I was shopping for months for a new fun AR10 or Semi Auto 308, or 6.5. Everything worth buying is over $2800. The reason I bought this gun. This is my third AR10, 2nd in 308. Looking into my safe I realized. Wow good guns, but they all look alike and never get shot. My AR15 reigns supreme for overall use. I hunt a lot of coyote and other varmint critters. 223 or 5.56 leaves the fur still usable. Plus throwing A LOT 5.56 down range is just so easy due to recoil and cost per bullet. I have never had an AR10 come close to sub $700 bolt guns at or after 400yrds. So 800 yard shots and MOA's are not my concern with semi-auto's. So my new DMR-ish gun just needed look awesome and make me smile. Enter the MCX!!! I honestly was going Scar 17 due to loving it since a kid. But also had always wanted an HK awhile back. At the gun shop those two guns were all right around the same price as this, everything within $300. So all these haters talking about how $$ this gun is, really confuse me. I'm assuming they are all fan boys who don't own this gun and just want to hate. Every good AR10 or semi auto 308 is around 3k-4k. Unless used in WW2! Too old, don't care. All the \"I can build one cheaper!\" That applies to all the high end AR10's, and your build will look like a cool or basic AR15! And a certain Carolina gun maker has one for under your build cost and theirs probably shoots better. So you can go kick cans too! \nThis area is for people who wanted to buy the rifle and tell others how they feel about it. Go back to your forums, and stroke your egos about your awesome builds there! I don't care about your Di guns. As an actual owner of this gun. It checks every box. Reliable, passed the military exam!, Great to look at, and unique, and has a full rail (sorry Scar)! Fun to shoot! Come on, side charging handle! LOVE IT! Easy to work on and clean! I love opening up that safe and seeing the color. The last thing I needed was another black gun AR15 look alike. This purchase was to get a great gun that I would want to take out every time I go shooting or camping. I had an AR10 that was the best bang for the buck, and one that was good at 800 yrds. In the short time i have owned the MCX. I have shot it more then both.... Probably combined! And still love just looking it on the bench or in the field. Yeah the stock had to go, too small. And the muzzle device was... well really on there. But a 10 minute call to sig customer service they told me what to do, and boom! My muzzle device and can was on that day. Looking into new trigger. cant complain about stock trigger but I like flat faces on mine. I for one am excited to see what comes out for this gun in the future. The platform is a great base and unlike a lot of the others that have been out for awhile. its fun to contribute to pushing the gun and making it mine. knowing not a lot of people have nerded out on the platform for decades.","textLength":2962,"csFlag":false,"inappropriateFlag":false,"reviewedFlag":false,"autoModerated":false,"published":true,"incentivized":false,"upVotes":42,"downVotes":10,"orderId":null,"dimensions":[],"responses":[],"tags":[],"media":{"photo":[],"video":[],"audio":[]},"user":{"badge":null},"reviewedDate":null,"purchaseDate":null,"dateCreated":"2024-04-20T00:00:00-04:00","customData":[],"incentiveType":null,"campaign":null,"deviceFingerprint":null,"topics":[],"syndication":{"sourceName":"SIG SAUER","siteUrl":"https://www.sigsauer.com/","logoUrl":"https://images.turnto.com/site/syndicationlogos/2482_LH48.png"},"catalogItems":[{"sku":"1701-RSPEAR76216B","title":"SIG SAUER MCX 7.62x51mm NATO Spear","url":"https://www.scheels.com/p/1701-RSPEAR76216B","category":"semi-automatic-rifles","reviewCount":33,"ratingCount":33,"averageRating":4.7,"ratingBreakdown":{"1":0,"2":0,"3":5,"4":1,"5":27},"active":true,"attributes":[]}]},{"id":4587437,"locale":"en_US","rating":5,"title":"Haters gunna hate! ALL GOOD AR10's = 4K","text":"Not sure why everyone beating up this gun up in price? I don't think half these reviews saying it too pricey even own this gun! Just bought it for barley over a Scar 17 and HK at $4115.00. HK was $3999.00, Scar 17 was $3879.00. Both have down sides as well. FN wont let you touch that gun without voiding your warranty. HK are great but, your buying a 4K Ar-10 with no bells or whistles, just a wannabe M101A fans. I was really close to buying both, really close! I wanted an AR10. I shopped around. Knew my price point and bough the gun that puts the biggest smile on my face. This came down to the MXC has fun new features and biggest potential moving forward, and LOOKS GREAT. I get tried and true, but looks matter! Scar aside, every other gun in this price range. Looks like a larger AR15. which is already in my gun safe. So why would I buy a more expensive look alike? I didn't buy it to show off. But there is a reason sports cars don't reassemble your moms tried and true daily driver! At the range, the SIG sticks out, just like a Scar or bullpup. AR's have a place and will never die, but also your HK, POF, JP, DD, look like a PSA and barley shoot better. I not saying they are the same in quality! But at this price, why would I pay 4k for gun that looks like, and shoots like sub $1000. Plus once these extra barrels, rails, and other bits start hitting the market. I can now bounce through different calibers with an easy barrel swap. It was another major difference for me over the Scar. The barrel is half the time remove and so easy. Plus the full length guard was nice. Go buy a HK, LMR, JP. They are great guns but look like and preform like a PSA or other cheaper AR's. So if I'm going spend 4k on some old platform, it cant looks like everything else, and only shoot .5 moa better than PSA or Rugar for 1/4 the price! And I don't care you can build an AR10 for half the price! Your home build rifle could never put the smile on my face the Spear MCX does, when pulling it out the safe and going shooting. That is why a lot of us buy rifles!","textLength":2062,"csFlag":false,"inappropriateFlag":false,"reviewedFlag":false,"autoModerated":false,"published":true,"incentivized":false,"upVotes":2,"downVotes":1,"orderId":null,"dimensions":[],"responses":[],"tags":[],"media":{"photo":[],"video":[],"audio":[]},"user":{"badge":null},"reviewedDate":null,"purchaseDate":null,"dateCreated":"2024-04-19T00:00:00-04:00","customData":[],"incentiveType":null,"campaign":null,"deviceFingerprint":null,"topics":[],"syndication":{"sourceName":"SIG SAUER","siteUrl":"https://www.sigsauer.com/","logoUrl":"https://images.turnto.com/site/syndicationlogos/2482_LH48.png"},"catalogItems":[{"sku":"1701-RSPEAR76216B","title":"SIG SAUER MCX 7.62x51mm NATO Spear","url":"https://www.scheels.com/p/1701-RSPEAR76216B","category":"semi-automatic-rifles","reviewCount":33,"ratingCount":33,"averageRating":4.7,"ratingBreakdown":{"1":0,"2":0,"3":5,"4":1,"5":27},"active":true,"attributes":[]}]},{"id":4582052,"locale":"en_US","rating":4,"title":"Fix the Muzzle break and bigger Stock 10/10.","text":"Great Rifle love it! And this is not buyers remorse this is an honest owners option so far. Indont mind the price tag. If you can't buy twice you shouldn't buy it once. And I think a lot of people are salty about the price and being out priced. I feel like I got what I paid for. I jumped in a lot early then I wanted because my home state is banning these rifles and hoping down the road I can bounce between 6.5, 6.8, and 762. Most people are judging this rifle to other single caliber rifles! Buy an HK, LMR, SCAR, and switch barrels if you can. Or by the time you have two or three rifles all decked out. You will have spent more than us Spear owners. They are not $7000.00. I bought the spear because it was $300. More then an scar and the same as the HK. HK and LMT are so hard to track down right now. But mybtwo major complaints. There is no reason. This muzzle device needs to be this hard for the civilian market! I get it being on there so tight for the miltiary and knowing it won't come off. But I should not have to send my brand new barrel in to SIG to remove it!!! And this tiny stock is....... just sad. Easy to fix and not that big of a deal, but I do think it ruins the look. It's like a body builder that never works out his legs! Over all I love this gun, and hopefully SIG fixes the muzzle removal later. I'm sure they will, they have done a great job listening to our thoughts over the years. And time and time again I come back to their products.","textLength":1470,"csFlag":false,"inappropriateFlag":false,"reviewedFlag":false,"autoModerated":false,"published":true,"incentivized":false,"upVotes":1,"downVotes":0,"orderId":null,"dimensions":[],"responses":[],"tags":[],"media":{"photo":[],"video":[],"audio":[]},"user":{"badge":null},"reviewedDate":null,"purchaseDate":null,"dateCreated":"2024-04-02T00:00:00-04:00","customData":[],"incentiveType":null,"campaign":null,"deviceFingerprint":null,"topics":[],"syndication":{"sourceName":"SIG SAUER","siteUrl":"https://www.sigsauer.com/","logoUrl":"https://images.turnto.com/site/syndicationlogos/2482_LH48.png"},"catalogItems":[{"sku":"1701-RSPEAR76216B","title":"SIG SAUER MCX 7.62x51mm NATO Spear","url":"https://www.scheels.com/p/1701-RSPEAR76216B","category":"semi-automatic-rifles","reviewCount":33,"ratingCount":33,"averageRating":4.7,"ratingBreakdown":{"1":0,"2":0,"3":5,"4":1,"5":27},"active":true,"attributes":[]}]}]},"tracing":{"frontasticRequestId":"e36a12b53741a82061c7a3c892215c51"}}"Full Description:\nIntroducing the MCX-SPEAR, the civilian version of the U.S. Army’s new XM7 rifle.
