The Stone Glacier Rain Cover provides complete weather protection in wet climates. Using silicone impregnated 30D nylon and seamless construction, the Pack Cover provides 100% waterproof coverage for your pack. The cover will fit all packs from the Solo 3300 to the Sky Guide 7900. Bottom shock cord attachments secure the cover to the frame, allowing quick access to the pack without the risk of the cover blowing away in nasty weather. Weighing a minimal 3.5 ounces including stuff pouch, the Pack Cover will provide added protection from the elements.
Worked decent on my evo 40/56 , I run a lid and rear attached bag it’s a little bit small if you have things like tripod , cook pot and the accessory bag installed. Super light and packs away really small
Fits as intended, looks thin and light weight, I hope it holds up when hiking through heavy brush. Too bad it wasn't included it with the pack and not part of an additional accessory to purchase. Still love this pack and company.
As with the other Stone Glacier products I have, this is quality. It’s thick enough that I feel confident in it, but light enough to not worry about having it in my pack. Elastic is good, and I can expand my pack while using the same rain cover.
Perfect fit for what I am looking for. Larger sizes tend to just be wider, and make it uncomfortable to add a rain jacket. So as a 6'2" 185 pounder, I went with a large because I hate not being able to layer up here in southeast Alaska. The sleeve ends right at the wrist and bottom covers the belt buckle. Comfortable and just what I wanted.
Worked well on my bear hunt. My pack and gear were dry. The rain cover appears to be designed for a full capacity pack. It would be nice to have a way to cinch it down with thin bungees when the pack is not at capacity to keep the wind from blowing it up and whipping it around. Overall a good product.
Unlike with the backpack itself, which I like very much, the rain cover, I found very disappointing, mainly because of the lack of a Welcro strap to secure the rain cover to the backpack. The tightening straps were insufficient, so were the little hooks. We experienced quite heavy winds on several occasions, and had it not been for the quick reaction of my hunting partner, my rain cover was ripped right off the backpack. He managed to grab it before it flew away. His Peregrine rain cover is fitted with such a strap and he had no issues with heavy winds whatsoever. I simply left the rain cover stowed away after that, only using it a couple more times during light rain. For my total cost of Can $100.00 I certainly have buyer's remorse and I must ask you whether you would take it back, as I wont have any use for it. I will purchase a Peregrine rain cover. What is your money back return policy? Judging by the great quality of your backpack, I can only conclude that the rain cover came as an after thought, clearly not matching the versatility of the backpack. It would also be good to have a Stone Glacier logo on the rain cover to indicate what is up and down.
At first I didn't think a rain cover was really necessary, then I got poured on one day and I immediately ordered one of these things. Its very light weight and tiny when in its stuff sack. Keeps the pack completely dry, highly recommended.
I took the pack out for the first time the other day. Did a short 10 miles with about 35lbs on. Once I figured out to use the lower load lifter attachment point everything went smooth. Pack was super comfortable, light weight, and stable. My only complaint is that you have to purchase the extra pockets. Overall super happy with the quality of the pack cant wait to load it up with meat!
Purchased this for my 6900. It’s light and packs up into a small package. Since I live in Alaska and hunt from Spring to early Winter, it’s a definite “Must Have”. It was a perfect addition for my Sky Talus 6900 on my recent hunt. It also fits all my other packs! Cinched up tight keeps everything dry.
This pack is obviously built by folks that spend a lot of time in the mountains with backpacks on. Loving the versatility of being able to pack this thing to the gills and using it as a small day pack. I also want to add that the customer service these guys provide in second to none. I called in the morning needing a pack at my door in Juneau alaska in a week for a mountaineering trip. By that evening the pack was already out of Bozeman and to Billings. These guys are on it! Excellent quality pack, and excellent quality service. I’ll buy from these folks again for sure.
It’s the only rain cover large enough to cover my Sky 7400 pack. I’m giving it the 5 star because it does what is supposed to do. The bonus is finally being able to use the center zip on my pack, instead of using a pack liner inside my pack to keep my gear dry.
First day I had it feel off my sled deck going 40mph down the road with 20 pounds gear in it. Put a couple little holes in it guided with it for the next 2 months packed a kodiak 9ft brown bear and 5 deer 1 goat. Bad *** pack.
