. In all honesty, Petsafe should stop selling these.

We purchased our own after visiting family that had it for their dog. We used the extra collar they had and very quickly our black lab was aware of the boundary and able to roam free there. At home, we no longer need to keep him on a lead and again, he quickly learned where the boundary was after a couple days, he mastered how far he could go. It's adjustable, so you need to walk your property with the collar as it says in the directions to determine where you want the warning tone to start. The strength of tone and zap is adjustable to. Level three has been perfect for our 2 year old dog. It's portable so you can take it anywhere!! It does need to be plugged into a power source to work...generator, solar panel, power inverter, household outlet, etc. To see our dog run free and stay safe...priceless!

We have owned our system for over 8 years and it has worked great for the 2 dogs we had on it. However, when we added a 3rd collar the added collar went a little crazy beeping erratically even when right next to the system. I've repaired the collars using the steps several times. The new collar, the one that seems to be going crazy the most, has 8 settings vs the other 2s 5 settings. I'm not sure if that is a reason for its acting strangely? The 2nd collar is now beeping erratically though. I'm thinking it's time to replace the whole system and all 3 collars. I love the system and definitely want to say thank you for having it. It definitely keeps my dogs safe and from running. It's worked great for many years and I think we've just worn it out! Definitely getting another system!

My dog has learned fast with this. It was very easy to start using.

Our new PetSafe Invisible Fence has been SUCH a good investment even in the few short weeks we've had it. She trained insanely fast (smart girl), it's given us and her much more freedom and simplified many things. It took me a while to find the best location for the transmitter and I almost gave up. I'm glad I didn't though. It's been a game changer already!

The collar is a bit bulky for my 11 lbs dog, but the dog does not seem to mind. The product was easy to setup, and my dog learned in 3 days to obey the boundary. I am satisfied with this product so far.

We have been using this invisible fence system for two years. I highly recommend it if traditional fencing will not work for your situation. When we began training with the fence, our dog (a Vizsla) was shocked two times on the lowest shock setting. He has never attempted to cross the boundary again. If he hears the warning buzz, he heads straight back where he is supposed to be. At this point, he is so well trained we don’t really even need the collar on him if we are outside with him. He never tries to leave. We still use the collar though, just in case something really tempting appears on the other side of the boundary.

There are a few things to consider if you are thinking about buying this. One is that the lack of a physical boundary means there is nothing to stop other dogs from entering your yard. Also, it confuses people. This can be good or bad. Our mail carrier would not deliver our mail for a few weeks after we started using it. He thought there was a “loose” dog in our yard because he didn’t realize the dog had an invisible boundary and couldn’t actually reach the front of the house. However, mail carriers aside, this could be nice if you want people to think twice about entering your yard.

A small irritation is that our dog jumps when things buzz if they sound similar to the collar. My kid’s watch beeps when he sets it or uses the buttons. The dog thinks it is his collar and can’t figure out why he is in trouble when he’s being a good boy. But that is a minor problem and rarely happens.

Another, more problematic, consideration is that the batteries on the collar must be replaced rather frequently. It would be nice if took a standard size battery or was rechargeable or if you could turn it off when not in use. I see there is a rechargeable option now, but it seems ridiculous to pay more than half the cost of the whole system just for a new collar.

Which brings up the other main problem which is the cost of a replacement collar. Our collar is starting to wear out. Dogs will be dogs and mine loves to roll around whether the collar is in the way or not. The black box is getting quite scratched and beat up. The little clear cover over the settings button has broken off. I see that we can by a new little cover, but the threaded part on the box is broken, so I don’t think a new one will stay well. It would be nice if the mechanical part of the collar were either less expensive, or better protected in some way.

But all in all we have been very satisfied with the system. It has worked perfectly as promised and made it possible for us to have a dog in a yard that was rather impossible to fence in a normal way.

I have been using this product for almost a year and have had no issues! My dog was wandering to the neighbors constantly and after just one day of training he stays home. I will be purchasing a third collar to add a new pup soon! Highly recommend this! It is pricey but totally worth it.

Best purchase I’ve ever made!

I bought this for my weimaraner and it is not working well for her. I followed the directions and did the boundary training. The beep does nothing for her but the shock scared her half to death. As soon as she gets close to the boundary and it beeps, she immediately gets shocked. She doesn't even get a chance to move away before receiving a correction. Now she is terrified to go outside. I think with this system we are going backwards with her training.

I bought this system on the recommendation of my neighbor who has the same system. Our yards being next to each other presents a host of issues that would be solved if we could operate our systems on different frequencies. There is a "no-mans land" where our circle ranges meet. Also, their dogs get zapped within their house due to our system bleeding over. This system would be perfect for us if our neighbor could operate on one frequency and us another. Also, the batteries don't seem to last too long. I've already had to replace after 3 months.

I bought this 14 year ago & my dog one got shocked once. I haven’t tried it with my new puppy yet. I’m working on it now but I’m assuming it will be great!

I bought this for a very active, hyper dog and it work wonderful. Easy to set up easy to train dog.

I’m so happy with our pod system!! We have 2 pups that encourage each other to wander a bit...and my smaller pup wouldn’t come home. I was so worried we’d end up with the worst news possible, so we tried everything!! Then a friend got us to research this product...best decision I could have ever made for my pups safety.
Now my dogs on the other hand hate it...their wanderlust years are far behind them. The days of roaming the streets are over. Which makes me one happy mom.

Now the only down fall, is that once a month we have to unplug the pod itself to let it reset. Other wise the pups will get shocked within the perimeter. Other than that, it’s my favorite thing.

Used this on our beagle. He figured out how to run past the perimeter (on highest setting zap) also figured out the “dead zones” so to speak. There was a dog house in our yard that blocked the signal and wouldn’t beep or zap him. I understand we could gave got rid of the doghouse, but that’s not the point. For how much money these are, I’d expect them to be able to get passed a dog house and keep our dog in the borders.

I tested the range per instructions (once the collar light up the tester, turn back toward the house and walk until the collar is disabled). But the collar would not disable. It would continue to light up the test light until I had retreated over half way back to the house (30 ft at least). and the unit was hung on that outside wall - so it was very close before it disabled.

I can’t shock my dogs that much. I returned the product.

We have owned the Petsafe Wireless Containment System for two years. We purchased it on Amazon in August of 2016. As we trained our German Shepherd using the wireless containment system, we followed the directions precisely. At first, things worked well. Our dog knew her boundary. The system worked when it need to, and our dog knew to run back toward the house when she had gone too far.

But as time went on, the system became more and more inconsistent. All dogs need consistency, especially German Shepherds. At times, the system would start to shock her while she was safely inside her zone. At other times, the system wouldn't shock her when she went beyond her boundary. We tried trouble shooting by unplugging the transmitter and plugging it back in again. We changed batteries in her collar. We tried adjusting the circumference of her circle. Sometimes it would work, but inevitably, it would go back to its inconsistent ways.

Today was the last straw. I was outside with our German Shepherd when someone walked by with his dog. The other dog was safely outside of our dog's radius, but because the system has been so inconsistent recently, my dog ran to the other dog. Thankfully, I was able to call her back right away, but I could tell the other dog owner was a little frightened by the experience. And I don't blame him! My dog should have stayed in her yard. But the system failed to work. Then, as I was bringing my dog into the house, safely within the containment system, the collar started zapping her without warning. She completely freaked out, and she is now terrified to go into our kitchen and out the back door.

Needless to say, I'm done with this product. I cannot recommend it as it currently works to anyone who loves their pet. It is too inconsistent and can cause more damage than good. I wish it worked. I wish it did what it promised. I wish I got what I paid for. But instead I have a nervous dog who gets shocked inside the house, safely inside her radius, and doesn't get shocked when she goes outside of the safe zone.
