amazing and light
awesome clarity! I first bought the diamondback but was unhappy because I have the 15x56 vultures and those are much clearer then the diamondback spotter. So I went with this Razor and love it. Crystal clear and really light spotter! Great for when your hiking. well worth the money and of course cant beat the warranty.

EXCELLENT SPOTTING SCOPE
I purchased this spotting scope in late summer for an upcoming October backcountry mountain goat hunt and my wife’s trophy bull elk hunt. We had researched and reviewed numerous brands and models before deciding on this one, our top end budget was $1000, and this one was well under that amount on sale. This scope is surprisingly light. Since this would need to be back packed in we had to eliminate the 85 mm objective lense sizes due to the weight. Clarity in the HD models is in a class by itself and is readily apparent compared side by side with the non HDs.
On the 5th day of my goat hunt we had spotted a billy approx. a mile away and 1200 vertical feet up at the top of a mountain. With the fine adjustment knob we were able to inspect and judge the goat and determine it was indeed a mature billy. A lesser scope couldn’t have done it and we probably would have passed on him. (Unfortunately after the shot he tumbled down through some cliffs and broke the ends off both horns)
On my wife’s bull elk hunt we were able to examine numerous bulls at various distances before deciding on the one she was able to make a stalk on and shoot. Several bulls were up to 1 1/2 miles away that we passed on.
Having a quality spotting scope and being able to judge animals eliminates those long hikes.
Only downside is at very low light it doesn’t gather enough light to make judging at long distance possible.

The 5 stars are for Scheels.
I got a great price on the older model so it was a no brainer as much as I wanted the newer model. But the 5 stars are for Scheels. My scope showed up damaged (clunking noise inside the scope) and they quickly helped me get it returned and had the new one in the mail as soon as the mailman picked up the damaged one. Unbelievable customer service throughout the entire process!!!
