To top it off the shoes need to be leather. My first thought wasn't the Brooks brand, I'll be quite honest. I have a mesh running shoe, and while I love that pair, I thought that's where the buck stopped--all mesh, no room for work. However after trying several popular, wide spread brands I finally decided to check Brooks out. I was achy, my feet were desperate! Then I came across these shoes. I was thrilled! Even paid express shipping to get them asap.\n\nIt took a six day, fifty eight hour work week for me to break them in, but I love these shoes! I no longer fear when a manager asks me to do 2-5 hours of overtime now. \n\nThe downside is I feel like the shoe strings/laces aren't long enough. And while I do love them, I don't think they offer as much comfort in the soles as much as other Brooks shoes provide. Perhaps it's the walking vs running issue of how the shoes are constructed? But! These are just minor peeves of mine. \n\nOverall the shoes are leaps and bounds better than the generic, widespread brands brands I tried before. They're worth every penny. Because of the success I had with this particular pair of shoes I'm a 100% Brooks fan. I have neuropathy in my feet and they are too stiff for me.\nI do have two pair of Ariel GTS 24 they are great.
