There is a place where function and form collide. Where practical becomes practically gallery-worthy. It's the same Fabio Pendrini designed car rack with the same 4.5 out of 5 star rating from Bicycle Magazine. Now it's just a little more you.
Arc-based design fits over most spoilers and separates bikes on different levels.
Rust-free injection-molded arms and legs are the strongest on the market
Rubberized feet protect vehicle and coated straps protect bike.
Easy to use and install very steady but so far only used it with one bike so time will tell. One drawback, the rack has 2 lower clips but 3 side clips and only 1 upper clip don't think it will be an issue but if you could please send another upper clip I shall have a go at changing a side one for the upper clip. Thank you
This a great product that is easy to use and install. It folds away small so can be taken off the car when cycling and put in the boot. I do like the rubberised feet. It is difficult to control the straps when fitting the rack. They dangle and knock the paintwork on the car. The only way to prevent this would be to roil them up into a rubber band which would mean unraveling each one at a time, then folding up each one at a time every time it's used. That isn't too much of a problem but maybe adding a thin layer of rubberised material to the clips would prevent possible paint scratches and chips.
I bought a Bones rack maybe 8? 10? years ago and just sold it to someone for my fiance's 2 bike Bones rack. I loved that rack and it was like new all those years later! Thanks for the great USA made prodcut!
The flexible design allows me to place the top feet on the spoiler of my VW Golf rather then the glass window. This prevents an accidental turn on of the back window wiper arm from being damaged because the top attachment points are off the glass and pressing on the spoiler.
I bought a 3-bike saris bones to transport my electric bike. The bike sits on the back and appears to be stable. The metal clip for the straps put a scratch on my car because after strapping it down it was sitting on one of the rear lights.
Use the product to transport bikes for bike ride days. Easy to setup, folds away neatly, absolutely fantastic. Very secure riding on freeways. Like that it holds both bikes weight of total 80 lbs ( its why a got the three bike rack). Rack fits over my Taurus spoiler which I was looking for in a bike rack. Easy to hang from garage ceiling for easy storage.
i went to my bike shop .. told them what i needed and they gave me a few suggestions... we tried one but my new bike did not fit as it is the pure with the "feet forward" technology ... making it a bit longer than the other bikes... but when we tried the locking bones.. it was perfect... easy to carry.. easy to put on and easy to load the bikes on.. i luv it
Upgraded from a less solid truck rack and glad I did. Very well built, solid construction, easy to use and only takes minutes to install and remove as I needed. Higher recommend and my brother ended up buying one as well.
the system for folding/unfolding the mounting and bike-holder arms is genius! no flopping steel arms while you struggle to lock and mount the rack! Also like that I can insert the tabs into the edge of hatch without opening hatch (though I saw some people struggling to do the same on their volvo wagon due to its weatherstrip). The arched arms and light weight make it easy to maneuver, and it's great to be able to fold down the bike-holder arm and make the whole thing compact against the car in seconds. Love it!
Perfect rack for my Subaru Outback. Once I set up arms and legs in proper position, attaching it to my car takes 5 minutes or less. I can take it off and store it in my garage within minutes. Can fit 3 road bikes easily. I used it with Mountain bikes - taking front wheels off, made the loading simple.
Considered the alternatives carefully and was attracted to this Saris Bones bike rack. Impressed when assembled and fitted and worked well first time out. Hopeful that this will continue to work well and enable me to cycle new routes further afield.
Have only used it a few times but it seems really stable and solid. Took a while to figure out what goes where, and the instructions are only semi-helpful but now that we have got used to mounting it, it is pretty easy.
