I paid full price for the black Kyanite Hoody at an Arc'Teryx store in NY. I loved the style of the zipper and the pockets and the texture of the stretch fleece. It was just slightly clingy which made it fit very flatteringly and I loved the dark smooth black outside and soft yummy fleece inside. I wore it many times until I finally has to wash it yesterday. I saw other reviews warning of pilling, so was careful to wash in a laundry bag. Sadly it looks like a different jacket. No longer dark and smooth, the fabric contains slight pilling which attracts tiny specs of lint, which are not easily removed by a lint roller and must be plucked off by hand. But the fabric still looks dull and pilled in places. I didn't mind paying $200 for a gorgeous jacket that I could use often, but now, feel I got a cheap product for a high price. I wanted a warm fleece with a hood that I could use as a standalone jacket while running errands since I tend to be cold all the time haha . The nylon overlay helps with blocking wind to a degree—not like a hard shell jacket but pretty darn good for a fleece jacket—while you still get the nice feel of fleece inside the jacket. I wear a base layer of a t shirt or long sleeve shirt and I am nice and warm. I then purchased the Proton hoody which is excellent for hiking.
