Quantum Optix Spinning Reel

I used an Optix 20 with 5'6" ultra light to catch small Snook in Florida(18-26 inchers. Worked like a champ. Drag is not as smooth as I'd like, but overall worked great.

I spend over 90 days a year on the water as a guide and more for my own fun. I picked this reel up on a steelheading trip to replace a different reel that had broken. I hoped to just get the trip out it due to the price.. i was wrong. Great little reel! And the service from the company is even better. I lost the handle and they looked after me!

I kinda bought the Optix 20 on the fly at Academy for like 20 bucks. I cannot adequately explain how good of a value this reel is. It is super smooth, the drag system works well, the handle knob is super comfortable, and the size is perfect for light tackle fishing. I spooked it up with 6 pound mono and I have used it to catch bluegill, bass, pinfish, juvenile sea bass in shallow water, 12 inch grunts, and more. One of my favorite things about this reel is that the flex in it is minimal. I’ve felt 100 dollar reels that flex more than this. Workhorse of a reel for a great, great price and I can’t recommend it enough. Will definitely be buying more.

I bought this reel kinda blindly, to be honest. I bought it in clam packaging so I didn't get to feel one before I bought it. However, it blew my expectations out of the water. (By the way, got the 20 size.)

This thing is an incredible value. It's super smooth, and the handle is incredibly comfortable. Nice and heavily rubberized. It's got a decent drag on it as well.

I used the reel for light tackle saltwater stuff with 6 Ib test in Tampa. Caught tons of pinfish, grunts, etc. off the Skyway Pier. Also have been using it for light tackle bass fishing and it rocks.

For a lower price reel, it packs a lot of bang for the buck.

I'm unhappy that it doesn't have anti reverse

I only use quatnum reels. I wish they made a bait runner reel cause I would use them for flathead fishing

I have 10 of these for Crappie fishing. Great reels, very smooth. Couldn't ask for a better product.

I love this little reel it has has Stren 12# test magnathin and is used for catching small hardhead catfish near High Island Tx. It cleans off well and
3 years old and no problems.

A solid value in a go-to reel. Reliable, light, and many features from higher priced reels.

I purchased two of the quantum optix reel a year ago.in my opinion the best value for your money. I go fishing 2 to 3 time a week. That have been smooth strong and reliable for me. I use this optix 40 for bass catfish and panfish.a good all a round reel.

Purchased two Quantum Optix 80 reels for some heavy duty carp and catfish spinning outfits. Was looking for great line capacity and heavy duty, but smooth drag, without spending too much. Did not want to spend too much in case an enthusiastic fish should pull one of the outfits into the river. For the price, these reels have definitely not let me down and have exceeded my expectations. They perform as well or better than reels costing twice the price. They have been strong, smooth and reliable. Casting distance with the heavier lines has been exceptional and they retrieve a decent length of line with every turn of the handle. These are good looking reels that perform better than their inexpensive price point would warrant and in my opinion, that makes them a great value.

I fish for saltwater catfish hard heads off a pattio deck at Crystal Beach Tx . Several of my friends use the same setup. A 6ft medium action rod 12lb test a 6 or 9 inch wire leader just in case we hook a small sand shark. Darn good reel for the price.

Bought this on sale for under $20, it has been reliable and is an exceptional value. Great for beginners and avid fishermen alike.

Bought one to try it caught a blue cat over 35lbs with ease. Holds 65lb braided power pro line great. Meets my standards of a cheap but reliable reel.

mounted this awesome reel size 20 on a Berkley AMPS rod 7ft med act and love it fast retrieve and cast a coutry mile my #1 go to set up for most all fishing from bank to boat ;
