The Kelvin Aerolite 30 Sleeping Bag is a multifunctional layer for active time in camp, cold glassing sessions or dreaded midnight nature calls. Synthetic PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation with Cross Core™ technology replicates the aesthetics and performance of down insulation, but with warm-when-wet performance. Featuring a 30-degree warmth rating, it's designed to be an extension of your SITKA clothing systems for full-season performance, even in the wettest conditions. Jacket-like features include zippered, functional armholes; contoured shoulders and hood, and a center-front two-way zipper.

Features/Benefits
• Synthetic PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation with Cross Core™ technology replicates the warmth and compressibility of down, but with the benefit of warm-when-wet performance
• Lightweight insulation (35% recycled) is infused with silica aerogel, a nearly weightless material that's composed of more than 95% air and acts as additional thermal insulation
• 20-denier polyester face and backer
• Durable water repellent finish resists precipitation and prevents face fabric from wetting out
• ISO 23537, 30-degree comfort rating; designed to be worn with other layers in your SITKA clothing system for colder conditions
• Contoured shoulders and hood for a shaped and functional jacket-like fit when active
• Center-front two-way zipper
• Armholes positioned for functional mobility; baffled draft tubes seal in heat
• Stowed hook at bottom of bag connects to midlength interior loop; shortens the bag for walking
• Shaped footbox provides even warmth around your feet

I tested this sleeping bag out this weekend. I slept outside under the stars and never once felt cold as the temperature dropped to a breezy 40°F. In fact, I was a little too warm at first. The zipper down the middle and the zippers for arms is an absolutely genius design. I was able to reach for my water or headlamp without having to open up the sleeping bag and let out all the heat. Whenever I needed to get up in the middle of the night to answer nature's call, I simply opened up the bottom, hooked the bottom up, and walked out to do my business. The next morning I spent the greater part of 3 hours walking around the cold campsite with my sleeping bag while everyone else was bundled up shivering. I was skeptical at first, but this sleeping bag proved its worth very quickly.

This is the most important change to sleep systems in the last 10 years. Watch as everyone else starts to copy Sitka's brillance. Maybe a future down version please. I'd love to help test it.

I agree with the first review. Not all of us like to crawl into bed every night in our sweaty clothes. Some nights OK but not every night. A bit more fluff would be good.

Great product! It is Sitka so it is high quality and is great for those who do not like the strait jacket feeling when sleeping in a mummy bag. Wearing my puffy jacket it is a game changer for me!

Wanted to love it
I am somewhat of a sitka fan and was excited to try the bag. however, after 4 not so good nights,

I am 5' 10" a regular bag is to small if you sleep on your stomach.
the bag is cut pretty tight. I did not know what claustrophobia was until I used this bag.

some of my other issues.
Its sold as a 30 degree bag, when in fact it is a 38 degree bag.
it is far heavier then other synthetic bags of the same class.
it is cut very snug,
unfortunately i am giving up and returning; not a good value and one of Sitka's few epic fails in my opinion.

The first reviewer doesn’t ‘get it’! This bag is meant to function with your clothing system so you don’t have to have a -(30) degree bag that is heavy… you use the puffy to augment the bag since you’ll need your puffy as an integral part of your system — why don’t people pay attention to the functionality and design?!
