I bought this to capture a timelapse, and it has been super easy using the android app to update settinngs, see battery life and signal, and get the latest photos. It also worked great for capturing wildlife at night when set to photo mode. Customer support was very quick and helpful when I ran into an issue- don't forget to update the firmware!
Compare to more expensive camera's this is ok. The FOV is not great and the brightness of the pictures is so so. It's nice that it was so easy to set up and hook to my cell service. If this is your first cell trail camera it is a ok starter.
Great cameras for the price at time a little too sensitive and wind up with several pictures of nothing but brush even when set to low sensitivity overall happy with quality of pictures especially the HD plan on buying 5 more
This camera doesn’t work!!! When we called the company for help, they refused to help and said we just have to return it. Unfortunately we live miles away from a scheels. This has been a horrible experience.

Hands Down Awesome
I received 3 of these for Christmas. I have a total on 9 cameras on our hunting lease. The 9 existing cameras are not cellular or Spypoint. They are a mix of lets say very high rated cameras, we bought different brands trying to find ones that worked the best for us. The problem I was having is that someone or something is happening to my cameras every time I go to check them the time is off or the batteries are dead and even sometimes a card may be missing so I was looking for something that will let me know when animals are actually coming into my area and if my feeder is going off at the right times. I will break it up below so you can look for what is important to you.
1. Set Up Hands down the simplest game camera I have ever powered on. I have tried all the major and some off brands, this one is absolutely the easiest I have ever set up. Even with the cellular transmission.
2.) Battery Life These thing eat batteries. I mean make no mistake you are going to want to run a 12 volt battery with a solar panel system if you are going to leave these in the woods for any length of time. I opened the box and set it up in a spot where my dogs would trigger it. I set the delay (the time in between when the motion sensor will trigger a photo) to 5 mins. I set the transmit time to instant. Within 24 hours the batteries were to low to transmit. It took pictures and saved them to the SD card but would not transmit. These were Kirkland AA brand new batteries. I know they are not optimal for game cameras but it is what I had on hand.
3.A.) Cellular Photos The photos that are sent to you through the app on your phone or the website are a lower resolution than what is stored on the card. The Cellular photos are not high res BUT you do have a new option of buying an HD photo package. At the time of this post they are offering 50 HD photos for $5.00. You will have to order them through the app. The cell photos are descent enough to tell me what is in the area and identify different animals. I can clearly tell the difference between 2 different animals. I am happy with the lower resolution right cell photos now.
3.B) SD Card Photos I am not taking pictures of wild animals to publish in magazines or make money off of the photos. The pictures are definitely of good quality. They are not the best I have seen but they are certainly not the worst either. I have noticed some blurring, not on all of the but on some. Nigh photos have a very powerful flash and sometimes if the subject gets to close it will reflect too much white back at the camera. The night photos are pretty good so I am happy.
4.) Issues I had 1 camera that I received out of 3 that would not get a signal at first. When I powered it on it would not go above 1 bar. I took it around with me on Christmas day to see if it was the camera or the area. Six hours after I activated it it randomly started transmitting. It was transmitting a photo every minute I change the delay to 5 minutes. It would send a photo every 5 minutes. It was not detecting motion it was just transmitting a photo when the delay time was reached. I had this happening with another brand of cameras that I had purchased and it was a nightmare of looking through hundreds of photos to find animals. I was not going to keep the camera so I contacted customer service through the chat feature on the website. They told me I would need to factory reset the camera and sent me the steps. It was a little lengthy so I copied the instructions and disconnected the chat. It was fast and she was super friendly. It did not fix my issue. I eventually took the camera back to Bass Pro, they swapped it out no problem.
5.) Customer Service The Chat feature is pretty cool on the website. I have used it several times now. The first person I got seemed to understand my issue. She quickly directed me and said please contact us again if your problem is not fixed. This was the issue addressed above I tried it, it did not work so I chatted again, see below.
2nd Contact This person on the other end told me almost immediately that I would need to send the camera to them and they would look at it and determine to repair or replace the camera. I said well I am planning a trip next weekend (6 days away) would I have the camera back. I kid you not his response was maybe, maybe not. I asked if I could return it to the store and he said yes. Boom problem solved. This guy just acted like he couldn't be bothered trouble shooting any issues.
3rd Contact After replacing the camera, I had to remove the camera from my account. Once again I used the chat feature. I was on the chat for less than 4 minutes total. Problem solved. The person was fast and friendly. I could tell by the verbiage they used that they were not American. It is ok with me but it leads me to believe they are a call center with a script and not the actual company. So if you are looking to troubleshoot something I would try to get an actual Spypoint employee on the phone.
I will write and update once these have been actually in the weather and in use for a while.
Had for 8 months no problems. Setup is awesome and app is awesome! Added 2 more because this saves you money. Hunt when he’s there stop wasting your time!!
Living in Northern Wisconsin it can be difficult at times to get cell coverage! I purchased two of theses cameras, and so far they are awesome! Great cell coverage, great photos and they bring a new tool to the table to pattern these big bucks. It has also helped me stay out of my best hunting location until the time is right. I will be purchasing several more of these cameras!
I bought this camera to run at a new farm i got permission to hunt and it hasnt let me down yet. It was a little finicky doing the firmware update but after i got that figured out i havent had a problem since.
I bought this camera 2 months ago and I love it. It is in a remote area of our hunting property and having the ability to see what's going on there is the best thing scence sliced bread. It takes awesome day time as well as night time pics. The range of site is another plus. The only down side to it is it ears up the 8 AA batteries about every 2 weeks. I am looking into the 12volt battery for it to help keep human scent down to a minimum. I will be adding another sky cam to my arsenal
I have had one of these cameras out in the woods almost everyday for close to 3 years and it's still going strong. I have had no problems to date with it. It's even taken a fall off my ATV on gravel and was good to go afterwards.
found the camera easy to set up. the phone app was also easy after I got the password and login correct. customer support by email is very good. Their telephone support is very overloaded, don't even try. I spent 1 hour + 3 times with no answer. Night time pictures are not very good but I am experimenting with camera placement to see if I get some improvement.
I was looking for a camera to monitor a construction site. My requirements were something that was self-powered, operated off a 4G network that would send me pictures to my phone when motion was detected, and affordable. The Spypoint Link Evo met all of these requirements. I have the camera deployed on the site for well over a month and it is working flawlessly. Definitely some things to keep in mind to get the best out of the camera: Use lithium AA batteries as recommended – apparently, the unit can be finicky about the power source. Use a good quality SD card and don’t exceed 32GB. And make sure you have decent 4G signal (testing it out at home before I had it out on the site, I only had 2 bars – sometimes it would fail to send pictures). Tech support is good – I had one issue with the camera and they were able to resolve it via their online chat rather quickly. I also had an issue with the app not working right after I activated the camera. Simply resetting the app password seemed to resolve that. The free monthly plan works good for “not so active” sites, but if you upgrade to a subscription, be aware the company is out of Canada and you may get hit with an “international point of sale fee” from your bank when you subscribe (this was not disclosed when signing up). I do have a couple of suggestions for improvements – 1.) The camera needs a “test mode” to help set it up. Something as simple as pressing a button on the camera and doing a walk-test with the red LED to determine the detection area would be nice. Maybe the same press, forces the camera to take and upload a picture to help in fine tune the viewing angle. 2.) You can set up the camera for motion detection or time lapse mode, but not both. It would be nice to have the camera, while in motion detection mode, take a picture once every 24 hours and upload it so you know the camera is still operational. Overall, very satisfied with the camera and is exceeding my expectations.
I have had my Spypoint Link-Evo out for about a week now. The only improvement that I think would make me give 5 stars would be to make some kind of anti fog lens. When there is dew out or it has rained the photos are extremely blurry. Other than that the camera is great and letting me see lots of activity.
Super easy set up! I had mine up and running in 5 min! Camera is extremely reliable and functions fantastic on as little as 1 bar of service! I have had mine I'm the woods for over a year now and it has never let me down! Highly recommend!
Camera works GREAT!! Our dog ran away last week and we put the camera on the live trap. We were able to watch the trap all night until we got our dog. The camera took great pictures and never missed a beat. Couldn’t have done it with out our Spypoint Link-Evo!!
This is a very nice camera. I’ve hunted for a long time and never had a camera in the woods until now. Seeing tracks is one thing but with this camera you can see the deer making them pretty cool. Setting at home having your phone go off within a minute or so after something crosses in front of the camera what more can you ask for. I have it setup to send pictures every time it takes one and the battery’s are still at 50 percent and it’s been steady taking pictures for over a month. I put it about 8 foot in the tree and it works fine. I tested it at my house before I put it in the woods were we hunt and it was taking pictures of my dog running around in my back yard he is about 30 yards from where I have the camera that’s pretty good. Sorry for writing so much. You need to try it you’re self.
The camera works great although not quite as clear pictures as I expected. My old very expensive camera sent pictures instantly but cost was very high, over $40 per month. Link Evo is very economical and sends pictures in batches. Customer support has been fantastic !! My first camera failed after many months in the woods and was replaced quickly. My second camera failed due to a software update at Spypoint and it too was replaced quickly. So I am on enjoying camera number 3 and only paid for one. Camera number 3 is functioning fine. Although I am at the outer limits of coverage with 1 or 2 bars I enjoy seeing game activity from 100 miles away.
Bought this camera just before Christmas at Cabelas Canada. The first one was a dud. I could not get it to work. After the holidays I called Spypoint and we worked together to get it to work, with no luck. They told me to return it for another which Cabelas did with no problem. The new one works great, running now with no problems.
my only problem has been getting the camera to recognize the sd card. tried long formatting it several times, camera still won't recognize it. probably try another card, but have tried 2 already. i have 2 of these cameras and the other one has no problem with the sd card.
I got 3 Force 10s and and bought 2 Link-Evo cams in the fall, had a few problems from time to time during hunting season, not with Spypoint, but with Verizon. Spypoint went above and beyond. All problems have been solved, and I love my cams. I would, and have recommended Spypoint products to anyone. Tried them all and they're simply the best.
I like camera and I am satisfied with operation and pictures. The most disappointed aspect of SPYPOINT is they gouge me 75$ for three months per camera. If I ran 4 cameras that’s $300 dollars per hunting season which is to costly for me. I am considering other company’s with more cost effective plans.
I will always buy from Spypoint trail camera. There very good product and awesome link cameras. They send straight over in sec when they are transferred. Anthony Walden
Had the camera for about 2.5 months....i deff love it and am addicted to it..love seeing real time pics of wats going on at the properry while im away....unfortunetly after a freak accident and i no longer have a camera as it is broken. I called spypoint and the canceled mu subscription and refunded last months payment and deleted the camera off my account which was great....am kinda bummed out that they didnt try and offer me a replacement at a discounted price or even better. mayb soon ill have another and can pick back up where i left off...the freak accident was my buddy(age 37 killed his very 1st deer which was an 8pt and not only did he hit his deer it also hit my camera...lol...his deer was the last picture it took!!!
I own 4 of these cameras and love them. I don’t have to go in to the woods and put my scent all over the place I can just set home and look at the pictures and know what stand I want to hunt. Awesome Products keep up the good work.
I am in my second year of running 4 of these, all with external antennas and external 12v battery's. I have had a couple of issues and I must say that the best part about these cameras is spypoint support. I had one that flat out died, Sent it in on a Monday and had my replacement back in my hand by Friday. Sent a second in recently due to a broken antenna and again had back in my hands the same week. I did experience the Verizon issue, I sent that one back to swap for a ATT. I am a IT professional and have learned over the years to pick companies based on support first as all technology comes with problems. The support makes the difference.
I got this as a gift and used it to monitor a parcel of land away from my home. It worked great! I put it away for the summer, removing card and batteries. Got it our for the fall, new batteries and card, and it wasn't working. SpyPoint made it very easy to return for repair and they sent me a brand new unit. I'm getting great shots of deer now! I know now why this is the fourth SpyPoint camera I own and the other brands are laying in a box. I also have some external batteries and two Xcel cameras and am happy with all their products.
I bought two of these put them out four days ago getting good pictures. I like the fact that I don’t have to walk in the woods to pull the SD card. Only reason I didn’t give them a five star rating is because I’m going to have to change the batteries soon. I bought heavy duty alkaline batteries thinking they would last. Only been running for four days already down to 30% life left. Hopefully I can find batteries that will last longer. The same batteries in my other cameras last about two months taking up 720 pictures before I pull the SD card
The camera works great never has missed a thing, The problem is the app, it would be nice if you could set multiple times for off and on. Also if you could have a picture on demand would be nice. I am using this for a security camera not a trail cam. So being able to set it off during the work day and back on in the evening would be helpful. The way the calendar is set up you can have it on from 12:00 AM until 6:00 AM, but then it will not come on again until midnight the next day.
bought this a while ago and have had it in the woods for about two weeks. works amazing and transmits picture quickly. Photos are somewhat grainy, but all brands pictures are too. really impressed with nighttime pictures and trigger speed. for the price and a free plan, i am not sure why someone would buy another brand
I am very please with my spypoint cell cam. Easy set up and great price. I get good quality pictures and love waking up to all of the activity. Also love the new buck feature that allows me to worth through hundreds of photos in seconds looking for the bucks.
Have had this product for just over a month... And
Right out of box easy breezy set up, to customer service! Excellent!!! Totally recommend to family and friends!!!! Great price value as well. Can't say enough great things. Picture quality awesome, night pictures excellent as well too.
Purchased a little more than 6 weeks. Stolen after it caught a reported trespasser. A great disadvantage is that it is not camouflaged and stands out for a taker. A second disadvantage is that the flash range is more like 25 feet than 90 feet. Pictures transmitted are good. Pictures saved to SD card are super.
