I bought about 3 weeks ago and man let me tell you, I love this rod. Very strong and very reliable. Haven’t had my first catch yet but the rod is amazing. Very light on the hand. Easy to put together and easy to take apart for storage. This 2 piece 7 ft rod fits perfectly in my car for travels and at home. The reel is amazing and be easily changed if needed. I love the size and it’s medium heavy action. Great for any type of fishing. You will not regret getting this rod. I love the colors too.
I've had this rod and reel for about a year and it works great. I do a lot of salt water fishing and I thought I'd use my combo. My girlfriend ended up catching a 40lb black drum on this combo. I had 50lb, power pro line!!! Best combo for the price
I bought a ugly stick when they first came out it cost about 50 bucks I also got a Mitchell 300 and I have caught a lot of catfish and bass it never gave me any trouble I still have it and would not take a million dollars for it well maybe it has never failed me yet
I bought my first Catfish combo four months ago and it is a great all around rod. I liked it so much I bought a second one. I use it for casting and trolling. The flex in this rod is perfect for hooking and landing big Lake trout while trolling, it keeps good pressure on the hook and reduces single hook spit outs. Ugly Stick keeps producing solid gear and this one is an all around winner for all lake and river fishing! Thanks
Bought as a combo for catfish, rod is great. Reel is okay, not a great caster, but that is with new line, will give it a bit to get better. Sometimes the after casting the bail is hard to get back over to retrieve. Not bad over all for the money.
My wife and I both enjoy catfishing above all other. We both use two catfish ugly stick combos. I very rarely miss a hook set. And have yet to loose a fish due to equipment failure. Maybe due to old or undersized line but never due to equipment. Also own a striper ugly stick it is a great combo also
I bought 1 of these combos because we were catching some good size cats that we were loosing on 12 lb line and smaller rod/reel combos. Used it the first weekend I had it and it far exceeded my expectations. I went back and bought 2 more. Used them all summer and caught multiple 10-20 lbs cats. No complaints at all.
I bought this combo 2 weeks ago I wish the combo was available sooner. I had great look on the water with this rod, it's strong, durable, and great for big fighting fish. I recently went to the pier in Cherry Grove, SC with saltwater fishing it held its own with two nice size stingrays and few other fish. Strongly recommend this combo.
Bought the rod 2weeks ago. Got on the water for a weekend trip. With the right weight bait line flys off the reel. Casting further and smoother. And had no problems with knots and tangles from too much line coming off.
