The ultimate in softness and supreme comfort—now even softer. You might be able to outrun our engineers. But when it comes to supreme comfort, super-soft cushioning and mile-after-mile plushness, you’ll never out-engineer them.
I enjoy running in these shoes. I have been running in Brooks glycerins for 5 or 6 years. I was originally disappointed when I saw how much they had changed this year. However once I tried them out I loved them! Glycerins made it possible for me to run half marathons. I love them.
Love these shoes. I usually wear a 9.5 but had to return for a 10. Well worth the comfort to pay a bit more. My feet have no soft tissue left so I feel like I'm walking on bones. These provide just the right support.
These shoes are awesome! I walk 2-3 days a week averaging 5-7 miles each time. I tend to supinate and after a few miles my feet hurt! These were so comfortable from the start. I walked over 6 miles the first time I wore them with no pain! I am a fan for life!!!
The last 2 pairs of Brooks that i have worn the last year or two have been the Transcend. While I still love the Transcend, I ordered a pair of these along with the Transcend with the intentions of keeping one and returning one. Surprisingly, I liked the Glycerin's better! You can't go wrong with these. I do recommend going through the questionnaire available on the Brooks site to see which shoe is best for you.
I love these shoes! I bought them after knee surgery because my toes were being killed in my old shoes. I adore these. No blisters. They cushion your feet. I walked 9 miles in them and they were perfect.
I run in the white Glycerin 16, which is just a GREAT looking shoe. Please do more of these nice subtle colors, Brooks! I love how cushiony the heel is. I am training for the Boston marathon and this shoe has been just what my plantar fasciitis needed. It's a game-changer!!
What is it with women's running shoes looking like they were made for the preschool set? Hot pinks, neon reds, garish orange? The 16's are an improvement over last year's but still, if I want something subtle then my only choice is a black shoe with neon accents. Do shoe designers think all women desire to recreate their early childhood shoe experience? Someone please, design some grown up color schemes!
Ghost was my go to shoe (still love the Ghost) but made the mistake of trying a different brand. I was having aches and pains after long runs. My husband has always been a fan of the Glycerin so I decided to give it a try. Love it!! Comfortable but not too much cushion so it doesn't feel heavy. Huge fan!!
I have Achilles tendonitis and a heel spur. I just purchased these today. I am VERY happy with them. I wore them out of the store. I wore them grocery shopping, cooked dinner and just sat down. I normally have to ice my heel when I take my shoes off for the day. Not tonight. That's why I felt compelled to write my review. Wow--- what a difference these shoes made. I know KNOW what shoe is right for ME. ( I had never heard of Brooks before today ) will continue to purchase these shoes. Ahhh...relieved from my painful heels and constantly looking for a comfortable shoe.
I love to work out and enjoy life.i usually bought Brooks Ghost, but decided to go with Brooks Glycerin 16 ,these are by far the best. No more achy knees I am almost 60 and weigh 215.i can't stress it enough,My Dad always said you need good shoes because you will need to do lots of walking in this life so enjoy each day and try to get some moderate exercise each day.He had a long and healthy life fo 84 wonderful years.
We have used Brooks shoes for many years. The only disappointment I have is my new pair the rubber is pealing from the shoe. It's Too bad because they are so comfortable. I will have to save up for a new pair, but until then this will have to do.
Excellent shoes. These help keep me running with meniscus problems in both knees. I also switched to the wide version from the previous model because I noticed holes forming along the sides of the Glycerin 15s in normal width. (Not sure if my feet have widened since I've never been a wide or if the shoes have narrowed.) Either way I'm quite content with these!
Better color options needed for the women's Glycerin
This is a great supportive shoe for running or working on your feet all day at a hospital. The color options are awful. This is the highest priced shoe and the color options are better in all the cheaper shoes, I don't understand.
I would like a bit more cushion on the insert portion of the shoe. With both the glycerin 15 & 16 I've had to buy the Dr. Scholl's runner shoe inserts to acheive the cushion I need for my foot. Overall though the shoe performed well during my half marathon last weekend.
I've crossed the 100 mile mark in my Glycerin 16's and am loving them. I rotate these with Ghost 11's for most of my runs. I tend to use the Glycerins for long or recovery runs. The cushioning is wonderful without being too mushy. The upper feels luxurious, and I feel well-protected on my runs. I've had no hot spots or blisters in runs up to 2.5 hours so far. A couple of long runs have been in the rain. Again, no hotspots or blisters. My only concern is the outsole wear. I'm getting way more wear on the outsole on the Glycerins than the Ghosts 100 miles in. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
I was uncertain about buying these shoes at first, because I've never spent that much on my running shoes. I have always bought Nikes thinking they were the best shoes and have usually gotten good deals on them. I now know I've been wrong. The Glycerin 16 is by far the most comfortable running shoe I've ever had. I have trouble with shin splints and these shoes have helped me to continue running through having them. If the price is the only thing holding you back, you won't be disappointed! I will buy these over and over again.
These are the most comfortable shoe on the market. I'm going to compare them to the Ghost 11 a bit because I was trying to decide between the two and ended up buying both: Glycerin - comfy to the max - secure - love the structure of the tongue - sole seems to wear poorly, after only a few runs the softer rubber sole was showing more wear than it should - my go to when I'm aching or when I'm going on a long run - only shoe I've found to really fit my high arch and keep it from aching after long runs or a lot of runs Ghost - comfy wide base but not as cushioned as glycerin - fits wider and longer than the glycerin (perhaps from less cushion inside, makes it feel larger) - medium arch support (not quite as good as glycerin for those of us with mega high arches) - great traction and very sturdy rubber sole. My choice when I'm trail running or needing more secure footing (I have worn these on icy roads and did great) Basically, wish I could concoct a perfect mixture of these two shoes!!!
I've run in the glycerin 15 for about a year, and this was my first edition of the 16. I always loved the 15 once they wore in, but had some toe numbness for the first 15 miles or so. With this shoe, I had no such problems. They wore from day one like my comfy 15s. LOVE the new edition!
I always order my running shoes in a half size bigger in case of swelling. The shoes fit perfectly. I used to wear nikes lunarglides and stuffered from blisters on my right big toe every time I ran. I bought expensive socks, used powder and I still got blisters. I was super stubborn and didn't want to fork out more money on shoes until I needed to retire them. That day came and I ordered the glycerin 16's. I run about 20 miles a week on the street and I have not once got a blister. Best purchase by far.
These were laced up and seemed to have been worn already when they arrived. Maybe they had been returned by another customer before? I will stay loyal to Brooks, even though these shoes do not seem to hold up as long as they used to. I only run 12-16 miles a week, but they wear out within 3 months. Hoping you guys can somehow improve on this!
