Just purchased these in the navy/turquoise color. Very comfy and relatively lightweight, but still offers a neutral support. The fabric around the heel area comes up a bit higher than on other Brooks shoes, but it has not bothered me.
I've been fighting shoes that were too small and it was starting to hurt my feet. In the last year I've gone through close to 6 pairs of shoes trying to figure out what fits. I was scared and confused about going up a 1/2 to full size than I normally wear for running but I can tell you DO IT! These shoes are amazing. My feet are no longer cramped or hurt after running and this is the FIRST pair of running shoes I've had that do not give me shin splints! Already ordered a trail shoe just waiting for the weather 😊
These are the most comfy shoes I have bought. They feel amazing while running. The cushion prevent my feet from hurting after a long run and workout. They also are long lasting. Mine still havent started to look old yet, look brand new and I have had them a year now. Colo is still bright like when I first got them. I have had many compliments and even someone stop me to ask where I got my shoes. I will definitely be getting more brooks!
Tried this shoe after multiple pairs of Launch where I always wear a hole at the top, inside lace. Obviously, just my gait, but I thought the tighter elastic band may hold up better. It is a nice snug fit (good for trail running and keeping cinder/mulch out) but after several weeks, they still cause a sore spot where the tongue meets the elastic. They do have great support and a wide enough toe box without looking bulky. I'd just warn that they need some breaking in time...unlike the launch ever did...for me.
I have been a committed Launch fan but style wise I decided to branch out. It seemed the ricochet had everything I was looking for. Light weight and speed. And yes! They are perfect right out of the box. They also have a little more room in the toe box than Launch but I'm not swimming in them like I am in Ghost
I have worn the Launch, Pure Flow and Pure Cadence in the past. The Ricochet is a perfect addition to my rotation! In fact, it may replace my Launch all together because I like how "snappy" it feels. Even though the shoe is a bit heavier than my others, it doesn't bother me at all because it still has the feel of a fast shoe from the added DNA Amp cushion. It seems supportive enough to use as a everyday trainer as well, perhaps a bit more than my Launch does. Great job Brooks!
I've had total replacements of both knees and have a hard time finding comfortable and supportive shoes. This is the first pair of Brooks I've purchased. They are extremely comfortable and lightweight. I use them for all of my workouts. I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear. They fit perfectly.
I wear mostly brooks and pretty much all neutral ones work for me but like anyone else i have favorites. Ghost's for long runs and i have the levitate 2 which i LOVE and i thought let me give these a go and they are very comfortable and feel very light as others said. I will definitely be buying another pair and i love them just as much as the levitate 2 if not more! I run 4 days a week and most runs between 6-8 miles with exception of weekend long runs.
I have enjoyed several pairs of Levitate and thought I would try this new shoe. It is a very nice shoe and easy to break in. The toe box seems a little wide and I like the feel of the levitate overall. I do really like the knit cuff. Nice fit around my upper foot. My levitate actuality got worn on the top edge of my left shoe. I have had to sew all of mine to repair. Don't have the Levitate 2 yet, but I know the knit edge will be an improvement.
These are the best running shoes I've ever owned. The first week I ran 70 miles with no issues. They are light, comfortable and look great. I can't wait for my next run! I think I'll be asking for a second pair for Christmas!
Absolutely love these shoes! I use to wear nike and under armor shoes and now I'm never going back! They gave me blisters and my feet would hurt so bad. Now these brooks are amazing! No blisters and super comfy to wear running and even just walking in!
I am new to running and had previously been running in a pair of New Balance shoes that were t proper running shoes. At the advice of my fiancé, I went out looking for proper running shoes. She suggested ASICS or Brooks. I various models from both brands on and found that all the brooks were more comfortable for my feet. The ricochets were the most comfortable of them all. I didn't realize how much of an impact proper shoes could have on my body! I love these! They are stylish and offer support in all the right areas.
THESE ARE AMAZING! (That's saying something for me)
This shoe.... is THE shoe! Brooks completely outdid themselves! It has the comfort of a glycerin, the springiness of a launch, and the support of a adrenaline! I have tried a lot of brooks shoes. I always like some but I never fall head over heels for one. Ricochet changed the game! Thanks brooks! Now let's cross our fingers they come out with more colors!
I've only had these for about a week but so far I'm very happy. I have long toes and have frequent toenail problems so I'm always searching for shoes that don't feel bulky but so have a large toebox and these definitely fit the bill!
I am immensely thankful, and very surprised that I was offered to test wear the new Ricochet running shoes for my honest opinion. I only wear Brooks shoes and have several styles of the Ghost, Glycerin, and Levitates and love them all! When I took the new Ricochets out of the box I was amazed at the beauty of the shoe and could not believe how lightweight they were. They felt great on and initially I was a little concerned that they didn't have as much cushion as my other shoes. But after very little wear, they feel fantastic!! They have a large toe box, padded tongue, and are so lightweight that you feel as if you are walking on air. They are so comfortable and appear to need very minimal wear to break them in, and they don't weigh anything. I would highly recommend these shoes to a walker or a runner and would warn you to be blown away by their comfort and performance. Brooks shoes just continue to exceed my expectations!!
I was super excited to be considered a valuable customer and asked to try out the new Ricochets for free with my honest opinion about their performance. I was not in love with the color at first but I actually received several compliments from people while out walking. I was surprised how breathable they were since I've never worn black shoes and expected my feet to sweat more in the summer heat. The shoe was incredibly light and comfortable. I thought that the heel was stiff and would rub blisters but I am blister free after several miles in these shoes. The rim feels like a sock against your heel and does not rub. Ricochet runs true to size and molds to your foot. I've been wearing Brooks Launch shoes for 4 years but I will now be switching to Ricochets.
I am a long term Brooks consumer and was given the opportunity to test the new Ricochet in exchange for providing my honest opinion. I originally switched to Brooks GTS on the advice of my physician to help with plantar fasciitis and knee issues. I have worn Ghost, Launch and Glycerin in the past. Upon unboxing, these felt and looked awesome! Lightweight, good looking great colors. Upon first putting them on I felt they might be a tad tight in the heel, but after wearing them for an hour these seemed to just comfortably relax around my foot. Took a 5 mile walk the first day and they were incredibly comfortable and felt like an old friend! I loved the knitted top, and the toe-box had sufficient room. The "energized" cushioning felt just that-energized! I could truly feel it when walking! These are another fabulous addition to my shoe line-up as well as for the Brooks stable of shoes!
I discovered Brooks shoes four years ago and I never knew footwear could have such an impact on my health. Always wearing shoes in the neutral category, I was now offered the opportunity to receive a pair of the Ricochet for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I have progressed from Glycerin to Ghost, and then to the Launch 5, so I was curious how the Ricochet would wear when I took them out of the box, hoping they would not be just like all of the other shoes that now are seeming like the "sock trend" of gym shoe every company is putting out, just by the looks alone. Thankfully they are not! Having recently recovered from an injury, it was important that I immediately felt supported in this shoe and I did. There is a solid foundation to the heel, it is not a slinky material, and the "cuff" around the heel edge grips the heel area comfortably. If you are like me and have one foot bigger than the other, and maybe lace with a runner's heel lock lacing, the styling of the Ricochet does not allow for this type of lacing, so I was nervous if there would be heel slip, or if I would feel supported, but I was pleasantly surprised that this was a total non-issue, the shoe fit both feet just fine, no blistering or rubbing, and I was supported. I also liked that the toe box area was roomy, yet the mid-area was scalable for my narrow foot once I got the lacing tighter. The shoe is a great for all day, and whereas with Glycerin and Ghost I felt that by the end of the day my feet were fatigued, I do feel these are a great all day wear, and I would attribute that to the mid-sole DNA-amp technology, it appears to have done the job. I know that I pound my feet when walking and as much as I focus on proper mechanics, of all my shoes, I believe these will benefit me the most because of that technology. I am excited to add the Ricochet to my Brooks collection, and would recommend this shoe to folks looking for a great neutral shoe that responds to their foot and the pavement.
I may have found my new go to shoe. The Ricochet has a smooth transition and puts a nice amount of 'spring' in my run. I do a lot of long distance road running and this has a good amount of cushion for me while still feeling lightweight. I am not a huge fan of the knit heel collar but so far, it hasn't rubbed or otherwise negatively affected my runs. I cannot wait to take this shoe out on a really long run! Thanks Brooks for letting me evaluate this shoe in exchange for an honest review. I would absolutely recommend this shoe!
The Ricochet is a great combo of energy and speed. I have been running in these for more than a week and have taken them onto the track for speed work, out on an every day easy run and out for hill repeats. They felt springy and light in each of these workouts -- actually more responsive than the Launch that I usually wear. I love the sock like upper and the way the laces feed through that upper. They locked my heel in and there was no slippage and pressure on my toes on the downhills. I think the construction of the upper will spare the back of my heel some of the friction and rubbing that it gets from shoes with stiffer back of heel construction. All in all, a lightweight (for me) training shoe with great energy return and a fantastic fit.
I was asked to try out and write a review of Brooks' new shoe, the Ricochet. As a die-hard Launch fan, I was excited to compare these new shoes to the Launch and planned a 9 mile run to give them a decent workout. Initially the amount of cushioning felt more firm than the Launch but was overall very comfortable, the toe box was wide enough for any high mileage swelling and I loved the way the shoe fit around my upper foot. Over the miles I noticed that the Ricochet had a nice, stable and balanced ride. It gave a great energy return similar to what I get with the Launch but without the excess cushion of the Launch. In longer, hot runs I tend to get blisters with overly cushioned shoes, I was blister free in the Ricochet! I definitely will wear the Ricochet on my longer runs from now on.
I tried these today at my local Fleet Feet store and fell in love with them. I usually run in the Launch. These shoes have a defite 'spring' to them and a very smooth transition from mid foot to toe off. They also have nice padding in the forefoot, but not enough to be too squishy. I think these may be the perfect running shoe for me!
I was honored to be asked to be a wear tester for a brand new shoe the Ricochet and give a review. In return Brooks gave me these sneakers to keep free of charge. I have been a runner for about 35 years, and avid Brooks wearer for the majority of my running career. I have been interchanging between the glycerin and levitate 2, after several years of the launch. I found the ricochet to run true to size and comfortable from the first time I put them on, with no break in time. I continue with longer runs in the glycerin as they offer more cushion and shorter runs in the levitiate 2. I do find them somewhat similar to the levitate 2. Higher heal rise in the back and same material. They are quite springy on return, which is slightly different than the levitate 2. Only wearing them so far for a couple of runs I really like them. I am going to continue to run, walk and wear them to work, several 12 hour shifts. So far I give these sneakers 5 stars!! Brooks continues to amaze me. No matter if I choose the the new ricochet over the levitate 2 Brooks are my go to sneakers always. I recommend Brooks to all my fellow runners and coworkers.
- In exchange for my honest opinion, I was lucky enough to be a test runner for the new Brooks Ricochet. Right out of the box this is a great pair of shoes. Lightweight, streamlined upper, springy, with tons of room in the toe box. After two neuroma surgeries on the same foot, toe wiggle room is very important to me. Something is also new about the laces - they seem to "lock" in better when loosened, tightened, and tied. I normally run in the Levitates, but the Ricochet has definitely earned a spot in the rotation. Took them out on a 4 mile run on asphalt and crushed granite. I still can't believe how much lighter they felt. I was concerned at first, as the soul did not feel as "bouncy" as the Levitates, in fact almost stiff, but after only 400 meters, all worries were put to rest. The Ricochet proved to be a very responsive ride with zero issues. I completely forgot I was wearing new shoes! In fact, I enjoyed running in the Ricochets so much, they just might be on my feet in the Chicago marathon next weekend!! - All in all - great new shoe - felt true to size, but might be a hair shorter than other Brooks models
