Accurate, reliable, practical
I am not the greatest shot. I have fired dozens of different pistols over the years, and my accuracy with them has varied from one gun to the next. That all changed when I tried my brand new M17 without a manual safety for the first time. Below is a detailed review from a layman:

The good: Right out the box, this gun has performed phenomenally. My accuracy has skyrocketed to where I place a dozen shots in the area of a cigarette box from 20 yards out. Many people customize the trigger, but I like it as it is; the pull and weight are always the same, very smooth and precise. The sights are just as easy to find at night as during the day and stand out nicely. The M17 is barely larger than my CZ P-10 C, which is the same size as a G19, yet doesn't feel any heavier. In terms of ammo it can handle, no hiccups after trying several different kinds of ammo. It's a truly handsome gun! I am considering adding a Romeo1Pro sight and a gas piston at some point in the future.

The not so good: The slide gets teeny-tiny scratches from holstering and unholstering, and it also gets matted from sprays during cleaning. This is nothing proper maintenance can't take care of, though, so not a real concern for me. Somebody showed pictures online that the slide's finishing is self-healing, and I can attest to that.

The bad: Absolutely nothing is bad besides making me want to go to the range every week so I can enjoy the pistol!

The bottom line: this pistol is perfect (for me) for home defense, keep in the car, carry IWB with minimum printing, and range days up to 25 yards (my limit as a mostly self-taught amateur). I trust it with my life.

I have over 15 Sig Pistols and this is one of my favorites. Every aspect of this fire arm screams reliability, accuracy, comfort, and capacity!!! This is easily one of the best Sigs I own

Got my M-17 a few months back. I was able to get one withOUT the manual safety. I wasn't seeking that but though it would make it easier to buy an X Grip Module. I did end up putting a std. flat trigger in mine. And then I shot it with the std. grip module. Turns out a really like it as-is (but with the flat trigger). Strangest thing is they ship it with this rubber band M-17 logoed dealio and I like that on the gun too... never figured that.

It is very easy to see why the Military chose this firearm. It's a very soft shooter. It's fairly light for the overall size. And it is VERY accurate. I'm not an amazing pistol shot. I can, however, shoot this one with strong marks. I really enjoy it.

Great duty sidearm
Got this the other week as my terminal has changed requirements for how long the barrel Lane has to be for your duty sidearm. Happen to find one at a local gun shop with pleasantly surprised when I took it to the range and the first two full mags shooting five round groups was a little larger than a half dollar at 7m. The trigger is meh, but what do you expect from the military, I will see if I can swap out an x model fcu for it. It will go boom everytime. I ran close to 1000 rounds through it over the last week and it ate everything I fed it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a duty sidearm or something for HD. As with all my sigs, I can't say how much I love them. Keep up the good work!

Nice Firearm, Enjoying that it's on the P320 platform
Most of my sidearms are 3-4" barrel lengths in 380ACP and 40S&W. I wanted to pickup a full size in 9mm and chose the M17. The beauty of the platform is the modularity. I have also picked up a Grip Module, Carry slide, recoil spring, and barrel to convert to a 3.9" size for when I want to conceal carry with the M17/18 capacity. As for firing, the trigger feel of the fire control unit is crisp and has clear engagement with minimal travel. While this is a new feel for me, it's welcome and has been an enjoyable shooter on the range.

On a side note, there was a slight issue with the shorter recoil spring assembly when I assembled my "carry" platform. Customer service was quick to respond and they had my firearm shipped to them and returned to me in less then two weeks with a function check, new recoil spring assembly and felt great!

I’ve had my M17 for a bit, but keep returning to my Sigs over Glock. I love the way they shoot and feel, and the M17 is no exception. It’s a tack driver out of the box, and I feel extremely comfortable with it.

If you are looking for a solid platform and shooter, the P320 M17 won’t let you down.

Spot on weapon
I recently bought the P320 M17. I was extremely impressed with how well it fired out of the box. I've owned other weapons and have to say it's by far my favorite.

I have also bought the smaller grip module, the Pro Cut Slide and the Skeletonized Trigger. I highly recommend you get the trigger. It literally took me 15 minutes to change it out. I love this modular system Sig has done with the P320. Bravo Sig, Bravo.
