Having quicker access to wind direction on the handheld unit itself, would increase its stand alone usefulness. However, this small hiccup can easily be overcome if paired with a phone, as making wind adjustments via the BDX app is extremely fast. \nThe units ability to drop remote pins on the BaseMap app is both a novelty and very useful. The first one, purchased directly from Sig Sauer, killed the battery in two days just sitting on a shelf. I tried three new batteries with the same result. Sig sent me a new one after I returned that one. Now, this new $1500 item won't keep a compass calibration even for a minute. As soon as I calibrate the compass, range once, then look, calibration is back to 25% and the heading is about 90 or more degrees off. I worked with tech support and will send this one back for round three. For $1500, I expected it to work. My Vortex Razor 4000 HD works.
