AMAZINGLY THIN, ASTONISHINGLY STRONG Natural lure action and low visibility are two features that position Stren MagnaThin as a top choice for clear water or line-wary gamefish, yet the defining feature of this remarkable line is its exceptional strength-to-diameter ratio. Anglers can drop down a size or two without sacrificing strength. When strength, thin diameter and casting accuracy count, knowledgeable anglers count on Stren MagnaThin. Smaller diameter for less water drag Easy to control for long, smooth casts Low stretch
I have been using MagnaThin from inception. Cut 1’ and retie after every fish though. I was disappointed no longer available in 2# test as stated before I could outcast anyone. The picture I am showing is a 6# 10oz rainbow landed on 2# test in headwaters of Bantam River. Unfortunately my Black Lab Sabre whom accompanied me everywhere everyday had to be left home and did this to the mount
I have used Magnathin for many years usually 12lbs test. I like the thinner diameter which gives me more sensitivity than regular mono of the same strength, it allows me to throw lighter baits (1/8th & 1/16th oz on my baitcasters when bass want smaller offerings, and the thinner diameter allows greater actions of the bait w/o sacrificing strength. This is my go to mono for any occasion!!
My wife and I have used this line for many years for trout. The lake we fish has some that are large and the average is between 2 to 3 pounds. We use the 6 pound test as it is smaller that regular mono and is about the size of 4 pound mono. We catch a substantial number of fish over the summer and have not broken off any in the process.
i have used this line for 20 plus years and am an avid walleye fisherman. It is by far the best line on the market for jigging walleyes under 15 foot and most fish are caught in those depths in most lakes. Any deeper you would want braid but still would want stren megathin on the business end!!!
In three outings we caught over 150 Trout. This is the smallest diameter for what we do when fishing for Trout. When the water is crystal clear and Trout can see everything. We were able to fool them. We kept our limits of better Trout each day. There were 5-10 people fishing all around us and not catching anything with the same baits. They were just in disbelief how fast we were catching them. The 4 lb. test line in Green or Walleye was the key element. We shared some of our line with some to make a leader to see if they could catch some and they did.
I have used Stren fishing line scence the early 70s when a employee of Stren stayed at our cabins and gave my dad and me a few spools of line to try .Still using Stren line today my two sons and grand kids all us Stren.Love the product.
I fish for anything and wanted the best line for sunny's to largemouth. I tried almost every line out there. By far the 6# magnathin was the answer. I lost a huge palomino and large mouth when they snapped the line getting them into the boat with other line. Since I started using the magnathin I haven't had any issues. It cast's like 3 or 4# test, strength of an 8-10 # and sets a hook nicely. All caught on Magnathin, plus some bass and perch
I have been using Magnathin since it came out. Before that, it was Original Clear-Blue. My color preference is the walleye or moss green. Unbeatable for strength, durability, castability, shelf-life, fishability, etc. etc. I primarily fish for stream trout and steelhead in West Michigan rivers
Started using this about a year ago. Wanted a smaller diameter line that was still strong and would still cast well. It casts great and lets me have control of my lure. Not noticing any line memory problems either. If you're not using this line you should be.
I have used this product for probably at least 20 years. I switched from the original because the line diameters were smaller but with the same # strength. It has incredible "castability" and in my opinion is the best for the money in this class.
I have been using Stren MagnaThin for a few years now. I like the fact that you get the feel of a thin line with the strength of heaver test lines. I fish mainly for Steelhead and Chinook salmon. I'm a firm believer that the quicker you can get a fish in the less fish you lose and the least amount of stress it will put on a fish if you want to release them. I committed to Stren MagnaThin to the point that I bought my line in 2600 yd. spools.
Stren MagnaThin is the best line on the market today. Discovered it several years ago and will not use anything else. This line provides smooth casts, low visability and excellent strength. Best line available today for quality fishing.
I received this line and it has not let me down. It cast great, I had to get use to it at first, because it cast better than most and I was casting too far and getting caught in the brush! It has a low stretch which I think helps with hook sets and not getting as many loops on your stool and twist ups. It has great strength too; I purchased the 4lb test and it is a very thin diameter and has no problem bringing in 20" brown trout!
