I bought these shorts to wear to work; I work outside. Very comfortable, lots of pockets (which is hard to find in women's shorts), durable, and I like the thinner fabric. In the summer heat, it makes a huge difference. Need to purchase a few more pairs.
* I didn't realize you weren't supposed to use fabric softener. Someone mentioned above.
Love the Style/Shape don't love that you can't use fabric softener
I love the fit and function of these shorts however I do not love that they require separate washing from most of my other clothes since you cannot use fabric softener on them. When I asked about this in the store, one of the workers said that she had used fabric softener on a pair and they didn't last as long as the ones she did not use fabric softener on. Would be great if they could keep the style, but make them out of a slightly heavier/ fabric softener allowed fabric like some of the mens shorts.
I bought these shorts for work shorts. Initial fit was good. After a few hours in the heat/sun they began to stretch out. Spent the rest of the day pulling my shorts up. Search is still on for moisture wicking cargo shorts for women that actually fit and stay put no matter the weather conditions.
Bought these shorts a year or two ago and loved them. Decided to buy a couple more pairs and it appears that the sizing isn't the same... Definitely should have ordered a size larger than my older ones. Kind of disappointed.
I had two pair that were the relaxed fit and I loved them so I ordered three more. Didn’t realize the relaxed fit had been discontinued and ordered the original fit by mistake. They are nowhere near as good on fit in the hips as the relaxed fit were. Really disappointed. These crawl up my but and aren’t comfortable.
These shorts are, as far as I'm concerned, an absolute wardrobe necessity. The fit is perfect (5'9" and 130#). My only problem is i only purchased two pairs, so I just purchased three more. They do not bind during hours of squatting and standing, nor do they ride up or sag. The elastic-ribbing waistband is strong enough to hold in place, yet soft enough not to feel tight. They wash up like a dream and, after several months of hard wear, they still look great; I wear them for social outings and major (and I do mean major) work in the yard. The handy loop on the side is perfect for keeping a pair of snips for a hammer handy; I've slid many a tool in the loop and any one of the numerous pockets; the storage abilities of these shorts virtually eliminate the need to wear a tool belt. I've laid a paver walkway, created and cleared out garden beds, cleaned out gutters, done some electrical work, and dug out banks for walls (obviously, no man around the house). These shorts, after washed, still look new! I highly recommend these shorts.
It is really hard to find shorts that fit across the hips and don't gap in the waist, but these are perfect! The stretchy waistband means no exposed crack while working. I had to go up a size from my usual, but I am pleased with the fit. Love all the pockets!!
I'd had the hardest time finding women's shorts with decent pockets that would conceal my phone. Boys shorts look terrible on me, so I'm glad I discovered Carhartt. I've been told these still look like boy shorts, but they are comfortable, my phone and wallet fit in the thigh pockets, and I love the waistband. It's stretchy, but snug, so it fits my waist perfectly.
