I bough the Trek FX1 about a month back. After years and years of little physical activity, I pushed myself to do something about fitness and choose cycling as a means to get back in shape. FX1 turned out to be the best decision, the bike is so easy and eager to ride that I have started enjoying the rides. I ride about 40-50kms every weekend which takes around 2-3 hours depending on gradient. Planning to do a 100km ride soon and I am sure the FX1 will be the perfect machine to do that. Loving it.
My 1st bike as an adult. Was looking for something to hit the trails with (paved/crushed limestone). I put about 30 miles a week on it during the summer and it's been great for the last two years. No maintenance needed. Shifts great and rides smooth.
After using a very low quality department store bike, this was quite the experience seeing what it's like to have a quality functioning bike now for a few weeks. I use my FX-1 about every day and it's great in the city and on the streets. Shifting is smooth and enjoyable on the paddle shifters. The bike is significantly lighter than my last one (not surprising) and is super easily picked up and carried down some stairs with only one hand. It's also an incredible upgrade in the speed department and the wheels roll very fast when I raise the PSI on them. People complain about the "bumpiness" of the FX-1 and it definitely isn't a smooth ride on brick or cobble but overall it's a pretty nice ride if you stand up a little on bumps/cracks (the roads here are pretty bad too). The grips and seat were both things I was a little worried about having to change but they both are very comfortable to me. The seat is not super padded but overall looks and feels pretty nice for the most part. The handles have been very comfortable for me as they're not spongy and plush but spread the pressure of your palm on the grips sort of in an ergo type design. Pedals are good. Overall very happy with my purchase. One annoying thing is the bike came with a quick release on both the front and back wheel so it's a little risky to lock up in the city without 2 locks. Oh and I didn't even mention how good it looks. It looks very good.
I bought this for a 12yo boy who is tall and lanky. Men's M was the perfect for a long torso, and he will be able to ride it for a couple years (I hope). He tried 4 other bikes in the city as well (Giant, Specialized, Coop, Cannondale). We loved the disk brakes on a different model, but felt this would be fine for now.
I ride this bike to coffee shops and bars, to meet up with friends, and for a little exercise after the work day. It's been a blast in the time that I've had it. Definitely lighter weight than similarly priced bikes from REI, this bike is fast. It feels good to get back into biking after a 15 year break.
I use it to go back and forth to work. I am very satisfied with how it handles and love how I feel after riding it. The seat took some getting used to but overall I'm very satisfied. Coming back in a few weeks for a Bontrager Helmet.
I got this bike for my 25th birthday. The last bike I had was one from my 10th birthday. I was a tall kid, but I never realized how much I had outgrown that size small adult bike until this bike. So just the sheer difference of "WOW THIS BIKE FITS ME" is incredible, but it also rides so smoothly, its so fun to be on, looks great, and made me fall in love with biking. I am a little bummed every time I have to go somewhere with my car now. I love my new bike.
Love this bike! I've had mine for a few months this now and it was the beat purchase over made in a long time. Rides smooth on and off road, that's what's great about a hybrid. The price is great! Its perfect for someone getting into cycling or just a commuter. I've received so many compliments from other cyclists about my bike.
Braking, Handling, Steering are good. The tires that come with it are good. I like the black color so I got the Black. Can't wait to put some upgrades in this bike. I ride 10-15 miles a day all around my city and I love this bike.
The ride is so smooth, quite and very fast. Perfect for biking around the neighborhood and bike path. I love the bike so much, I'm getting another one for my wife in smaller size. Great bike at a great price.
I absolutely love my new bike. I use to say I'll never put that much money in a bike. I'm so glad I did. Now my entire family wants one. Great investment, looking forward to many many rides in the future. Next bike purchase will be for my sons birthday in October. Now I have to learn when to change gears.
I use it for exercise. I do stretching and resistance exercises and go for a 25 minute bike ride at a uniform cadence. I've increased my bike times to once a week for 50 minutes. Now I do every 3rd day for 50 minutes. My bike routes have short hilly country roads. Some road ways are patched. All are asphalt. The bike is comfortable to a limit. My butt and wrists would be very fatigued after 1 hour.
This is my first "actual" bike. After hearing some advice from a friend, I decided to check the FX1 out, and so far it has been amazing! I don't know a lot about bikes, but the shifting, the weight, the looks, and the feel of the bike are all amazing. Very easy to ride and the different gear settings ensures you can get the most out of any elevation change. Would recommend to anyone looking into delving into the complicated world of bikes!
I bought this bike 10 months ago and it still works like the first day. I took it to my bike store for the first time in 10 months and the only thing needed to do were some little adjustments in the brakes. Now I'm upgrading to the FX 3 Disc, but if you want a bike for commuting, ride far at your own pace, and have fun for a decent price, this is your bike!
I got this new at a Scheels a couple of years ago for exercise, trips to the gym and greenway rides. It is a solid bike for these purposes, for which I also added fenders (for rainy days), a rack (to carry gym gear and other supplies) and I changed the handlebars and saddle for personal preferences (an ergo bar and a royal gel saddle). I have a road bike, but I use this when I don't feel like getting too serious.
Weight: This one is slightly heavier than its peer, however, the difference is very minimum. Part: I think the part is good enough for street, the steel fork is actually feeling pretty good, better than my 1500 USD road bike. Tire: This is the best. It is very wide so comfortable enough, but not slower that much compare to my 1500 road bike, at least I cannot tell the difference.
I would recommend this one, the price is fair, I checked a couple different brand one with higher price tag, i think this one is the best.
I use my bike for light exercising and just enjoying a nice ride out. The only thing I would add or change is the seat. Actually, I would just add a gel cover for a little more comfort. Other than that it's a great bike and easy to handle.
