The first Wicked Ridge flagship model, the RDX 400 features a perfectly balanced reverse-draw bow assembly and our Reaper Cam System that together deliver consistent down-range accuracy and lighting speeds up to 400 FPS. Focused on speed-to-price ratio, the RDX 400 includes a complete package with a cocking device and Integrated String Stop System.

I bought this RDX400 with the ACUdraw After reading the instruction and a few videos a little assembly i shot it and with just a few clicks with the scope I was Driving TACKS at 20,40,and 60 yards with such tight groups that I ruined 2 of the 3 Bolts came with the bow Very happy with it no issues at all Of course with any weapon you need to know what your doing with safety always first on the list
My boy and I each purchased a new Wicked Ridge RDX 400 - I owned a ten pt crossbow for 9 years, he had a Horton for 5 years. My RDX blew up the string after two weeks and about my 15th shot thru it. Took it back to the store and they gave me a new crossbow, I talked with Randy at Ten Point and he recommended using the new Alpha nock. I couldn't be happier with the attention Ten Point service gave me, the bow is a dream to shoot, accurate, quiet, perfect fit. I have no worries this bow will last me 9 years like the previous one. Not sure of root cause for string failure.
This is my first Wicked Ridge crossbow and I am extremely pleased with it!! It is light and well balanced. It shoots great and is very accurate. Did I say that I am very happy with it and can't wait for deer season to here!
Caution, my first experience with this bow was not a pretty one, on the very first shot, my string cut in half and my cable blew off of the cam. After calling ten point, it seems that the nocks that are on the bolts that come with the bow, are the wrong nocks, and because of this, is caused the string to jump the nick and dry firing the bow. Ten point did send me new nocks, however the nocks on the original bolts that came with the bow are super glued in and can’t be replaced, forcing me to have to purchase new bolts. Ten point also had me take my bow to a fairly local archery shop for repairs and they provided the shop with a new string and also a package of nocks, however I had to pay for the labor on the bow, so now on top of the cost of the bow, I have had to pay for labor to repair the bow and purchase new bolts to replace the faulty ones and I haven’t even launched a bolt yet. Needless to say I’m not a happy camper so far
Finally got a chance to throw some bolts down range . All I can say is wow this thing is fast and very accurate . I suggest you find a target with multiple bullseye's or you will spend a fortune on crossbow bolts from Robin Hooding them . My wicked Ridge RDX 400 is a blast to shoot . Can't wait for deer season to begin.
Pros: crossbow is accurate, priced right, built to last a long time, fast @ 400 FPS. Cons: very heavy, should not come standard with aluminum arrows, Acura draw is so loud when used it will run every animal out of the woods
Bow seems to be of good quality and is fast for this price point just under$900. the acudraw on the other hand had issues with draw cords starting to fray after only 25 shots in my case. My friends ten point has a couple years of use with very few issues with the acudraw?
The RDX 400 is an awesome crossbow. I upgraded from WR Warrior and this is like night and day difference. With the reverse limbs it is more compact and balanced. It shoots, sooooo flat. My confidence in extending my range in hunting situations is greatly increased. I look forward to the upcoming deer season.
This is a mixed bag review but mostly positive. The BOW is great and the SCOPE is horrible. In total I have shot this bow over 150 times prior to writing this review. I initially had concerns that I had made a poor decision buying this bow but once I swapped the scope out with a Hawke XB30 compact I was thrilled. The bow equipped as I have it now shoots sub-1” groups (off a bench) all the way out to 70 yards (which is all the farther I have shot so far) and based on the scope setting is shooting around 380 fps with the Ten Point Pro Elite bolts. The only other thing I would add is the fact the bow comes with aluminum bolts out of the box is ridiculous. My suggestion to Ten Point would be to offer a Marksman Package or whatever that would equip the RDX400 with the Hawke Scope and the Pro Elite bolts in an effort to save the end user the time, frustration and effort of putting the pieces together on their own.
This is by far the best crossbow I ever shot. The scope is excellent quality, its weight is pretty decent and the cocking system is really nice. I have a paralyzed right arm and I find this crossbow to be quit manageable.
Don't think I could have made a better choice for my first crossbow!! Lightweight, great balance, super fast and accurate...all for a great budget price. Updated the scope and arrows and was nocking out a quarter at 20 yards after 6 shots!
You get your money’s worth. It’s light, compact, stable, accurate, and very quiet. It’s balance is excellent and at 400 feet per second, it hits hard. I’m very happy with mine but I do hope they make a few changes for their next model. For night hunting there needs to be an accessory rail forward of the handguard. To improve the manual cocking the groove at the rear of the receiver that indexes the cocking string needs to be more pronounced. And finally, the scope adjustments need to be bind free. When I wish to adjust for windage or elevation by 4clicks in any direction, I need to sail in 6 clicks and then back off by 2 clicks. This is minor but would be a dream come true if done for the next version of this cutting edge bow.
The continued development and delivery of RDX design crossbows is a hallmark of TenPoint going back many years. I've owned several reverse draw crossbows and was happily surprised and excited to see a new offering in the Wicked Ridge line. After handling and shooting it, I knew it was a keeper. It's a great offering at an unbeatable price point.
This is my third Tenpoint crossbows. Another home run. Very quiet and accurate. I've fired with the aluminum arrows that came with it and two different brands of carbon arrows. They all were very accurate. I just use the rope sled cocker. Economical and simple.
Purchased this bow from Wyvern Creation and upgraded scope to RangeMaster pro, and pro elite arrows. Since wicked ridge is the budget line I expected it to be cheaper feeling. That is not the case. Bow looks and feels great. It is pretty light and feels even lighter due to the reverse draw design. Bow is plenty accurate and packs a punch with 100 grain heads and the elite arrows, better have a good Target. Trigger is fair, plenty light, but has just a bit of cheap which isn’t really a bad thing on a crossbow. Bow is pretty narrow which will be great as I hunt some pretty thick brush that is very difficult with your traditional 20+ in wide bows. Would like to see them make it able to put quiver on top of bow without buying the bohning weaver rail mount. Bow has blown my expectations out of the water, and is much more affordable then other reverse draw bows.
a friend of mine owns an RDX 400, we were shooting our crossbows together and he let me try his. I have an older wicked ridge but his was much smoother shooting and not as noisy as mine. I am thinking of buying a reverse draw now. Very accurate and lightweight.
It was my first time to use a reverse draw X-bow. It is vibration free most part of it. Very accurate after I got hang of it. My only concern is the price. It is ok but needs to be a little low. Another issue is about the nocks and the bolt size. I prefer 22 inches but this will also good. I love to have another Ten Point because I used to have one way back. The Acu-Draw si unbeatable and maybe that is the most attracting feature to me when looking at crossbows and acu draw is way silent but I need the option to connect the handle by screw or some clamp so I don't need to take it off every time during hunting or at the range.
Its so accurate right out of the box. Light and conpact. Scope is awesome with light on it toolove accu draw. My shoulder pops out of place due to an injury. This croosbow lets me enjoy the outdoors like i like. Thanks
My husband and I just bought this bow a few weeks ago at an Outdoor Show. It is an amazing bow! It shoots so fast and very accurate. It's small, compact and easy to carry. I haven't taken it out hunting yet, but we did a lot of target shooting in our backyard and I am very impressed and can't wait for next years hunting season.
