The Colt M4 CQB-R AEG is a great Airsoft M4 Rifle. Fully licensed Colt trademarks/logo M4 airsoft carbine with rails. Gun is primarily polymer built, with some metal components. The rail system, upper/lower body, furniture, stock sights, and Buffer tube are all plastic. The outer barrel, sling attachments, magazine, and other moveable parts are metal.
Overall a very good product. The main body and gearbox are made out of metal which makes it very durable. Took it out to airsoft fields a couple times and was impressed with the performance. Didn’t jam a single time using .25 gram bb’s (shot at about 335-350 fps with .25’s) . The battery lasted all day after charging it the day prior to going. Hop up is easy to adjust as well. The only problems I ran into with it were that the spring inside is hard to access so if you wanted to lower the fps (feet per second) for indoor fields it would be challenging. The only other con is that the front sight is non-removable so if you’re planning to put an aftermarket sight on it you would need a riser for the rail. Other than those two things this is a good AEG, especially for beginners in airsoft.
I bought 2 last year. Both are holding up really well. Shoots .30g bbs just fine. I've been using 9.6 volt batteries which makes them a bit snappier. I've had people at my local airsoft field be impressed ask me if I've upgraded them at all. Nope. Just a paint job. Really my only complaint would be that I wish they were quieter and it was a bit more balanced (really only an issue if you put a 2 point sling on), but at this price I really can't complain. Oh also the fps is more like 365 with .20s if I remember right.
This is a great beginner airsoft gun. It way better the game face AEG's that they sell at scheels, also it is made of pretty good plastic and it also has metal internals wich is a big selling point for most budget AEG' rifles.
