I use this pocket to hold my rangefinder and extra ammo. It holds these items with room to spare and opens easily with one hand. Like my other SG gear, it is very well built. Unlike my SG pack, this little guy is not very weather resistant. I sealed the seams but still get a lot of moisture through the zipper. I'd like to see a version that keeps my things dry through days of hunting in rain and snow.
The accessory pocket was easy to install and perfect size and location to keep my cell phone, gps, knife, wind-checker, and any other small commonly used items readily available. A great addition to my pack.
I picked up two of the camp pockets to daisy chain together and hang in my solo for whitetail hunting. The two mount to the internal buckles and hang inside the pack on my system. The pockets are big enough to hold a pair of 10x42 Binos, a beanie, and a rangefinger with more room to spare! Great addition to any SG pack.
Best stuff you can buy. I have turned several people over to stone glacier now and they are riding the same train as me. I have hunted with guys that run eberlestock, kiui etc they all convert. Buy one pack and be done.
Nothing really special about the accessory pocket. It serves its purpose and is convenient to put on the belt of your pack but its design is nothing special other than that. It holds a rangefinder well as well as smaller items you might want access to. Wish it was just slightly bigger to hold a cell phone that many use as their camera, mapping app, etc. Doesn't fit my phone. In all it is a good product, just nothing amazing.
Wait...A hip belt pocket that you can actually unzip with one hand? A hip belt pocket that you can actually fit your gps unit and multiple calls? A hip belt pocket that does not make a loud ripping velcro noise every time you open?Yessir!!!
Hard to be stoked about a pouch but this one is well made. Can’t comment on durability as it was only used on one training hike about 12k. I used it for my gps and snacks. Appears to be skookum though...nice stitching, material seems like it will last. Easily opened and closed with one hand. Low profile enough that you don’t hit it with your arm when walking. Attached well to the xcurve belt, can’t see why it wouldn’t ride well on any pack.
I added 4 of these accessory pockets to my pack. I like to keep small items separate so they are easy to find and these little pockets are perfect for storing (headlamp, GPS, phone, keys, insect repellent, tissues, etc.)
