Simple, fast, effective. The push-button design of the VMX-3T engages and disengages the flip-mount, allowing the magnifier to lock in place. The result, 3x magnified or unmagnified views at will. Optics are fully multi-coated for optimal light transmission. Lightweight and tough, hard-coat-anodized machined-aluminum construction ensures durability. Internally nitrogen purged for reliable waterproof/fogproof performance. Ultimate magnified versatility for virtually any AR-height red dot sight.
Fully Multi-Coated Proprietary coatings increase light transmission with multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces.
Waterproof O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust and debris from penetrating for reliable performance in all environments.
Fogproof Nitrogen gas purging prevents internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures.
I got this to use on my Ruger 10/22 on which I had a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 XDR. It works very well. My only comments is the short eye relief. Not a big issue, but wish there was more. Overall a terrific product.
I guess it does what it is supposed to but in order to use it you have to shorten your but stock all the way which makes the rifle impossible to use, for me anyway, I saw lots of people using it this way on youtube, but for me it didnt work. It is one of those things that you would have to try in order to determine if it works for you.
I picked up this magnifier back in 13-14 for Afghan, and it made me feel like a school girl taking a sip of pumpkin spice anything when the fall hits . It went through a full grunt deployment of banging around, getting grimey, and going through quite a few nasty fights. Never had an issue with it. Even with constant flipping back and forth for near and far use, and tons of rounds (suppression is the name of the game baby), it stayed sturdy.
I ended up unscrewing the magnifier from the mount, and rotating the mount 180, and screwing the magnifier back in, so the flip to side push could be on the right side. The switch kept the magnifier from pressing against my kit when walking around if I had it flipped to the side.
Now, I'm a righty and normally shoot from that side and I always want my weapon up and ready to fire if I'm in a fight. Moving the push to side on the right might not make sense since it's harder to use your non firing hand to make the move. That being said, some practice easily resolved that issue and I was able to do smooth switches under fire while keeping my rifle pointed in the direction of turds.
I've kept the bad boy and have been using it here and there at the range for about 6 years now, post deployment. Still no issues.
All in all, this magnifier is awesome and rugged, and I think it secretly likes the abuse. Get out there with it and get dirty!
The fit and finish of this magnifier are possibly the best at the price range. I compared to others and this was definitely the best. I like the flip down mechanism and it works very well. It is easy to center the red dot and the clarity is second to none. Very happy with my purchase.
I bought the 3x magnifier had the gun shop install it but obviously they didn't mount it correctly. Or maybe I'm supposed to tighten it up after so many shots. I dont know. But at the range today it fell off while shooting and hit the ground from about 4 feet. I just mounted it back on my AR15 and continued shotting. And then was hitting 6" steel plates at 200 yards. Very pleased with the build and quality of Vortex. I'm sold.....
I bought this magnifier 6 month ago before being deployed abroad in a desert environment. The intent was to pair it with an EoTech 552. Both make a good duo and I’m glad I had the VMX 3T. I especially like the durability and the clearness of the glass. Plus, the flip system survived the sand and was always reliable.
Excellent quality, just mount and shoot. No need to check hardware torque, I've put 2000+ rounds down range since I've mounted this behind my eotech xps2 and haven't had any issues with hardware backing out. This magnifier REALLY clears up grainy holographic reticles.
I put this magnifier behind my Crossfire (also a quality sight) and it more than doubled the capability. It increased the range but can be flipped out of the way for closer in, best of both worlds. I'm right handed so I switched it to flip to the right rather than left so it does not block both eyes from vision when just using the Crossfire.
About 2 weeks ago I started looking for magnifier for my eotech 518 and I ended up with the vortex because I have a lot of other vortex optics, and the price was very nice and I'm from Wisconsin. The reason for 3 stars is because there a button you have to push and hold to move it back and fourth. Overall looks good and great fit.
I bought this about a month ago to try out behind a red dot. Works great, clear, adjusted well. It wiggles a little when it's in position behind the red dot, but I don't notice it. I have it set to swing to the right to stay out of the way of my left eye when not using it, just had to switch the base around just wish the release button was still in the rear but it didn't take much to get use to it being up front.
Have tried a few different magnifiers with flip mounts and for whatever reason none come close to the ease of use and simplicity of the VMX-3t system. Add the clarity, durability, and warranty of vortex glass nothing else is worth your time or money.
I bought this to run with my red dot and mounted it on my tavor. As a left hand shooter it can be hard to find things that fit correctly. This magnifyer seems to be made for people like me. It is just what I wanted.
Purchased a VMX-3T a few months ago to compliment my Sig Romeo 5. Install was straightforward, build quality is fantastic, ease of operation is buttery smooth. I've had consistent groupings at 100 - 150 yards since purchasing this product.
I've recommended it to all of my shooting buddies that are looking to enhance their red dot setups.
I bought this at the same time I bought my Strike fire II. Snapping it in and out of place is super easy to do and getting it on and off the gun when you need to work on the gun is also really easy. Its nice that you can center the red dot of the other optic in the center of this. The only down side is past about 100 yards its not as crisp of a picture as I would have liked.
After trying the Primary Arms 3x, a Sightmark 3x and comparing this to a Sig Juliet (side by side) in the store, I decided to go with this. Sightmark has some nice things, and I love my PA scope but the VMX-3T is outstanding for both quality and value. There is nothing even close that compares on both points so well. I have plans to get at least 1 more, once I get a new Gen II PST.
I’ve had this for 2 years and I find myself loving it more every time I use it. Solid magnification. The base is reversible to make it flip away from my shooting field of vision. It just works. My MBUS fits underneath, so I can swing the magnifier out of the way and pop up my rear sight if needed.
I bought this to pair up with my red dot for 2 gun competitions for the occasional times we push out past 200yds. The 3x is the perfect optic for this, it’s clear glass coupled with decent eye relief makes it easy to reach out and ring the steel. My only issue is the flip release is on the wrong side, you don’t want it flipping to the left of you are running a red dot as it interferes with the sight picture, easy fix by flipping the mount around however, would like to see a mount in the future with no release button to make it easier to mount to flip left or right.
I was trying to decide between this and a competitors magnifier. I was fortunate off to go to an Establishment that had both for me to compare side-by-side. I feel that you got all of the performance of the competitors at half the price.
This product far exceeds its competitors in image clarity, affordability, and from what I can tell durability. Match that with the integrity of Vortex and the VIP warranty you cant find a better product.
I have two of these. I use one with the Vortex Spark AR and one with the Strikefire II and I strongly recommend both red dots!
At the price point for this magnifier you can't go wrong. I've used it for over a month and can't get over the quality of the glass and it's flawless function. I've tried the Eotech magnifier and there is NO difference in performance or quality. I run the VMX-3 with the Strikefire 2 and it's a great set-up. I would definitely recommend to a friend or family.
