I bought these shoes about 7 months ago. I am a nurse and only wear the shoes at work. For comfort, the shoes have been amazing. However, I am disappointed in their condition. Both of my shoes have rips by where my toes rest. Although my shifts are long, I do not wear the shoes enough for already having rips in them after 7 months of owning them. The comfort is unbeatable, but for the price, the quality is not good.
I have been buying Gel Nimbus for so many years. The new 22 design wore sour within 8 weeks. Ima thallium bought a second pair thinking it was just a fluke, but the exact same thing happened. So disappointing. Terrible design flaw!,
I am so bummed to write this review because the shoes are very comfortable, but the quality of the material on the upper part of the shoe is so bad that there are already holes worn through and I've only had them for 3 months!
I loved the nimbus 17. It was so soft and cushioned. This is exactly the opposite, hard, not cushioned at all, and narrow. Please get rid of flytefoam and bring back the soft, cloudlike cushioning of the 17! And widen the toebox!
I’ve been running in ASICS Gel Nimbus for years, and these are finally like my old favorite, the Gel Nimbus 18’s. They’re wide in the toe box, the cushioning is excellent, and overall are very comfortable to run in. Definitely my new “old” favorites!!!
I was so excited to get the Gel Nimbus 22 but was so disappointed and confused about how they can have such a perfect shoes, and then when updating the new model forget what makes their shoes good to being with. Here are the issues: 1. The back heel area; when you slide the shoe on, the back part crumples up with your sock and it feels like you have fabric wedged back there. It isn't a solid structure like their previous models. It slides and bunches and moves around. I recommended a shoe horn when putting these on. 2. There is too much fabric around the toes and ball of the foot. My foot feels like its floating around up there but then overly tight where you tie the shoe laces. Having so much give by the toes makes my toes hurt after running. 3. Shoe laces are too short. I am giving up on these (too late to return them since I've worn them and I am going to buy a pair of the 21's.
I want to start by saying that I’ve been wearing asics since 2008 and have always felt they were true to size. I received these sneakers today and was excited to try them out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even make it through the day and had to change my shoes halfway through my shift. They are so small on my feet! My toes were killing me! Again, I love asics and would recommend them to anyone; they’re the only sneaker I buy. But this pair was a total bust.
It is very comfortable, however with very little use, the fabric started to tear, both mine and my sisters. It’s very disappointing, because I was expecting higher quality for an ASICS shoes. I have my Nike shoes for years, used many times, I even threw it in the washing machine and it’s still pretty new!
This is my 4th pair of Asics shoes. My last 3 purchases were for Gel-Nimbus. This number 22 is much more cushioned around heel ankle, insole, and gel which runs both sides of heel compared to last year's 21 which had only on one side of heel. The fabric which covers the shoe is very airy. If you look into your shoe from inside out you can see light, so highly breathable. Good tread on these. Not as great as predessers, But much better than 21! I recommend these. Also the shape is much more fitted to the foot. If it let's me attach pics I will.
I bought these a few weeks ago. I feel I am still breaking them in. I was having heel pain in my last pair of ASICS, but I wear them to work and I am on my feet all day in healthcare, so it was time for a new pair. I bought ty e Nimbus -18 several tears ago and loved the cushioning of the entire foot. These were the best shoes I have ever purchased. Since then I read the reviews and it’s about a 50/50 split between loving and hating the newer versions of Nimbus. So I took a chance....I am not convinced by these 22 nimbus. The heel has great support and cushion, but the toe area feels like there is little to no cushion. In fact my toes and ball of my foot hurt after wearing these shoes. The top of the arch of my foot started hurting a few days ago. I am bummed but will wear them until they wear out and I think I will try a different model next time.
I bought these a month ago so I could start training for my marathon. After running a maximum of 5 runs (no longer than 5 mi each, the sole is already peeling off the bottom. I was surprised to see this as I was expecting the quality to last many more miles. They also fit a little small. I would size up.
I skipped the Gel Nimbus 21s as they had poor reviews. The 22s came back with great reviews and they aren't wrong at all. I've been running in another brand and feared my hips and ankles were tired of running but one run in the Nimbus 22s proved that theory wrong. No pain and I was able to run longer with ease.
I recently started running again after taking a 3 year hiatus. I was worried about shin splints and the wrong kind of support starting out as a new runner. These are AMAZING. So supportive, perfect amount of cushion, and nice and light. I ordered the wide width because I have wider feet. They fit like a glove!
I have been wearing women's gel Nimbus for years and years. Not once have I experiences tears in the fabric of the shoe. After only wearing the for about 2 months, I got tears in both of my navy blue shoes - I was disappointed. I am now wearing a new pair, hopefully I will not have problems with these shoes
How is it even possible that a shoe this bulky has such little arch support and next to no cushioning? Truly an amazing flop in design. I was a fan of the Gel Nimbus for years; wore them through track and cross country season. They always stood up to a full calander year of long runs and rough weather and my feet were never sore. I stopped using them because I wasn't running as much after college and couldn't justify the price. I switched to the Salomon X Mission 3, which was a versatile shoe for high arches with a good amount of cushioning. Decided I'd try to switch back now that I'm putting in more miles again. What a mistake. My feet are sore after most runs even under 5 miles. I really wish Asics wouldn't have gone so downhill, the Nimbus was truely a great shoe at one point. Why ruin a good thing for the sake of making something seem "new" when you had a solid product?
I have had the gel nimbus shoes for years. I’m now a front line worker and on my feet all day in the ER. These did not disappoint! So comfy and feel like I’m walking on air! My only suggestion would be to go one size bigger.
I bought these shoes a few weeks ago and have only worn them maybe 4 times. They are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on. I am in healthcare and on my feet 8 hours a day, I also have plantar fascittis in which I wore the Gel Nimbus for the longest time as the only shoes that would help my foot pain. Since wearing these my feet hurt so much more. They are not made like the older gel nimbus. I am very unhappy and displeased with these shoes.
I bought these just over 2 months ago. The knitting on top has a hole. The soles are already wearing out. Also they fit well, however it seems the comfort/padding had already began to not be as comfortable. I would like a refund or replacement. Not happy. I have always worn ASICS. Very dissatisfied.
I bought this shoe a couple days ago. This is my first ASICS ever and I was very excited to try them on. Right away I felt the gel cushioning that ASICS touts about but my left and right shoes felt like two completely different shoes. Left shoe had specific gel cushioning in my heel and forefoot and felt very cushy and comfortable(very tight though, but my right shoe only had cushioning in my heel. I hope this is problem exists only with my pair because one shoe was almost perfect. To give it one last chance, I tried to workout in them today and my right knee hurt after an hour and my left toes got numb. This could be a sizing issue with my left shoe and a lack of cushioning in my right shoe. When I first ordered the shoe, true fit indicated 8.5 as the right size(I'm a 8.5M generally) but now it says 9 as the right size. So I would suggest, order 1/2 size up if you're buying these in order to be truly comfortable. I am trying to order the Platinum version now in size 8.5 as true fit indicates that as my size and I am hoping to get a perfect pair! But until then, my rating will only be poor. Will Update the rating when I try on the Platinum Gel Nimbus 22.
I usually buy Kayanos, but after a knee injury they were not comfortable at the time. I have had my pair of Nimbus for less than 5 months and they are already loosing tread and pilling in the heel. I alternate shoes to keep this from happening and they’re still breaking down. Granted, I will say they are super comfortable. Normally I am a size 9.5 and I needed a size 10, these ran pretty small. This is the first purchase I regret of ASICS.
I have always bought asics Gel-nimbus, I am obsessed with them and they are the only shoe I buy for running and jogging as I have feet that over probate and plantar fasciitis. I have had a pair of the 19’s which were my favorite. I had 2 20’s Which I liked and a pair of the 21s which I felt were the worst, too wide and too much space in the toe box. The 22’s leave me with strides that feel so light and easy on my knees and feet. The shoe is more narrow than other versions, which I like because my feet are very narrow and a lot of shoes don’t come narrow I always end up with too much room in them, but these are great!
I have worn the nimbus shoes for years and usually wear a 9. This pair, I had to get a size 10. However, I have some pretty big toes :( so I may be unique. The 10's fit perfect but I could see how they may be a little too much space for some people. The heel has a lot of cushion and I felt great running in them today. The nimbus 18 are still my favorite and I wish you could still get them. I did not get the 21 but I do think the 22 is more cushioned than the 20 and a definite upgrade.
I have worn gel nimbus for years and years. I am regularly a size 7.5. Have always gone to an 8 for running (ALWAYS!! I ordered online and my gel nimbus 22’s are loose. As I said. I have worn this shoe for years and years.
I am excited to say that the 22 have improved the cushion. The 19’s have been by far my favorite as far as cushion. I stocked up when I tried the version after and they were so uncomfy with no cushion. Asics please keep the sizing and cushion of your models the same so we can stay true to our brand/model! The Tokyo mint tint is so pretty and flattering. Also, I am a size 7.5 and my feet are on the narrower side and love how my feet don’t slip and slide in these shoes.
Just received my Grey pair in a 9.5 and I’m not impressed. This is probably my 6th pair of ASICS Nimbus and I like checking out the new models every year and this by far my least favorite. The toe bed is too rounded and not flattering plus it runs pretty snug. I really miss the Nimbus 18...my favorite. Looks like I’ll pass on a new pair this year.
I have worn Asics for many years, but in the last couple of years I have worn a different brand. I tried to return to Asics this year with no luck. My favorite shoe was the Gel Nimbus 17! Unreal comfort and cushion and fit. I have moderate bunions and the newer versions became too narrow. After reading tons of reviews that indicated Asics had returned to their wider toe box in their shoes this season, I recently ordered the Gel Nimbus 22 in a wide and went up a 1/2 size (because feedback on the adjustment to the toe box was varied). I am so disappointed!! They are not even as wide as my standard width Gel Nimbus 17! Also, the shoe feels completely different and in no way has the same cushion and comfort as the Gel Nimbus 17. I am really hoping that Asics will look at all the feedback on their shoes and go back to the proven designs that everyone loved!
I have worn Asics for years now and wouldnt wear anything else. These fit a bit roomier than some of the others, I still size up, I normally wear a ladies 12 and go with the 13. I have slightly narrow feet and the normal width is good for me. I love the rose color. The padding and support are awesome and I love this one so much I got another in a different color. Well worth the price since I walk in them every day. thank you for making them in a larger size. Wish the length was true to size.
Asics needs to improve more on the toe box; still needs more room & fabric in that area is way too stiff! The instep area is too low! Comfort level is not the same. For over 18 years, I always purchased Asics Nimbus. When I would have them on I would be in heaven (a cloud nine experience) Now their comfortable is gone. And I did try....I ordered two sizes 9.5 W and 10 W. I felt like someone was stepping on my toes! And my orthodontics did not fit proper in them. The didn't line up. The 10 W was too big in length. Please Asics bring back our original Nimbus 17's. I use to recommend to everyone that Asics was the best...now I cant!! So upset...i want the original Asics back! Please!
I've been a long time runner and have only run in Asics for the last 12+ years. I'm now training for my first marathon and ordered these hoping to have the extra cushion and support I would need. I wear a size 9 in regular shoes and ordered a 9.5 which I always do for running sneakers. On my first run I noticed my toes were in pain after the first two miles. The second time I took them out for a run, again, my toes were in so much pain and started to feel numb that I had to stop running by mile 6. I'm super disappointed, and it's a very expensive mistake of purchase. I'm hoping Asics will reimburse me. As a runner it's understood you can't tell how the shoes will perform or feel until you take them out for a run.
I’ve worn Nimbus shoes for the last 8-10 years. I especially liked the Nimbus 18. For me the Nimbus 22 is a definite improvement over the 21. It’s wider in the toe box and more breathable. It also has more cushion. Overall a very good shoe. After purchasing the first pair several months ago, I recently purchased another pair. I”m a walker, 4 miles a day, not a runner.
So disappointed in this shoe. Asics has still not learned that people want cushion in the whole running shoe, not just a little in the rear footbed. I've gone thru gel nimbus 16,17, *& 18, they were wonderfully cushioned. Then came 19 etc. & they've never had the cushion that they previously did. Including the 22. I've read numerous reviews & they all say the same thing. Bring back the cushion. Does the company not read these reviews. I will be trying a different brand..
This is my first pair of ASICS! Bought these for long runs (training for a half marathon). Great ankle support and great cushion. I’m not a fan of shoes with low padding as I feel like the impact is harsh during long runs. Can’t believe I’ve been missing out. Will buy more!
