I was using authorized an scope mount (Burris PEPR), and the 1-6 could not hold zero on three occasions; with each of them centered around horizontal zero being ineffective. I sent the scope back to vortex they sent me a new one, and each time could not hold zero, and being fed up I finally called the company to explain myself. Stating that if I send the scope back for the 4th warranty repair how will I know you will fix the problem, because if it happens again I will never purchase a product from vortex again. Larry, vortex customer service, said that this is bullsh*t what has happened to you and that vortex products should have never done this in the first place. He then proceeded to make amends with my dissatisfaction by upgrading me to the strike eagel 1-8x24 and 2 day return shipping.
This worked, this has improved my dissatisfaction, but I assured Larry that even if this new scope breaks again, you will lose a customer.
I bought this product about a year ago. Mounted on an AR - 15. 5.56. Clear visibility until you shoot 2-3 shots, then view finder becomes increasingly blurry. Followed specs, mounted and torked appropriately. Once I let it sit for 5 minutes, it becomes clear again. Have had others at the range view and shoot with same situation. Great scope and dialed in at 100 yards, but there is an apparent vibration issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have to say I love this scope. Out the box it's simple, clean and clear.
I put this on my AR build to try out and have some 3 gun fun in the future.
Note: I did something I feared doing at first. I over tightened the rings slightly too much. Not gonna lie I felt defeated and was just distraught thinking I tank $300 I put into this scope.
After calling support describing the situation they where 100% supportive and took care of me when I sent it in. I got back a replacement which I do feel bad about cause should never have happened in the first place. Like a great friend they took care of me no judgment just that awesome helping hand. They new scope even came with directions and helpful tips to mount properly. I bought Vortex brand torque driver to make sure I don't have the same thing happen EVER AGAIN.
I got back up and shooting 1" groups at 50 yards easily.
They've earn a new customer for life for the great service and turn around time.
I also was sent this very nice swag package later I was not expecting. They sent me a nice hat, draw string bag and can cozy keep my soda cool all with the Vortex logo. My favorite is the awesome orange hat they must know it's my color. Thank you Vortex I'm beyond happy I've become a loyal customer. :
I’ve use this scope on my RRA LAR15 for a couple years now, and it’s fantastic. I’ve shot close range and out to 600 yards with this scope, the reticle is easy to use and the glass is very clear. After sighting in at 50 yards the subtensions of the reticle are spot on with the ballistics of .223 making holdovers and windage adjustments easy. The turrets are easy to use and reset to zero. Vortex does it right, I highly recommend this scope.
I bought this scope for my new ar-15. I’m fairly new to scopes in general, and it was between this and the primary arms version I’m very happy I picked the vortex. The reticle on this optic is perfect. It’s very easy to see and very easy to get on target. The illuminated feature on the reticle is nice but I don’t find myself using it very often but it’s still cool to have. The bullet drop compensator is awesome and accurate. The quick zoom change from 1x to 6x is so cool. You can go from shooting close targets to easily hitting at 300+. Definitely recommend.
I bought ge 1-6 version and could not be more pleased. It is very clear and easy on the eyes to look through. The eye relied is very forgiving and makes maintaining a sight picture easy. The Strike Eagle is light weight and compact. It is very user friendly and convenient.
I was stuck between a red dot or a small scope. So in between I got this this and it is amazing. The reticle is clear, also the illuminating feature is a big + ! ! I will definitely stick to vortex products. It’s tough, durable and I don’t mind putting it to the test !
I purchased my Strike Eagle 1-6x24 a few months ago and its functioned flawlessly. Super clear glass, quick magnification adjustability, and great illumination in low light conditions. Using it on a 5.56 build and was shooting sub 1 MOA all day with very little dialing in. I spent months deciding on what optic to buy but between the features and the VIP warranty it was an easy choice over comparable and more expensive optics. I definitely will be going with a Vortex product for my next build as well.
I purchased the 1-6 Strike Eagle optic after a massive amount of research. Since the day it was mounted I have recommended them to every single shooter exploring the 8x and under options. For the money it is hands down the best optic dollar for dollar on the market today.
The build is reliable. The glass is far clearer than it has any business being for the price. The Vortex warranty speaks for itself. Finally - a major win for this scope - the reticle is daylight bright from the 9 through 11 positions.
I’ve had my strike eagle 1-6x24 for a couple years now and I absolutely love it. The quality and value you get at this price is unmatched by any other brand. I’m running this on my .223 Wylde AR. I have 100% confidence in this scope holding zero no matter what I put it through.
Purchased this riflescope for a competition AR platform that I was building. When I got it out into the field, I couldn’t have been more pleased. I was pleasantly surprised of how crisp the glass was at both minimum and maximum magnification. The illuminated reticle is also a huge plus when shooting at low light conditions. I truly think it out performs some of its competitors higher level riflescopes.
Bought the 1x6 strike eagle, looking for something for short range targets and hunting medium to small game. Super impressed with all the great qualities of this optic, especially for the price! Crystal clear glass, intuitive turetts, adjustable light levels for the reticle, the list goes on. I’m a decent shot, but deadly accurate with the strike eagle. New favorite
I put the Strike Eagle 1-6x24 on my AR and I love the ability to be able to get off multiple close range shots as well and being able to have just enough magnification for longer shots. Also, love the reticle and lighting features it provides. Great for hog hunting.
Everybody who has looked through this scope that I bought immediately ask where I got it. They love how clear the glass it and love even more, the quality, compared to the low price. It’s a must buy for an ar platform, especially since it has close to the same quality as the $2,000+ scopes that you can get for $400
I bought this scope for an Ar-15 build where I wanted the best of both worlds for ranges with out much sacrifice. At 1x the scope is clear but there is a bit of magnification so I wouldn't call it a true 1x. However, I don't mind the difference. At distance, the reticle can be quite large out past 300 meters. With some practice, I was able to overcome that. The fit and finish is where Vortex saved money compared to the more expensive scout scopes they offer with better alloys and glass. For a budget to moderate build it will do nicely for everyone. For the price you can't do much better especially with the life time warrenty.
I'm so pleased with my new Strike Eagle 1-6x24! I've been shopping optics for some time now, and am very happy I selected Vortex. The Strike Eagle is packed full of features, simple to install, and is an excellent value for the price. I specifically enjoy the subtends designed with the 5.56 in mind... I sighted in at 100 yards, and was able to easily hit steel on our 300 yard range.
I was interested in a low power scope but several trusted colleagues stated to just get a red dot unless I could afford an expensive one. I did my own research and scooped up the Strike Eagle 1-6 and could it be happier. The glass is clear, the illuminated reticle is great, it’s held zero.. what else could I want! I shoot with both eyes open at 1x most of the time and the field of view is fantastic. I’m faster with this than my red dot.
Bought my first one for an LWRCI build and liked it so much that I bought another for a 20 inch build.
Great clarity, good reticle and coupled with an ADM mount repeatable zero. Guys at the range when trying it loved it and couldn't believe it wasn't a higher end scope (I think it is a high end scope but who am i?).
I bought the 1-6 version right before the 1-8 came out. I mounted it with Bobro mount, took it to the range for a quick zero, everyone who picks it up likes it. Great glass and ease of use. The construction is sturdy, never feel like I have to baby it. Go get yourself a strike eagle!
You won't find a better scope of this style and quality for this price. Paired with the Vortex unconditional warranty, you can't go wrong. Also, I contacted Vortex about hydro dipping the scope, they replied that it's 100% safe to run through the dipping process, AND it will not void the warranty!
I purchased this scope to upgrade the optics on my AR, replacing a very entry level red dot. The brightness and clarity of this scope is amazing! The reticle is great and glows bright even in bright sunlight! I love that the reticle is etched in the glass so even if you lose power, the scope is still functional. I have such an appreciation for how Vortex continues to go the extra mile. The scope comes with a backup battery inside the windage adjustment cap. Last but not least, how can you get better than Vortex’s VIP Warrenty. Replacement for any reason for LIFE! Gotta love a company that isn’t afraid to stand behind it’s products and clearly loves what they do!
After my wife caught me looking this scope over in the gun store, she sneaked back and bought it and surprised me with it for my birthday. I have an AR-15 that i use almost exclusively for coyote hunting. This scope is perfect for the task and looks excellent on the gun. Being able to dial down to 1-2 power makes for extremely quick shots on fast movers, while the 6 power is great for slower work. Until this scope, I always believed the higher the magnification, the better. Just like my other Vortex scopes, this scope was very easy to zero in just a few rounds. The turrets aren't designed for dialing elevation on longer shots, but they tracked very well when setting the scope up. I really prefer the capped turrets for the work this scope gets employed to do. The reticle hold overs make for fast, accurate shot placement.
If I have one criticism (and its a small one... it is that the parallax is not adjustable. For 99.9% of users, that will be a complete non-issue. The only reason it bothers me is that i cannot dial away my parallax when the scope is used with a clip-on thermal scope
The Strike Eagle far exceeded my expectations, the lenses are crystal clear. I use this scope on my AR 15 and, prefer it over my EOTech holographic. Line of site, eye relief and, fast target acquire with added dial in for distance is essential. The Strike Eagle lives up to my every expectation,Thank You Vortex!
I bought this for my Ruger AR 556 and used it a great amount. I was able to shoot groups at 200 yards with ease and also the BDC reticle was super helpful. The only thing I could have liked more was a little more power and was extremely excited to see the 1-8 Strike Eagle that was released.
It is perfect for small places or open field, the 11 levels of lighting that make them excellent for any day at any time, it helps a lot your quick approach and accuracy. And the second focal plane reticle it's perfect for used at the estimating range
This is hands-down the best entry level low-power variable scope on the market. The glass is pretty darn nice for what you pay and the reticle is clean and simple. I find the illumination to be a bit dim for bright daylight use, so I usually run in the off position. The eye box is sufficient and the magnification adjustment is pretty easy. The turret adjustments are tactile and hold their position well. If you're looking at sub-$400 glass... I don't think you can go wrong here!
I did A LOT of searching and landed on the Strike Eagle 1-6x24 for my AR build. Absolutely love this scope as it gives me the best of both worlds: quick target acquisition when on 1x power with the lighted reticle turned on AND crystal clear and clear sight picture at 6x power when I want to dial in. Great price point and can't beat that Vortex warranty!
I got into 3 gun few years back and started off with a 4x fixed sight for distance and a red dot for close in. My old eyes made it harder to see out past 300 yards with the 4x. President at my gun club put me onto Vortex for rimfire precison matches at our club and I am very pleased with my scope. When the Strike Eagle came out I picked one up and it is great. For the price you cannot beat this scope. Even my old eyes can handle steel plates out to 450 yards at 6x and I beat some of the young guys with regularity. You can't beat the customer service team with the lifetime warranty on their products.
