Verve 2+ low step seemed the perfect fit. It was fine on paved road but I was in for a surprise when I hit some bumpy surfaces. Riding over rough/bumpy surfaces was jarring and uncomfortable. Perhaps it's the weight of the bike or lack of front suspension- maybe both. Second problem. Choosing the correct carrier. In my case I needed a rear hitch carrier to accommodate a low step design and a heavy bike. My Yakima carrier was one of the few that worked . It even came with a ramp to load the bike due to its weigh. Bottom line: Verve 2 low step is fine for getting round town as long as the roads are not too rough. BTW I inquired about replacing the front fork with one with shocks but it wasn't practical or cost effective.
