This is the 6th Vortex optic that I’ve owned and it’s a great quality scope as with everything else Vortex I’ve owned. However, on my M1A, I had to get different height scope rings to be able to zero this scope to my rifle. With the medium height rings, the scope bottomed out at 3” high at 10yds. The eye relief was perfect for forward mounting the scope. One thing I didn’t consider was the very limited field of view. I prefer a wide field of view in scopes and this scope has a very narrow FoV at 18.3ft down to 5.2ft when zoomed in. The Crossfire scout scope was easy to install and zero. I knew a scout scope wouldn't have the field of view of a conventional scope, but the clarity of the view is still amazing. I was able to shoot a 100yd group that was less than 1-1/2 inches. In the past, I was always satisfied with a 4 inch group using the iron sights.
