{"reviews":[{"id":7595003,"locale":"en_US","rating":2,"title":"Design and durability still needs some work ","text":"I want to start out by saying I was so excited for the release of these pants and I really, really want to love them. I have never been able to find a pair of pants where I’ve not worn through the inner thigh in a year or less of regular wear, so I was incredibly hopeful that these pants would be more durable than other Dovetail styles and other brands. I had to wait for a long time to get them, my size sold out too quickly for me to get them when they first came out, and then when they restocked and I was able to purchase a pair it was just getting hot in the summer, so I’ve only been able to start wearing them this fall. As soon as I got them and looked at the crotch gusset I knew they would not hold up to my thighs for long. Normally where my Dovetails wear out is on the rear seam of the crotch gusset along the inner thigh, so where I need reinforcement is in that area and extending to the back of the leg, like a riding pant or motorcycle pant. The crotch gusset on the D-Fender is tiny, like half the size of the Britt X, so the special fabric doesn’t even touch that problem area for curvy women. I’ve been wearing these pants regularly for about three months now, and the crotch gusset fabric is starting to pill up and the main fabric of the pant is starting to show serious signs of wear on the inner thighs and rear. I give them maybe three more months. This is regular everyday walking around wear, not even real work. I’ve only been wearing them to the farmers market, not even working on the farm, and I’ve been washing cold and hanging to dry. \nThey are very comfortable, very cute, functional, and fit well, but just don’t deliver on durability in the area I need most. Function. Fabric. Repeat! Oh, and not to forget the pockets...especially the large one on the left thigh, perfect for the GPS I carry because I have (free-ranging) Hound dogs, lol. The narrower, deeper pocket on the right side is for my glasses. For all my outside chores, these are my GO TO work pants, especially this time of year when I am cutting firewood. The Cordura overlay panels are perfect for abrasion, and a little moisture defense. Just wish they had knee pad pockets","text":"These pants fit well, are nice and light but rugged. I love the Cordura-reinforced areas. I beat up the knees a little, digging trench and so far the Cordura are holding up well. ","text":"The material is wonderful! It’s heavy (which makes it hot, but that is to be expected). I’ve only wore them once, but the pockets seem durable, material is strong, and I think these will last a while! I will say, according to the measurements, I was supposed to get a 14, but those did not fit and I had to buy a larger size. I wanted a pair of pants for all the other ranch work not on horseback. The interior thigh/crotch seams had holes by the end of May where my thighs rub. I had really high hopes for these but am really disappointed especially for the price. More colors please!!! The D-Fender pants were tight in the waist and yet too big throughout the hips which I've found with a few other styles of pants from Dovetail. The fit isn't consistent across lines. The D-Fender pants were just a bit awkward so I returned them for a credit so I can get something else when the autumn drop lands. Of note, I also adore the thermal overalls and thermal pants, the Maven pants and the shorts are great. Keep them coming! I will try each and every item you release now and forever.
