A love-affair in the works...
Some thoughts about my Sig Sauer P365XL…

The Sig P365 is a fine pistol. The 365XL is even better. Over the past six months it has become my hands-down EDC.

The pistol takes 12- and 15-round magazines. A loader is handy for the magazines as the springs are very stiff. With the 12-rounder in place the 365XL is easily concealable, even with an OTB holster, which is my personal preference.

SO far the pistol has had no failures to feed or fire of any kind. It has eaten everything I have fed it, even 130-grain lead RNFPs. Never a bobble and that bodes well as the round count grows.

The frame is polymer but very nicely finished. The stippling is also well done. Not at all painful but quite aggressive and makes for nice security in the hand. Looks good, too. The black coated stainless slide is also nicely finished, with operating serrations fore and aft. It press-checks like a dream.

The original night-sights that came on the pistol were excellent and very fast to acquire. I have subsequently mounted a Romeo Zero 3-minute red-dot sight. The optics up the pistol’s hittability considerably. Hits to the center area of a 10” steel gong at 25-yards are monotonically consistent. I haven’t benched the pistol but if it shoots around 2” at 25-yards I will not be surprised. Quick acquisition of the red-dot takes some practice, but once achieved settles into muscle memory quickly.

To say a pistol is your EDC means that you carry it, always. The P365XL weighs 25.8 ounces with the loaded 12-round magazine, plus one in the chamber. With the 15-rounder (15+1) it is 28.7 ounces. YMMV may vary but that is about the upper limit for an EDC for me. This is a full pound lighter than a fully loaded steel-frame 1911. I find that I can almost forget I ‘m wearing it with the 12-round magazine.

In the hand the pistol feels comfy and secure with the 12-rounder. Using the 15-round mag it feels like a “big boy” and performs almost like one. This is a pistol that will not tire or abuse you in a long range session. Recoil with all ammo I have used so far has been mild.

The straight trigger will take a bit of familiarization. Once used to it I doubt anyone would want to go back to the curved trigger. Double taps are easily done once used to it. The release is clean and crisp.

My pistol has the manual safety. I would not want a pistol without a manual safety, but that’s just me. Too many 1911s in my history maybe. The safety is positive and crisp and has never been nudged off while in the holster, as has sometimes happened with 1911s. Of course, there is no back-up grip safety on the 365s, nor is one needed.

I’ve had many EDCs over the years, revolvers and semi-automatics. I am completely pleased— enamored really— with the P365XL. I’m sure this is going to be a long-term relationship.

Great Handling,
The fact of this weapon came with an optic already was a big a reason I purchased this weapon. Because of all the panic buying people have been doing, it was great to get this one pretty fast. I initially needed a concealed carry but found it to be also a pretty good range toy.

Zeroing the Romeo Zero optic was pretty nice and easy. I hope to get a can soon & hit some steel. ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

Best EDC (ignore the pansies)
I've had the XL over a year now and not once has it have me a problem. People complaining about the 12rnd mag being an 11rd just needs to be a man and press it down. Sights shooting low and left? Get your aim right before blaming it on the sights, you just can't shoot worth crap. I run it with the 15round mag and the Romeozero and couldn't be happier. Also, the ProMag mags "for the P365" work with the P365XL as I have the 20 round, 32round, and 50 round drum for my P365XL from ProMag and it works flawlessly even though they state it is for the P365.

OPTIC ISSUES
Purchased this firearm about 6 months ago. The battery in the optic goes dead about every 45 days making the fire arm a liability for everyday carry. Not sure what do to

Buyer Beware
Do not buy this firearm with the Romeozero factory installed. At the expense of horrible customer service, Sig does not also provide the rear sight. When the Romeozero is removed, the pistol is rendered useless Customers are better served purchasing the two items separately and installing the romeozero for the exact same cost. For an additional expense, the company will sell a rear sight.

A great purchase turned into an expensive regret because of poor customer service. Sig Sauer failed.

Regarding the pistol, it is great and I highly recommend it, as long as the two parts are purchase separately.

So much in such a small package!
The P365XL was my first SIG firearm purchase, which was quickly followed up with the purchase of a SIG P320 RXP full size. THE 365XL provides the punching power of 9mm within a highly concealable package and a 12 round magazine. The RomeoZero (added after purchase) works wonderfully and brings me quickly on target - it’s pretty clear why red dots are making such an impact on the marketplace. The matte finish looks and feels great and the grip feels perfectly sized with enough real estate to keep all fingers engaged. The flat trigger is nice and crisp. This has quickly become my favorite concealed carry.

P365XL
I own a P250, a P320 Compact and now a P365 XL. I purchased a Zero optic and it was a simple install. Was almost zeroed in without adjustment. Only took me 6 rounds to zero it for 25 yards. It is now my EDC. Sig Sauer products are fantastic. Love my P365.

My favorite Pistol
This P 365 XL is about the 15th pistol I have bought in my life. (My second was a Sig P228and I own at least one other Sig.) I must say it is by far my favorite pistol to shoot. It fits so well into the hand it is just plain comfortable. The capacity on this pistol is amazing right out of the box at 12+1 or get the extended mags for 15+1. I fell in love with this gun the first time I saw it, then after talking to one of the guys at my local shop though I should give this one a try. I am so glad I did. Shoots like a dream. First time on the range got great groups and it has only gotten better since.
